Chapter 249 - Are you angry at me...?

"Hmm..." Xiao Lei's colleague sighed. "I thought that we would finally have something to talk about."

"Huh?" Xiao Lei looked at her colleague with a curious glance. "Talk about what? Mr. Han?"

In order to maintain a professional relationship, Xiao Lei would only call Han Ye by his name when they were alone. As long as there was someone there and that they were in a professional setting, she would refer to him as "Mr. Han" like everyone else. Well... she would also call him "Mr. Han" whenever she was angry with him.

Ding!

The lift door opened, and Xiao Lei and her colleagues walked out before they continued on their conversation.

As they walked to their working tables, the woman who was talking with Xiao Lei earlier said, "You know, I've been here for a few years, but I have never heard any rumors surrounding Mr. Han."

"Of course there is!" said a male colleague. "With President Du!"

"President Du?" Xiao Lei's curiosity was piqued.

"Before President Du got married, everyone thought that there was something between Mr. Han and President Du. It got so big that Old Madam Du would make sudden appearances every now and then."

"No way!" Xiao Lei gasped. "I've never heard of that!"

The male colleague laughed. "Everyone was betting on when they would come out when news broke out that President Du was seen kissing with a man at his birthday party."

Xiao Lei's eyes widened upon hearing that. "For real?"

The female colleague nodded. "Everyone was shocked! You know what was even more shocking?"

"What?"

Her male and female colleagues exchanged knowing glances before they said in unison, "That man turned out to be Madam President Du who was in disguise!"

"Oh!"

They continued to talk for about 15 minutes before they went back to their respective work desks. Xiao Lei was about to start working when she heard someone said, "I see you've been talking to the others."

When she looked up, she saw that it was An Xin who spoke to her earlier.

"Oh, hey, Ms. Zhen. Have you eaten?" Xiao Lei asked. Right before Xiao Lei and Han Ye went out earlier, Xiao Lei went to tell An Xin that she would not be joining her for lunch. Xiao Lei was worried that An Xin might skip lunch, as she was prone to do sometimes.

To her relief, An Xin nodded. "Ziyan cooked something light earlier, and he brought them over when he came to do some IT work earlier."

Xiao Lei smiled. "I'm glad that you and Ziyan are going along well."

"Well, I'm glad that you're getting along with some of the colleagues. Anyway, that's not why I'm here today."

Xiao Lei c.o.c.ked her head. "Is there anything?"

"You'd be going to the Du Family grave visit with Han Ye tomorrow, right?"

Xiao Lei nodded.

"Ziyan would be going as well since he and Han Ye are close to each other. I'm a little worried about him because of his condition, and I'm not sure if the place is wheelchair friendly. He told me that it is, but he might just be saying that for my sake."

Xiao Lei smiled and said, "I know what you want. Don't worry. I'll look out for Ziyan. I won't let any harm come to him."

An Xin blushed slightly. "Thank you. I'll owe you one."

.....

Meanwhile, Han Ye drove straight to Luo Guangying and Callum's house. Just as he was about to knock on the door, he heard a loud thud.

PLANG!

Worried, Han Ye tried to turn the doorknob, only to realize that it was not completely locked. When he walked in, he saw Callum on one knee next to Luo Guangying, who was sitting on the floor. Next to Luo Guangying was a broken photo frame.

Callum had a panicked expression on his face as he tried to take a look at Luo Guangying's right hand, which was bleeding.

As if he heard the door being opened earlier, he turned with a glare. The moment he noticed that it was Han Ye who came in, his glare softened, and he said, "Hey..."

"Is everything alright?" Han Ye asked as he took off his shoes.

"Guangying wasn't paying attention earlier and tripped himself. Do you mind getting me the small broom and dustpan from the broom closet? And the first-aid kit from the shelf in the broom closet," Callum said.

"Sure." Han Ye quickly went to get the stuff. By the time he got back, Luo Guangying was sitting on the barstool at the kitchen island as he washed the blood on his wounded hand.

"Let me help you..." Callum said softly. He was standing opposite Luo Guangying.

When he tried to reach out for Luo Guangying's hand, the man pulled back and glanced away as he murmured, "I'm fine. I'm not a child."

Han Ye felt that there was something wrong here. "Callum looks fine, but..."

As he placed the first-aid kit on the marble-top, he took a quick glance at Luo Guangying's wound. "That's pretty bad," he remarked when he saw the deep cut on Luo Guangying's palm. "Did you land on a shard when you fell earlier? I think you might need stitches for that."

"I'm fine," Luo Guangying said brusquely as he dried his hand with a clean towel. He was still bleeding, but the flow rate was a lot slower now.

When Callum took out an antiseptic ointment from the first-aid kit and tried to apply it on Luo Guangying's hand, the latter snapped, "I told you I don't need your help! Stop treating me like a child!"

Callum and Han Ye were taken aback by Luo Guanggying's sudden outburst of emotions.

"Are you angry at me, Guangying?" Callum asked softly as he looked at Luo Guangying. He did not understand what was going on. They were still fine, but ever since they went to the Shenlong Mansion to talk to his grandfather and his uncle, Luo Guangying had been a little different. "Did I do something wrong?"

"No, you didn't!" Luo Guangying turned around to face away from Callum. "I just need some time to myself. Stop bugging me."

Callum stared at his back for a few seconds before sighing softly. He then turned to Han Ye and said, "I'll go clean up the mess in the living room. Please make sure that he put the antiseptic ointment on first before. He doesn't like that, so he might try to skip that step."

Han Ye nodded while wondering just what kind of landmine did he walk into. After Callum walked away, Han Ye asked, "Did you guys fight?"

Luo Guangying did not answer him. Instead, he turned on the water at the sink and rinsed his wound under cold water for a second time.

"Are you sure you don't need stitches?" Han Ye asked with a worried voice.

Luo Guangying shook his head. "It's not that bad. I've had worse. I just need to stop the blood flow."

Han Ye did not know what to say at this moment. Luo Guangying seemed to be in a very bad mood.

"Why did he ask me to come if he's going to be like this?" Han Ye thought with a conflicted expression as he watched Luo Guangying tend to his wound like an expert.

Luo Guangying managed to bandage his hand up all by himself.

"Is your mother home? Wouldn't she be worried?" Han Ye asked as he kept the things back into the first aid kid.
