Chapter 35 - It Must Be Fate

Minutes before the commencement of the charity gala.

Lucifer was walking around looking for Adrian when he saw a figure from the corridor standing in front of the elevator, holding her cellphone she laughed lightly.

Lucifer thought he was seeing things, rubbing his eyes he looked again. It was true, he wasn't hallucinating. It's really her! She's here in front of him, how he wished to embrace her.

He was on cloud nine seeing her here that he momentarily forgot about his main intention to attend this charity gala.

The petite figure was still there but now she was wearing a beautiful mask adorning roses blooming just like her beauty.

He looked at her dress, he smiled his most sincere and sweet smile.

"Is it not the same dress which I saw that day?", Lucifer thought.

"It must be fate", Lucifer said softly, in an almost whisper.

Sera who was completely defenseless looked at the arm who pulled her towards a strong chest colliding into her face.

Sera raised her head to look at the man, he was dressed in a midnight black suit with a think white shirt underneath. His strong chest emanating a masculine scent, his broad shoulders standing proud and tall the man easily towered her even with her tall structure. Their close proximity clouding her senses.

In panick Sera tried to pull her hand away when her eyes landed on the tattoo peeking through the man's cuffed sleeves.

Shocked she glanced at him, the man pulled her closer almost pressing her tightly to his body, looking into his dark gray colored irises she was mesmerized.

Lucifer smiled seeing her reaction, he liked her stunned expression, her eyes spoke her emotions directly. She was like an open book and he loved reading her.

He looked deeply at her, sucking her soul in the process.

"Don't you want to dance with me? Milady", Lucifer spoke in a low seductive voice making Sera's heart race. She avoided his gaze embarrassed to reveal her emotions.

She looked around and realized they were on the dancefloor. Sera could see people swaying in twos, the dance had commenced. She couldn't leave now, it would be too embarrassing. Sera mustered her courage and nodded her head looking at her feet.

Lucifer pinched her chin making her look into his eyes, he took her hands and coiled them around him resting on his broad shoulders.

His hand placed on the small of her back, touching her bare back he felt his throat run dry and swallowed lightly.

Sera could feel the heat from his hand spread through her back. She looked at him, he was gazing at her small face all along seeing every little expression of hers.

Sera slightly pressed his shoulder, hinting that she was ready. They started swaying to the music, never once missing the rhythm, seemingly in perfect in harmony. They danced all while looking into each other's eyes.

After mustering enough courage Sera spoke,

"You? You don't remember me?", She asked cautiously making Lucifer confused.

He thought about the auction night and smiled. After seeing that Lucifer didn't respond she got flustered,

"Two years ago"

"The auction"

Both spoke at the same time, they laughed softly and looked at each other puzzled.

Thinking about something Sera asked in disbelief,

"You? You were the one who brought me in that day?", with a puzzled look.

Lucifer nodded his head looking at her lost expression.

Sera thought it was probably a dream, she never knew it was him all along.

"I saw that day at the rooftop, you looked stunning like a rose in full bloom amidst the garden. I couldn't keep my eyes off you.. but then you vanished in thin air making me feel like an idiot", Lucifer spoke in a low voice, earning a chuckle from Sera. He smiled at her and tightened his grip on her waist.

"I thought I'd never see you again, but you came to me without me looking for you! I thought it was a dream until I felt your presence in my arms. Thinking that I was living a dream, I felt ecstatic", Sera felt her cheeks flush and ears burn after hearing his words. She tried to look away when Lucifer spoke again.

"It must be fate, how you always fall into my arms all defenseless. Like that day at the mall", Sera felt her face burn after remembering the kiss. Seeing her extreme reaction to his words Lucifer knew what she was thinking about and smirked.

After seeing her being so shy and nonresponsive he probed further into the conversation,

"Two years ago?", He asked.

"Oh! You don't remember..", Sera looked down feeling sad.

"I.. I'm sorry", Lucifer blurted feeling nervous at her reaction, her eyes seemed displeased and he felt uneasy.

"It's Okay. You were probably not in a state to remember me. I understand", Sera smiled, seeing her smile Lucifer sighed in relief.

"Two years ago, Country A! Children's park.. midnight 2 AM.. You were injured.. I...", Sera spoke hesitantly when Lucifer interrupted her feeling perplexed.

"Oh!! So.. That! That was you?", Lucifer felt an indescribable feeling, like he had an enlightenment.
