Chapter 50 - Shooting Star

Su Yin was looking at the mirror, staring at her reflection her eyes clouded, she closed her eyes to stop the tears threatening to fall.

"Adrian..", she muttered in between her soft sobbing.

Su Yin had always loved Adrian. From the time she knew about his existence she's been head over heels in love with this man, who was cold hearted, had blood on his hands, was never accommodating nor had any soft corner for the fairer sex, but had eyes only for Zhang Lili.

Her heart ached when she remembered how hurt he looked, his eyes were filled with sadness, his expression cold but Su Yin knew his struggle, for she can understand his predicament.

Su Yin was well aware how painful it is when your feelings are not reciprocated, when the person you love is in love with someone else.

She knew Adrian's pain, and wished to see the love in his eyes for her, not Zhang Lili.

After composing herself Su Yin walked out with a beaming smile on her face, devoid of any sadness from before.

Sera had already washed up and was preparing to head down for dinner when Su Yin hugged her smiling, she patted her friend's head and Su Yin snuggled in her friend's comfort.

"Yinyin, what's wrong?", Sera asked cautiously.

"Nothing dummy, I'm just happy spending time with you!", Su Yin teased her friend.

"I'm happy too, I missed you Yinyin!.."

"Don't you go anywhere now, you studying abroad was already a pain for me..", Su Yin sobbed softly.

"But you had your dad, mom and Yishen, I was practically alone", Sera reasoned.

"Whatever, I didn't have you with me!!", Su Yin rolled her eyes.

"Yinyin, I'm famished let's go now", Sera nudged her friend.

"No.. I'm not letting you go", Su Yin whined.

"Okay then, don't tell me I didn't warn you..", Sera smiled mischievously and turned.

The next moment Sera was tickling Su Yin while the latter screamed, laughing, tears flooded her eyes and she was out of breathe.

Sera was laughing hard looking at Su Yin's reaction, she was always sensitive to tickling, and with Sera's skilled hands she couldn't escape her torment.

Aunt Zhou came to call them down for dinner when she saw them, smiling softly she knocked on the door,

"Young miss, the dinner is ready.. Master and Missus are both in Country Y, Old Madam is asleep it's just young master waiting for you both"

Sera and Su Yin went downstairs, a lonely Jinan was busy eating, while working on his phone. He was very focused to sense the two girls approaching the dining table.

Su Yin and Sera pulled their chairs, then Jinan's attention was drawned on them. A surprised Jinan smiled at Su Yin and Sera, then resumed his work, after a couple of minutes he kept his phone back on the table.

"Hey Yinyin, When did you come?", Jinan asked her after the girls settled down, and started eating.

"Hi Jinan, I wanted to accompany Sera so I had come around 11 in the morning, I guess"

"Brother it's not like she should report it to you", Sera laughed, earning a glare.

"Whatever, It's quite late are you guys having a sleepover tonight?", Jinan asked looking at the time.

"Yes! It would be fun..", Sera exclaimed while Su Yin felt a little uncomfortable.

"Okay, I'll be in my study if you need anything ask Aunt Zhou don't disturb me", Jinan quipped and walked away.

Su Yin reluctantly had to stay over at Sera's place, she didn't wish to break Sera's heart and decided to stay.

The girls were already tired from all the fun they had today, so while watching a particular romcom Sera knocked off.

Su Yin was wide awake, her heart felt uneasy, she got up switched off the television and covered Sera in a blanket.

She walked to the kitchen, poured herself water and came back in Sera's room.

The night sky was dark, there were many stars twinkling but the moon was missing.

Su Yin stared at the blinking stars and saw a shooting star, she quickly closed her eyes to make a wish, opening her eyes a tear fell gliding down her smooth cheeks.
