Chapter 273 - What's Wrong With Me?

Time dragged itself at a snail's pace, a suffocating feeling enveloped Sera as she stood motionless. Beads of cold sweat accumulated on her forehead resembling soft petals of a blooming flower covered in dew.

Attired in a body hugging corset waisted A-line red dress with thin straps that reached above her knees, Sera had subtle makeup on her face. Her voluminous hair were side parted, elegantly.

The crystal rose pendant dangling down her delicate clavicle complimenting her fair skin alluringly.

Closing her eyes in fright Sera tightly clenched the hem of her red dress, the loud thumping of her heart ringing in her ears kept her senses awake.

*ding*

Finally the elevator reached 15th floor with a dinging noise, Sera's eyes shot open at the sound, the doors slowly opened revealing a quiet lobby.

Sera scanned the empty hallway across her with a squeasy feeling in the pit of her stomach. She could hear a voice in her head warning her of the dangers ahead.

Striding out with hastened footsteps Sera all of a sudden started to feel tipsy, her eyelids were getting heavy as she stumbled forward.

Accidentally her fuzzy head knocked onto the door ahead, to her surprise it wasn't locked and Sera fell inside, the red clutch fell onto the floor with a clang.

Due to her fast reflexes she managed to steady herself, however she was already inside the private room.

The door soundlessly closed behind Sera.

"Where.. Where am I?"

Holding onto the wall Sera felt her eyesight getting blurry by the second, she slurred her words with uncertainty.

Staring ahead with her gaze unfocused Sera recognized her surroundings as unfamiliar. Rubbing her hazy eyes for a clearer view she ambled leaning against the walls.

Weakly shuffling her feet Sera somehow found herself inside the well-equipped and lavish bathroom. She felt somewhat sober after splashing cold water on her face, it was refreshing.

Sera's sparse eyesight cleared much to her delight. She heaved a sigh wiping her face with her palms to dissipate the stress, rubbing her temples lightly.

"What's wrong with me.."

There were a set of clean towels stacked in the cabinet, pulling out a small towel she wiped her hands and neck while exiting the bathroom.

"I don't remember ordering any alcoholic drinks.."

Pouring herself a glass of water Sera mumbled as she tried to recall, standing leisurely near the table. She had coiled both her hands around the glass, sipping slowly.

With her back against the door Sera was lost in her own little world, completely oblivious to her surroundings.

*crash*

The glass in Sera's hand dropped with a shattering sound, she felt her heart in her mouth when a hand stealthily crept up behind her waist, encircling her body. Beads of cold sweat trickled down the sides of her exquisite face.

"Sshhh.."

A deliberate gruff sounding voice hissed beside Sera's ears, she tried to move away in reflex but was held down tightly.

"Don't move.."

The man applied pressure on his five fingers almost crushing Sera's waist, his tone held a tinge of warning that didn't go undetected.

"Who.. Who are you?"

Scared out of her wits Sera tried to remain calm, taking a deep breath she stuttered in a low voice.

"Heh.. You don't have to know that.."

Chuckling notoriously, the man's voice turned cold, a complex emotion flashed past Sera's eyes. She had her head lowered, biting her lip due to the pain in her waist.

"Why do I feel that I know who you are.."

Interrupting the man who was holding her forcefully Sera's tone seemed to change into a playful one, she had a calm smile on her face. It dumbfounded the man, his firm hold on her shook.

"Oh! You do?"

Scoffing, he inquired. There wasn't any coldness in his tone rather it sounded amusing. All of a sudden his interest was piqued.

"Yes.."

Nodding her head Sera smiled faintly, it was a serene smile that could cause ripples in one's heart laying their eyes on her.

"So, who do you think I am?"

The hand travelled from Sera's waist, slowly inching towards her sides. She gasped.

"You're.."

Sera's chest was heaving up and down, there was anticipation and impatience in her eyes. Her face was deep red while she susurrated softly.

With her head lowered, the originally terrified Sera caught sight of a familiar looking tattoo on the man's wrist. It was Lucifer.

"My Angel.."

Without giving the man a chance to touch her further, Sera swerved around and smiled brilliantly catching Lucifer off guard.

"Ah!"

The turn was too fierce, in her excitement Sera forgot about the shattered glass on the floor. Her leg twisted, the heel broke in two pieces and a piece of glass grazed between her pinky toe. It was painful and bleeding.

"Careful!"

Instinctively reaching out to hold the falling Sera, Lucifer cried out in alarm. He heaved a sigh when she landed perfectly in his arms but furrowed his brows after seeing her bleeding.

Lucifer bent down, effortlessly lifting Sera off the ground. She yelped, clutching onto his shirt. He carried her to the table that was nearer than the couch, settling her down he bent to check on her wound.

Prudently Lucifer took of Sera's heel, his heedful gaze had a mix of emotions removing the teeny piece of glass stuck between her toes. She winced with her eyes red, a tear rolled down her cheeks.

Looking fixedly at the man crouching in front of her with a agonizing expression Sera's heart skipped a beat.

"Ah! I'm sorry.."

Sera cried gripping onto the tables edge, Lucifer had merely brushed his finger on her skin however he stopped. His eyes were staring at her apologetically, she lowered her head and apologized, much to his displeasure.

Without taking a second glance at Sera, Lucifer got up leaving her shocked. She sat quietly, he appeared with a wet towel and first aid kit.

Sera's heart fluttered with a euphoric sensation. Lucifer gently wiped her foot and toes, disinfecting it before applying a bandaid.

Colorful, tiny butterflies merrily played hopscotch in Sera's stomach and she broke out into pretty, silly smiles when Lucifer planted a kiss gazing into her eyes, mesmerizing.

"You don't have to apologize, it's my fault for appearing out of nowhere and scaring you.."

An austere look spread across Lucifer's face as he caressed her foot, he was feeling guilty. His gray eyes gloomily darting at the two tiny toes neatly wrapped in white.

Wriggling her feet to catch his attention Sera stretched her hand gesturing him to get up. Pursing his lips Lucifer slipped his large palm into her small ones and stood up.

"But I get happy every time you surprise me like this.."

Cupping his face with her other hand, Sera leaned her forehead against his, her sparkling eyes as she gazed into his gray ones lovingly.

Lucifer smiled breezily before chuckling heartily, he was somewhat amused by the solemnity in Sera's words.

"You sure? Won't you get tired of it?"

Breathing his words beside her ears, Lucifer teasingly pressed open mouth kisses on her face, her jaw.

"Nah-ah, I'd never get tired of you.."

Turning Lucifer's face she nudged their noses, a flirty smile graced Sera's pink lips as she spoke.

It was enough for Lucifer to fall for Sera again, his heart fluttering, a myriad of emotions zapped through him like raw electricity. He was rendered speechless.

Shortly after their lips crashed with fervor, it was a kind of kiss that was comforting in it's own way. As the pair continued their hungry exploration the world seemed to fell apart.
