Chapter 166 - Men like his father

Due to the circ.u.mstances, as well as Little Han Xuan's age, which was under the age of criminal responsibility, the prosecutors decided not to take any actions against him. As such, he was released to Feng Ruoyun.

However, Feng Ruoyun was too afraid of Little Han Xuan. When she saw him playing with Little Han Ye after what he did, she could not help but think that one day, Little Han Xuan might get angry at her son and hurt his younger brother.

She was afraid that Little Han Xuan might grow up to be like his father.

In addition to her fear of Little Han Xuan, she was also worried that she did not have enough to take care of two kids. Little Han Xuan would need a lot of counseling sessions, and she was afraid that she could not afford it.

Hence, not long after he was released to her, Feng Ruoyun decided to place Little Han Xuan at an orphanage.

"Xiao Xuan..." Feng Ruoyun said while kneeling down on one knee in front of Han Xuan. "I..."

"I understand," Little Han Xuan said coldly. He had barely spoken a word to Feng Ruoyun since this morning. Actually, ever since that day, he did not talk much to her. Both of them knew the gravity of what he had done.

Little Han Xuan did not want to see the gaze in Feng Ruoyun's eyes; the one that was silently calling him a monster, a murderer.

"I'm sorry..." Feng Ruoyun said with a small voice. She wanted to reach out and hug him, but it felt superficial at this moment; especially when she was about to abandon him just like what his own biological mother had done to him.

"Go. I hate you!" Little Han Xuan snarled and turned around. He bit his inner cheeks so that he would not cry out. He had known this was coming for a while now. He had overheard her talking to someone at night, inquiring about the best orphanages in the country.

"Big Brother Xuan Xuan..." Little Han Ye murmured and hugged Little Han Xuan. Looking up at his older brother, he asked with a curious glance, "Why are you sad?"

Little Han Xuan clenched his fists tightly as he glanced down at the person he loved most in the world. Little Han Ye's wide, adorable eyes made this even harder than it was earlier.

"I'm not sad! Go away! I hate you!" Little Han Xuan snapped and pushed Little Han Ye, causing the latter to fall on the ground. Without even looking at him, Little Han Xuan snarled, "Both of you disgust me!"

With teary eyes, Little Han Ye murmured, "Big Brother Xuan Xuan..."

"Xiao Ye!" Feng Ruoyun quickly helped her son to get up.

"GET LOST! You guys disgust me!" Little Han Xuan yelled as he threw punches at Feng Ruoyun, causing the orphanage principal to pull him back. "I don't want to see you guys ever again!"

Overwhelmed with both sadness and guilt, Feng Ruoyun picked her son up and went to a cab that was waiting for them. They were about to move away again. Because of what Little Han Xuan did, Feng Ruoyun lost her job, and she could not find any other work in the small city.

"Bye, Xiao Xuan... Take good care of yourself..." Feng Ruoyun said sadly as she turned away from him. She did not want to leave him... but she had to think of her own son. If news were to get out that he had a brother that committed patricide, she was worried that people might be prejudiced and that Little Han Ye might not have a good future.

She placed her son into the cab and slid in after him.

"Mummy, where's Big Brother Xuan Xuan going? Why isn't he coming with us?" Little Han Ye asked as he tried to climb over his mother to get out of the car. However, his mother put him back down on the seat.

"Big Brother Xuan Xuan has to stay here for a while..." she said in a sad voice.

"Why? Big Brother Xuan Xuan is scary earlier..." Little Han Ye muttered as he looked at the back window. He could see his brother standing not far away, but when he waved at him, Little Han Xuan merely glanced away. Tears started to fall down his cheeks as he looked at his mother, "Why doesn't Big Brother Xuan Xuan love me anymore?"

Feng Ruoyun sighed and hugged her son closer to her.

"I want Big Brother Xuan Xuan! I want Big Brother Xuan Xuan!" Little Han Ye cried as he tried to push his mother away.

Looking at her son, Feng Ruoyun felt helpless. Even so, she braced herself and told the driver, "Let's go."

After the cab drove off, Little Han Xuan finally turned to look at it. He could see his brother's crying face plastered against the back window, and his heart started to throb. When Little Han Ye's face disappeared from view, Little Han Xuan bit down the bottom of his lip.

"Let's go in, Han Xuan."

The principal said while placing an empathetic hand on the boy's shoulder. He had heard of the story of why the mother left him here. It was the cruelest and kindest thing that she could do for this boy. The boy would be able to get better treatment here than if he were with his mother.

This orphanage was under the care of Du Corporation, and everyone here was trained to deal with children who came from a similar background as Little Han Xuan.

"Han Xuan?"

To his surprise, the boy pushed his hand away and suddenly ran after the cab.

"Mum! I'm wrong! Don't leave me! Please!" Little Han Xuan cried as he ran as fast as he could. He kept waving as he ran, but the cab did not even slow down. "Mum!!! Xiao Ye!!! Please come back!!! Don't leave me here!!!"

How could his little legs catch up to the moving cab? After chasing it for a while, he soon ran out of breath and fell down on his knees on the hot tar road. This was the first time he had cried in a long while; he did not even cry when his biological mother disappeared all of a sudden.

Yet...

Clutching his heart, Little Han Xuan cried loudly. His heart ached like never before, and he hated this feeling.

Feng Ruoyun was the only mother he had known, and even she abandoned him.

"Arggh! Mum!!! Xiao Ye!!! I'm sorry! I'm sorry!"

....

Head Manager Han massaged his glabella before looking at his hands again. When he was with the Shenlong Family, he worked for the assassination department. A special group within the Shenlong Family that was responsible for getting rid of the undesirables.

At that time, he killed many men man before... Men like his father... and men even more despicable than his father.

"At least he got a good life..." he murmured before his fingers clenched into fists. If his father did not die back then, then both of them might not end up where they were now. Thus, Head Manager Han had never regretted his decision...

Looking at his computer, he used a technique that he learned during his stint in the Shenlong Family and pushed away all his emotions and all the unnecessary thoughts, before checking on the hotel accounts.
