Chapter 16 – The Crown Prince of Tushan Said the Jiang Family’s Second Miss Is Amazing

“Why aren’t you taking your elder sister back to the manor?” Old Venerable Su said. He lowered his head and spoke to Wei Ziting in a pressing tone, “What are you still doing here?”

“Do you want your elder sister to get involved with Zhao Xilou?” Wei Ziting’s musical temperament teacher said. When he saw his student continue kneeling motionlessly despite what Su He said, he couldn’t help saying worriedly, “Zhao Xilou is shameless. Does your elder sister not want her dignity either?”

It was only then that Wei Ziting regained his senses and stood up hurriedly. However, he was covered in a dozen or so superficial wounds. So this sudden movement immediately gave him so much pain that he froze where he was, unable to move a single step.

“Miss Wei,” Zhao Lingyun continued to call out.

“Hurry up!” Old Venerable Su urged the two old women who were holding and supporting Wei Lanzhi by the arm.

Upstairs, an attendant watched as the Wei siblings left in a hurry. He cautiously and solemnly lowered his head to look at the seated Zhao Lingxiao, but he found that the crown prince he served had the same expression as usual.

“Crown Prince?” the retainer called out to Zhao Lingxiao softly.

Zhao Lingxiao shook his head lightly and said, “The second miss of the Jiang family probably just did it to frighten others.”

The retainer was taken aback. “Huh?”

“Miss Wei is amazing. So Miss Jiang naturally has to be even more amazing than her.” Zhao Lingxiao stood up. “Let’s head back.”

“Then Miss Wei’s side…” the retainer began.

However, upon seeing the crown prince he served ignore him and walk out of the private room alone, the retainer rushed to catch up.

He dropped what he was trying to say earlier and instead said, “Since Miss Jiang’s suicide is fake, should we send someone over to expose the matter and help Miss Wei?”

Zhao Lingxiao paused his steps very briefly before immediately continuing to stride forward. The crown prince of Tushan said quietly, “It’s pointless.”

The retainer froze. Why was it pointless?

“You wretched girl!” Old Madam Xu was swinging her arms and smacking her palms onto Jiang Mingyue’s back inside the medical shop. “You want the life of this old woman, don’t you?! You do, don’t you?! Talk to me! Talk!”

“Grandma, Grandma. She’s still sick. Don’t hit her. Stop hitting her.” Jiang Yue’e stuck herself in between the grandparent and the grandchild with her arms open wide, wanting to protect her younger sister.

“Go to the side,” Old Madam Xu said, pushing her eldest granddaughter to one side. Then she raged, “She, this wretched girl, doesn’t know better. Do you not know any better either? Are you just foolishly making trouble together?”

Shen Qi reached out with his hand to support Jiang Yue’e, then he let out a sigh. He was truly amazed by his sister-in-law. Just what made her think of feigning her suicide? Had she been unafraid that she would cause her grandmother to fall sick?

“How are you supposed to leave like this?” Old Madam Xu asked right then while clutching Jiang Mingyue. “Ah Yuan, that idiot, shouted about how you killed yourself, so everyone on the main street knows about it now. Tell me, how are you going to get around this lie? Right now, there’s a whole crowd of people outside the medicine shop waiting to see your corpse. What are you going to do about this? Tell me!”

Nothing much had happened to Jiang Mingyue. This made Shen Qi’s heart tense up. That’s right. What should they do after this?

“It’s fine. I’ll just go hit those people outside until they go away.” Jiang Yu waved his fist around.

“I’ll also…”

Old Madam Xu threw over a very fierce gaze. Jiang Xian had wanted to say that he would fight alongside his brother, but he could not bring himself to say the words. The two brothers lowered their heads simultaneously.

“What else can I do?” Jiang Mingyue said at this moment. “Say that I banged my head against the wall to suicide, but I was held back by Elder Sister. Or I hung myself, but I was saved by Elder Sister. I’ll just wrap my head or neck with cloth before heading outside later.”

“Will anyone believe it?” Old Madam Xu asked doubtfully.

Jiang Mingyue said, “Why wouldn’t they? Those who don’t believe it are just hoping for me to die.”

This was indeed true. Just how much hatred did one need to have to hope for someone to die? Old Madam Xu had exploded into a rage and smacked Jiang Mingyue furiously just earlier, yet she was now losing her strength again. She stepped backwards quite a number of steps and fell into the chair behind her.

After breathing deeply for a moment, Old Madam Xu asked, “What were your intentions for this?”

Jiang Mingyue smiled and said, “Miss Wei cried very pitifully. Didn’t she?”

Old Madam Xu said, “How did she have the gall to cry like that?”

“I didn’t think she was pitiful,” Jiang Yu said. “Her crying just made me annoyed. I didn’t understand what she said. What exactly was she talking about earlier?” Jiang Yu asked Jiang Xian.

“I don’t know,” Jiang Xian replied, feeling confident that they were in the right. “Why should I listen to what Wei Ziting’s elder sister says?”

Jiang Mingyue could tell from the attitudes of these three members of her family that Wei Lanzhi’s pitiful act had succeeded!

“Her crying turned Grandmother-in-Law into an evil person,” Brother-in-Law Shen said, feeling like it was something he had to say. The three people, the grandmother and her two grandsons, did not truly understand the situation. How were they supposed to proceed like this?

“Then I’ll just be more pitiful than her.” Jiang Mingyue covered up the smile on her lips. “Grandma, why don’t you just escape unscathed and let the Wei family get criticised? Won’t this be fine?”

Old Madam Xu: “…”

Oh, no. This is awful. Since when did this granddaughter of hers know how to play with people’s intentions? In the past, she was able to see through the intentions of others a little. However, it was not to this extent where she could figure them out with a single glance. This was at the level of being so ambitious and aggressive that she would be detested by people and disliked by dogs.
