Chapter 92 - Please drop me off here

Since it was a school day tomorrow, once dinner ended, everyone decided to call it a day. While they were waiting for the butlers to bring their cars over, one of the guards from the gate reported.

"Mr. Mo is asking for permission to enter."

Kai Xin sighed and waved her hand nonchalantly. It was a gesture to tell the guard to open the door.

5 minutes later, Mo Shaoyun arrived at the foyer. When he got down, he greeted the owner of the place first. "President Du. Kai... Madam President Du."

Ever since what he did to her best friend, Kai Xin refused to be on a friendly basis with him. Whenever he tried to call her by her name like before, she would ignore him.

With a cold tone, she asked, "What are you doing here? I thought I said that we would be sending Jane back."

"I feel like I should do it," Mo Shaoyun said. He knew that it was his fault. Kai Xin had warned him against hurting Jane Chu, but not long after her warning, he did just that.

As he reached over to Jane to pick up his sleeping son, he sighed inwardly when Jane Chu still ignored his touches. It was as if she felt pain just by brushing against his skin.

When Mo Yuan felt his father hugging him, he snuggled closer to his father's body and grabbed the man's shirt as he murmured, "Daddy... Yuan Yuan protects Aunt Jane..."

"Yuan Yuan is a good boy..." Mo Shaoyun said gently as he patted his son's back. When his gaze landed on the bruises around his son's neck, he sighed softly and kissed his son's chubby cheek. He then looked at Jane Chu and with a hand out, he said, "Let's go. I'll drop you off."

Jane Chu nodded, but she did not accept his hand. She was afraid that once she touched this man, she might lose control of herself. Even if she knew that Mo Shaoyun's marriage was a sham, she could not bring herself to be with him like before... Not now, not like this.

Mo Shaoyun did not say anything, and he merely lowered his hand and moved to the car. Once he secured his son on the baby seat, he waited in the driver's seat.

Jane Chu looked at Kai Xin and said with a smile, "I'll see you soon."

Kai Xin hugged her. "Text me when you get home."

After they left, Han Ye looked at Kai Xin and said, "You need to cut the guy some slack."

"No, I don't need to cut him anything, except maybe cut out his brain and see what it was made out of. He hurt my best friend, and he should be glad that I didn't misuse my husband's power to crush him."

Han Ye laughed softly and bowed slightly before he said with a grin, "It's a good thing that the current Madam President Du is a rational person..."

Kai Xin sighed as she looked at him. "I don't know how Jane can just keep going like this. Han Ye, are you sure you are not interested in her? She's a great person, you know? A little workaholic like you, so you don't have to worry that she might be bored while you're at work. And besides, she's pretty adorable during her off-days."

Han Ye raised his hands and grinned as he said, "I'm not getting between those two. They are still in love with each other, and I'd prefer not to be hurt because that would definitely happen once they settle everything."

With a soft growl, Kai Xin cursed. She had seen how Mo Shaoyun hurt Jane Chu back then when he suddenly announced that he was engaged to another woman and broke her heart. She did not want to see her best friend in that kind of pain anymore.

Unfortunately, none of the good men she knew would accept her matchmaking effort.

She then turned to her husband, who was carrying their sleeping daughter, and thought, "I'm a lucky woman to have you."

Her dearest husband had never hurt her, physically or mentally, and he was always there for her whenever she was upset. Unfortunately, even though she wished that her best friend could have the same life, not everyone could get a husband like hers.

With a smile, she then walked over and patted her sleeping daughter as she said gently, "Aunt Jane is pretty dumb for a smart woman, right?"

"Love makes you dumb," DX said as he kissed his wife's forehead. Even after two years, the love that he had for this woman was still clearly reflected in the way he looked at her... In fact, it was even more than before.

Meeting her husband's eyes, Kai Xin smiled. She then turned to Han Ye and said, "Don't forget. If you're serious with that woman, then bring her over someday."

That was the 5th reminder since dinner, and Han Ye started to pray inwardly for the butler to come back with his car quickly.

When he noticed that Kai Xin was looking at him with her eyes narrowed, he nodded reluctantly. "Yes, Madam President Du."

Meanwhile, Tian Le and Lu Ziyan chuckled as they watched Han Ye getting bullied by his boss' wife. Tian Le secretly sighed in relief. Everyone was so engrossed in Han Ye and the surrogate matter that they did not ask much about his social life. Even Han Ye and Lu Ziyan forgot to mention about his girlfriend.

Otherwise, the one that would be bullied by Kai Xin now would be him.

....

After they dropped Tian Le off at Imperial Secondary, they headed back home.

On the way, Lu Ziyan glanced at Han Ye and asked, "Are you serious about that girl?"

"Angela? I guess so. Why? You are the one who introduced her."

"That's before I know that incident with Fan Wushuang. Would you be able to treat her normally? Now that you know that she's related to the Fan Family."

Han Ye took a deep breath and exhaled before he said, "Yeah... I thought about it earlier."

He hesitated for a second before he continued, "I'll do a background check on Angela Zhang, but I don't think she's a bad person. And regarding her relationship with Fan Chuan now... She can't help that she's related to them, and I shouldn't judge her because of it."

Lu Ziyan nodded. After a while, he asked, "I chose her because I thought her background in education would fit you, her being related to Fan Entertainment was a surprise to me since I didn't delve deeper... But why do you like her? You never pay much attention to the other women."

As he thought about Angela Zhang, Han Ye smiled gently and replied, "She reminded me of Yuexue..."

Lu Ziyan glanced at him. After a moment of hesitation, he asked, "Is that... alright?"

"What?" Han Ye glanced at the rearview mirror and when their eyes met, Han Ye asked in curiosity, "Why are you asking that question?"

"She's..." Lu Ziyan shrugged. "I just don't think it's a good idea for you to be with someone who reminds you Yuexue."

He then sighed softly. "But who am I to tell you off..."

"No, but I understand where you're coming from..." Han Ye muttered. After a moment of hesitation, he added, "I'll try to treat her as a person instead of Yuexue's replacement. Don't worry about it. I know what to do."

Lu Ziyan nodded and looked outside. About 5 minutes later, he noticed something and slapped Han Ye's shoulder absentmindedly. "Han Ye, please drop me off here."

"Huh? Why?"

"Quick!" he pestered Han Ye with an urgent tone.

Startled, Han Ye quickly checked the cars around him before he pulled to a stop next to a curb. "What's wrong?"
