Chapter 326 - The final touch

...

On the way back, Xiao Lei could not help but ask, "Are they going to be alright?"

The moment she finished her question, she yawned.

Han Ye glanced at the rearview mirror to look at Xiao Lei, who was in the passenger seat, and smiled when he saw her yawn. He then said, "Probably. They have always managed to pull themselves through, so I don't see why they wouldn't this time. It's just that their last fight was a lot more serious than before."

Xiao Lei thought about something for a moment before chuckling wryly. "You know, I'm carrying their children... but I realized just now that other than what was publicly known, I don't know much about them..."

"Erm..." Han Ye thought for a moment before saying, "They are both good men, I can guarantee that. If there's something that you must know, then it's probably that 'family' has always been a sensitive word for them. Both of them have to deal with the crazy members of their families. I guess Callum had it easier growing up because he was under the protection of President Du Jin, and the late president treated him like a son, but life was harder for Guangying..."

Han Ye paused for a moment before adding with a somewhat regretful tone, "His family... had never accepted him."

"His father's side?" Xiao Lei asked as she c.o.c.ked her head. Whenever he mentioned his mother, Luo Guangying always had a smile on his face, so it couldn't possibly be his mother.

Han Ye nodded, and he told her everything about Luo Guangying, such as how Luo Guangying was bullied by his half-brother and his cousin, who turned out to be his half-brother as well, and how two years ago, Luo Guangying was also involved in the ruins of the Luo and Ye Families.

"No way!" Xiao Lei gasped upon hearing Luo Guangying's story. She knew a little, but she didn't know the extent of it or how bad it really was prior to this. She clutched her left hand subconsciously when she thought about how Luo Guangying had his hand broken by his half-brother, and later on, his stepmother as well.

Han Ye shrugged. "According to Madam President Du, because of his unsavory past, he has trouble connecting with people, or trusting people in general. The fact that he agreed to let you be the surrogate mother really surprised her. She had thought that it would be impossible for him and Callum to ever have a child, much less a set of twins, because of how well she knew him..."

Xiao Lei thought about Luo Guangying and his interaction with her son. "I think he likes children..."

Han Ye nodded. He had seen Luo Guangying with the young kids at Du Mansion, with Little Monkey, Wyatt, and the rest of the kids... He was always gentle and patient with them, and he was well-liked by all of them too. "He does..."

Han Ye sighed and mumbled, "I just hope that they would settle their differences and get back together before next weekend."

"I hope so too... As long as they are fine before the babies arrive, I'd be fine..." Xiao Lei mumbled as she rubbed her belly.

Han Ye glanced at her and knew that she must have missed the meaning in his words. He thought, "She's probably too busy to remember, but... it must be by next weekend..."

He glanced at her as he thought, "... so that you can have a happy Happy Birthday..."

She and Xiao Zhihao had been through so much lately, and even though it was against their custom to throw a party so soon after a death in the family, Han Ye was hoping to make them happy, even if it was just a little.

As he continued to drive them home, he started to plan for the upcoming birthday party.

...

Meanwhile, back at Luo Guangying and Callum's shared apartment,

After helping him clean up his bloodied hand, Callum was trying to bandage Luo Guangying's wound, but given how one of his arms was currently injured, he was having a little trouble doing it properly.

"How did you hurt your arm?" Luo Guangying asked as he looked at Callum who was sitting on the floor. He himself was sitting on the bed while Callum helped to bandage up his hand. To be honest, he felt that he would probably do a better job bandaging it himself.

"Erm... Accident," Callum said after a moment of hesitation. "It's just a small cut. My brother worried too much."

Luo Guangying raised a brow. DX? Worried too much? Just based on that, Luo Guangying knew that Callum's injury was pretty serious. If it were a small cut, DX wouldn't even care. Even if Callum were stabbed, if it wasn't serious, DX would probably tell him to put a Bandaid on it and shut up. So there was no way it was a small cut.

As he watched Callum fumble around with the bandages, he asked in a soft voice, "So... How did it go?"

Callum's hand stopped moving for a second. "He would never bother you again..." he said softly before putting on the clips to secure the bandages in place. He then smiled and looked up at Luo Guangying as he said, "And now, for the final touch..."

He lifted Luo Guangying's bandaged hand placed a kiss on the back of it. "Let me know if it still hurt, alright?"

Watching his action, Luo Guangying's face turned red from embarrassment, and he immediately pulled his hand away. "It... It doesn't hurt..."

Callum smirked and pushed himself up. He then sat next to Luo Guangying. After a moment of silence, he said in a soft voice, "I knew what he told you... and why you were so afraid..."

"What?"

Callum glanced at his lover and asked in a curious tone, "Why didn't you tell me about those pictures?"

Luo Guangying's eyes went wide open in surprise, and he immediately looked away, unwilling to answer his question.

Seeing his reaction, Callum sighed and said, "Those are my past... I was... pretty much a s.l.u.t back then."

He then laughed wryly and added, "And I got blackmailed quite often... What you saw were all the blackmail materials..."

"What?" Luo Guangying looked at him in disbelief, and his lips were slightly parted as he tried to process the information. Was he played by a bunch of blackmail materials?

"It was rather stupid of those women," Callum said with a sigh as he looked at his fingers. "I'm a man. As if I would care... But..."

He then looked at Luo Guangying and said with a regretful tone, "But had I known that one day, those photos would come back and hurt you, I wouldn't have done all those things... and I would have taken them more seriously."

Luo Guangying looked at Callum in the eyes, and he shook his head. "I should... It's my fault."

Before Callum could protest, Luo Guangying quickly placed a kiss on Callum's lips to silence him. When he parted, his face was a little red as he mumbled, "Let me finish..."

Callum looked at him. It was rare for Luo Guangying to take the initiative to talk to him, so he decided to shut up and listen. He nodded. "You talk."

Luo Guangying looked at Callum's bandaged arm, and after a brief moment of hesitation, he said, "This time... It's my fault. Letting someone play with my insecurity when I could have talked to you about it... Keeping everything to myself to the point of hurting you... Blaming you, not trusting you... Portraying my fear and imagination onto you..."

He didn't know what happened to Callum's arm, but he knew that it had something to do with him storming into the Shenlong Mansion. And he knew that Callum probably wouldn't tell him anything about the wound.

"Guangying..." Callum wanted him to stop. He did not like to see his lover in this state.

Luo Guangying smiled at Callum wryly. "If I were less of an a*s, we wouldn't have to go through all this drama. I'm sorry, Callum... I really am."

He then placed a hand on Callum's bandaged arm gently and bent down slightly to kiss it. When he sat back up, he said with a gentle smile, "The final touch... and... I love you."
