Chapter 295 - A month off work

...

Upon hearing her words, Callum was stunted for a long time, to the point that Kai Xin had to pinch his waist to see if he was still there in the mortal realm with her or if his soul had already left his body.

"Ouch!" Callum looked at her. He blinked for a few seconds before shouting, "NOOOO!"

His shout was so loud that it startled Wyatt, and the latter started to frown before crying out loud.

"Urgh," Kai Xin sighed and gently patted her son's chest to console him. "It's alright, it's alright... You're safe... Mummy's here..."

"No..." Callum groaned and buried his face in his hands. He realized now that he might have gone a little overboard when he stormed out. Kai Xin was right. All Luo Guangying said was that he wanted a break; he didn't say that he wanted to break up.

"Stupid stupid stupid!" Callum cursed himself as he hit himself in the head with the heel of his palm. "How could I be so stupid?! I shouldn't have left! I must have made his fear came true!"

Luo Guangying was so upset with Callum flirting with the waitress and hanging out with the detective... "He must have been really afraid of being left behind in the future and that must have been what spurred on his moodiness," Callum thought.

He stood up abruptly, and with his fists clenched tightly as he said with an expression that was full of determination, "I have to talk to him. I'll let him know that everything is ok."

"I doubt he would want to see you now," Kai Xin said while rocking her baby. Wyatt had stopped crying, but he was still obviously upset at being startled, so Kai Xin lowered her tone as she said to Callum, "Also, I don't think it's a good idea for you to go back now."

"Why?"

Seeing that Wyatt was still upset despite her attempts to comfort him, Kai Xin lifted Wyatt up. As she walked around with her baby in her arms, she said to Callum, "Even though you are an idiot, Guangying is not completely in the right in this case. His self-protectiveness mechanism is too strong, to the point that he's hurting your relationship."

She sighed and shook her head. She loved these two, and she knew that they were meant for each other, but for some reason, they just kept having problems in their relationship. And the problems were caused by the same reason - a lack of communication.

"What should I do then?" Callum asked with an expectant expression, as if he was hoping that his sister-in-law could solve this for him.

Unfortunately for him, Kai Xin did not intend to help more than this. "I've already told you this much. You should handle this by yourself. I love you, my dearest brother-in-law, but you need to learn how to deal with your lover by yourself. Talk to him. Learn how to get him to talk back to you. I can't always be there to help you guys out."

With that said, she left the pool area with her son, leaving a confused Callum all by himself.

....

The days went by in the blink of an eye, and soon, it was the first day of shooting.

"Should I come with you?" Han Ye asked. He was in her apartment, and he had been there since Xiao Zhihao left for school. Xiao Lei was having a dilemma on what to wear for her first appearance, and she called Han Ye over for help.

"No, I don't want to create a scandal on the first day," she replied as she looked at the clothes that were neatly placed on her bed.

"That one," Han Ye said as he pointed to a black jumpsuit that was lay on her bed, which was one of the outfits that he bought for her previously. Given that she was about to become a movie star soon, he did not think that her old clothes would be appropriate.

Xiao Lei picked up the black jumpsuit and looked at it. "You sure?" she asked with a frown.

"Yeah..." He nodded. "There's no need to wear fancy clothes. Just be comfortable in whatever you are wearing. In any case, they would give you something else to change into later on."

"I just want to make a good impression," Xiao Lei said as she lay the jumpsuit back down on the bed.

"That would be good enough. It's professional, but not overly strict. At the very least, you wouldn't scare people off, but you wouldn't come off as overly friendly as well."

Han Ye did not want her to be too friendly with people as there might be some who might take advantage of her friendliness. If people really wanted to be her friends, then they would talk to her regardless of what she was wearing.

He walked to her vanity table and looked at the sunglasses that were laying neatly on the table. After thinking for a while, he picked a classic black aviator and put it on the bed. "Wear this when you are out in the open later. Try to keep a low profile for as long as possible. I've talked to President Wei. The thing about you being pregnant would only be known by a few people, and only those who need to know about it such as the paramedics who are on standby."

Xiao Lei nodded. Even then, the information that they gave President Wei was incorrect. They did not really confirm whose children she was carrying, and they let President Wei think that the babies were Han Ye. There was less danger involved compared to if they knew that Luo Guangying and Callum were the fathers.

Xiao Lei took the jumpsuit and went into the bathroom to change. After a while, she shouted from the bathroom, "Han Ye, are you sure it's alright for me to take such a long leave?"

Since she was involved in the filming, he helped her to apply for a month off so that she could focus on the filming, and this approval came straight from DX. DX wanted her to be paid during her month off, but after Xiao Lei's vehement protest, they came to an agreement and that she would be taking an unpaid holiday.

Even so, she felt bad about leaving Han Ye without an assistant since she knew how heavy his workload was.

"Yeah," Han Ye replied while going through his phone. As he typed a reply to an email, he added, "Just have fun. It's only for one month, and I have been going without an assistant for a long time before you joined anyway, so I can definitely live for one month without your assistance at work."
