Chapter 275 - You weren't being discreet enough

Murong Yu glanced at Xiao Zhihao. He was curious as to why the boy thought so.

And Xiao Zhihao could tell what was in Murong Yu's mind, so he shrugged and said, "You guys were pretty close. I saw you pinch her butt when you thought I wasn't looking."

When he heard Xiao Zhihao's words, the man laughed out loud. "You weren't supposed to see that."

To that response, Xiao Zhihao rolled his eyes. "You weren't being discreet enough."

...

He was at Murong Yu's place the weekend his mother went to Du Family's burial ground, and when the two of them were playing video games, Li Li suddenly came into the house without even knocking, which startled Xiao Zhihao a little since she started nagging from the moment she walked in, "Murong Yu, why didn't you answer my call? Have you taken your medicines or not? You know how it gets if you don't take it on time, and-"

When she finally realized that there was a teenage boy in the house, she hesitated for a few seconds before saying in a suspicious tone, "Do you... like teenage boys now?"

"F*ck off," Murong Yu said. He put down the game controller and stood up before turning to her. "This is Xiao Zhihao."

A lightbulb lit up in Li Li's mind, and she immediately walked over to Xiao Zhihao, who stood up to greet her politely.

Li Li then placed her hands on Xiao Zhihao's cheeks. "Yes... He looks exactly like--"

"Li Li!" Murong Yu said in a warning tone. He then sighed and went to the mini-fridge that was at a corner of the living room. As he took out a few cans of soda from the fridge, he asked, "What are you doing here?"

Li Li frowned as she watched him walk back to the couch. "You didn't answer my call. I was worried about you."

"I didn't hear the phone," Murong Yu said nonchalantly. "We were busy doing man stuff."

"Yeah, I can see..." Li Li rolled her eyes. She then looked at Xiao Zhihao and said in a lighthearted tone, "Zhihao, right? Is there anything that you want to eat? Let Auntie Li Li cook for you."

"Erm..." Xiao Zhihao took a quick glance at Murong Yu, who merely shrugged. Obviously the man wasn't going to say anything, so Xiao Zhihao said politely, "You don't have to, Ms. Li Li. We are going to order Korean fried chicken. Murong Yu said he would pay for it."

"Murong Yu?" She raised a brow. "Isn't he your teacher? Is the appropriate?"

"We are out of school. He doesn't have to call me Mr. Murong," Murong Yu explained as he searched through his pile of games for something else to play with. "If you're so free, you can go and buy the ingredients and make it for us."

"I'll make it," Li Li said with a smile. She then turned to Xiao Zhihao and said, "I'm a pretty good cook. Your Dad-"

She stopped herself before she said anything else.

"Do you know my dad, Ms. Li Li?" Xiao Zhihao asked with a curious expression. He then glanced at Murong Yu. Somehow, he felt that there was something they were hiding from him.

"No... I was thinking of an old friend. Anyway," she patted Xiao Zhihao's head and said, "I'm really glad to finally meet you. Murong Yu talked a lot about you."

"He did?"

"Yeah..." She smiled lovingly at him while thinking about her old friends.

"Just go," Murong Yu said as he rolled his eyes. "Get some wine as well. There is cash in my room. You know where it is."

"Fine, fine. I'll let you boys be," she said with a sigh before going into his room. Once she got the money, she went back to the living room and asked Xiao Zhihao, "Zhihao, do you want any snacks?"

Xiao Zhihao stood up and shook his head. "Thanks, Ms. Li Li."

She frowned slightly. "Call me Aunt Li Li."

"Erm..." Xiao Zhihao's eyes went wide open.

"Call her Grandma Li Li," Murong Yu said with a teasing tone.

"Murong Yu!" Li Li snapped.

"Aunt... Aunt Li Li," Xiao Zhihao said while scratching the back of his head. After all, in their culture, it was normal for him to call someone as "auntie" or "uncle". He was only slightly taken aback because it was too sudden, and he had only just met her.

A bright smile appeared on Li Li's face as she said elatedly, "Good boy... I'll be back soon. Enjoy your date."

After she left, Xiao Zhihao sat back on the couch with a confused expression. "Ern, she is?"

"My friend."

Xiao Zhihao scoffed, "Your friend can just come and go as she pleases?"

Murong Yu glanced at him. "Do you want to play or do you want to talk?"

Xiao Zhihao thought about it for a moment before shrugging. "Play."

....

Back at the track field,

"So, are you guys dating?" Xiao Zhihao asked.

"No... Li Li is my special friend."

"Urgh, I know what that means..."

Murong Yu smirked and reached over to pat the back of Xiao Zhihao's head. "Well, your teacher is an a.d.u.l.t."

Xiao Zhihao tsked and pushed his hand away.

"Anyway, I have someone else in mind," Murong Yu said with a sad smile as he turned his eyes back on the field where five girls were running laps. "But she doesn't like me, and she keeps hiding from me. She's stupid, you know. I'm right in front of her, but she can't see me."

"Maybe you should say hi?" Xiao Zhihao said nonchalantly. "It's not that hard. You guys are just playing hide-and-seek with each other."

Murong Yu shrugged. "Stop talking about me. How about you? Are you feeling better now? You know you can always come to me if you have any trouble..."

Xiao Zhihao glanced at him for a moment before turning his gaze away. "I don't know. I-"

"Zhihao?" someone interrupted him before he could say anything else.

Xiao Zhihao and Murong Yu turned around and saw Xiao Lei, who was panting slightly. She had been running around the school, trying to look for her son, and she was almost out of breath now.

"Mum?" Zhihao stood up and looked at her. "Are you alright?"

She nodded while trying to catch her breath.

"Are... Are you," her eyes landed on Murong Yu as she said, "ok?"

"Ooopss..." Murong Yu stood up and turned around properly. He then smiled and waved nonchalantly. "Hi, nice to meet you, Mrs. Xiao."

Xiao Lei's eyes scanned him from top to bottom, and she realized something. His height was different... This was...

"Murong Yu?"

Murong Yu grinned. "Do we know each other, Mrs. Xiao?"
