Chapter 90 - Caesarean

….

When DX helped Kai Xin to walk down the stairs slowly, he saw that everyone, except his sons, Callum, and Luo Guangying, had gathered at the bottom of the stairs. Jane Chu was chatting with Lu Ziyan while she introduced Mo Yuan to the man.

Tian Le was lifting Little Monkey up and down while the little girl giggled and kept saying, "Higher! Higher!"

Mo Yuan placed a finger in his mouth as he murmured jealously, "Want want!"

He looked at Jane Chu with his puppy dog eyes, but she merely sighed and knelt down on one knee as she said gently, "I don't have the strength to carry you like that."

"I'll do it," Han Ye offered. He was talking with Old Madam Du when he overheard them. He picked Mo Yuan up and threw him up the air slightly before he deftly caught him. The little boy giggled happily as he kept saying, "More more!"

Han Ye and Tian Le stood side by side as they played with the toddlers.

After a few more throws, Han Ye let the boy rest in his arms before he said, "Yuan Yuan, Uncle Han is tired. We'll play again later, alright?"

"Ok…" Mo Yuan said with a bright smile. When he saw DX helping Kai Xin walked down the stairs, he immediately reached over to hold Little Monkey's hand. He then turned and mischievously stuck his tongue out at DX.

"That brat… Can I ban him from my house?" DX asked Kai Xin as he kept his eyes at the little boy.

When she heard her husband, Kai Xin laughed softly. "No, my dear possessive husband. You can't ban a toddler. Besides, your precious daughter needs friends."

When she arrived at the last step, she groaned slightly as she rubbed her back. "This kid is too heavy…" she complained.

"He's too comfortable in there…" DX murmured as he reached behind her to rub her back. "Are you alright? I'll tell the Old Mo to get someone to prepare the room on the ground floor. We sleep there tonight."

Kai Xin nodded. With her current pregnancy, she felt weaker than usual.

When they went to for a routine check-up yesterday, Phillip told them that they might have to do a Cesarean to get Baby Wyatt out. He feared that Baby Wyatt was too big for a natural birth, especially in view of Kai Xin's current strength level.

"Mama Zhen…" Tian Le said as he placed Little Monkey on the ground. He then walked to Kai Xin and hugged her. "I miss you," he said with a smile.

Kai Xin smiled as well as she scolded him playfully, "I know that you're busy with school, but come and visit me often. I haven't seen you for months."

Tian Le chuckled. He nodded at DX as an acknowledgment, and the other responded with a nod as well.

Their moves made Kai Xin shook her head. "You man..."

Tian Le looked at Kai Xin's protruding stomach and said, "You're almost due, right?"

She nodded. "We might be going earlier though. Phillip said that the baby's growing too big too fast for him to be comfortable with natural birth."

Tian Le nodded. When Kai Xin was pregnant with Little Monkey, there was barely any visible bumps until mid of the second trimester, but with the current pregnancy, her bump started showing when she was still in the first trimester.

"Caesarean?" the teen asked as he walked with them toward the garden where they would be having the BBQ at.

"Yeah… Normally, it would still be fine, but because of the previous complications with Little Monkey, Phillip advised us to go under the knife."

Tian Le frowned and asked, "When? Would it be safe?"

This time, it was DX who answered him, "In about 6 weeks, we are trying to get as close to the due date, if possible."

Kai Xin glanced at her husband briefly before she replied Tian Le, "Like all surgery, there's a possibility of danger, but the possibility is lesser than natural birth."

Tian Le thought for a moment before he said, "That's during my exam period, but I can-"

Kai Xin smiled and interrupted him, "There's no need, Tian Le. Focus on your exams, then you can come and see your new brother."

Tian Le ignored her and looked at DX. "Do you guys have the exact date?"

DX nodded. "Phillip gave us some dates, but I have to rearrange my schedule first. At the moment, we are not sure."

"Please send the date to me when you've narrowed it down. I'll adjust my other activities around it," Tian Le said with a serious demeanor.

DX nodded. This godson of his was always reluctant to form a bond with him, but DX understood. By the time they met, Tian Le was already 12 years old. It was hard for a preteen to form a bond with a grown man.

DX was not worried about Tian Le. He would just treat the boy like how he treated his children and his goddaughter, Quinn.

When he heard his wife m.o.a.ned softly, DX reached over to pat his wife's belly and pretended to scold his son, "You're too fat, kid. Stop kicking your mother."

Kai Xin chuckled. "He's healthy, that's all that matters."

Old Madam Du, who was walking in front of them, turned around and said, "There's no need to worry so much. Our Du boys have always been bigger in size. It's in their blood."

When Tian Le looked at DX, the latter replied, "Mixed blood. My mother is 1/16 Dutch, and on my father's side, there's an African princess and an English noblewoman. They are the ones that I can remember. Could be more."

Old Madam Du nodded. "I was so scared that I won't be able to carry XiAn to term when I was pregnant with him, but look at him now, strong as an ox!"

She then looked at Kai Xin and said gently, "Don't worry too much. Phillip is one of the best doctors in the world, and if he said that Caesarean would be better, then trust him and your baby would be fine."

Kai Xin nodded. "It's not me that's worried."

They then glanced at DX, who merely sighed. He did not want to see his wife suffer again, but this was inevitable. While they walked, he considered undergoing a vasectomy. Once Baby Wyatt arrived, he would have four kids, one goddaughter, and one godson.

There were enough kids for him and Kai Xin to worry about, and if they wanted to inherit it, the twins seemed to be capable to handle Du Conglomerate. To them, it was mostly a matter of whether they wanted to do so or not.

When they finally arrived at the garden, they went to join everyone at the long table. The smell of BBQ entered their noses and caused everyone to urge the staff to cook faster.

Not long later, the twins joined them. Their hairs were wet still wet; it was obvious they rushed over after showering. While they took their seats, Lyle said, "Sorry, we got delayed because Jack refused to admit defeat."

Jack glared at his brother but did not retort because it was true.
