Chapter 297 - What's Wrong with Me?

Within a week following their arrival in Beijing Lu Fang left for France and Andrea never felt more alone than ever having just had their honeymoon.

She kept herself busy by keeping in touch with Andres Island's managers and Isabella. She also reviewed the projects for Global China on behalf of Lu Fang, occasionally dropping by Lu Wei Enterprises.

Yeong had informed her that he would ask Yanmei's hand in marriage. That was the reason for them to meet Yanmei's parents in two weeks, just in time for Lu Fang to arrive. Hopefully, they will fly to Guangzhou together.

The ambiance in the office felt better for Andrea. The lips of those who gossipped about her were sealed. Not only were their executives and personal secretaries invited to the wedding, but a few of the media were also there.

Days after the celebration, the print media publicly announced that the previously thought of most eligible bachelor in the city was already married and had been for nearly two years.

Still, Andrea cared less about other people's opinions. She was used to living in the shadows, but she knew Li Wen was overjoyed that her wedding was finally realized. She was officially recognized as Lu Fang's wife.

She was reading one of the magazines that featured their wedding at Lu Fang's office and her heart warmed at the captured photos. There were pictures of when they both cried as they gave their vows and it made her miss him dearly. It had only been three days since he left, yet it felt like weeks that they were apart.

Andrea took out the calendar and marked each passing day. She told herself, "Eleven days to go."

Every day they would call each other and have a video call with the twins. Alfred was also with Lu Fang during the first week of his stay in France. He happily joined every call, adoring his grandchildren altogether.

"Andy, the children are growing beautifully. When are you going to have another child? Maybe you can consider living in Europe as the children grow old," said Alfred.

"Eh, no dad. Thanks but no thanks. I prefer staying here in China. We can go there on vacation for a month or two but not necessarily live there," replied Andrea. "About having a child. We are not necessarily holding back. So if it comes, it will come."

Alfred was happy to hear that he may have another grandchild. He already missed the Chevre and Brie. He could not be any more excited for them to grow up and call him grandfather.

Karen, the twin's nurse, was helping Andrea carry the babies as they say hi to Lu Fang and Alfred. After minutes of chatting, Aunt Rosa arrived to help get the twins their bath. Alfred also bid goodbye after that, ready to take his rest.

It was nighttime in France. Andrea and her husband remained online. While holding her laptop in the living room, she was munching on some reddish-yellow fruit and Lu Fang noticed it. He frowned and asked, "What are you eating?"

"Red lady papayas. It's very crunchy."

The man curiously asked, "Is that already ripe? What are you dipping it with?"

A: "It's ripe but not quiet. I had to get Arti to buy these for me downtown. I tried it once when one of your secretaries offered me some and I was hooked. I've been eating these for four days now. I'm addicted. Seriously. You pair it with salt, vinegar and a dash of chili."

LF: "It's the first time I've seen you eat that. I did not know you liked vinegar."

A: "I did not know either. Well… New things."

Lu Fang was in deep thought as he watched his wife eat away. He asked, "Babe, could you be pregnant?"

After chewing down a stick of papaya, she responded, "No, babe. I am having my period. Though, I think I need to get checked. It's not a heavy flow, just small ones, and it's already been a week."

The man dismissed his suspicion after that and ended their call shortly. He honestly thought she would get pregnant, especially since they had not controlled themselves.

Their routine continued to be the same as days went by. Andrea had completely marked all fourteen days on the calendar, hoping for Lu Fang's return. Sadly, however, he needed to extend his stay, and she was all gloomy going to Guangzhou without her husband.

Hanxi came with her while the twins were left with Christina at the old mansion. Yeong promised it would only be a one-day event and that she would be back to Beijing the next day.

After meeting Yanmei's parents, Andrea felt very tired. She had not been resting well when she learned Lu Fang could not come home on time. Plus, today she woke up early to bring the twins to the old mansion before leaving for the airport with Hanxi.

As they were wrapping things up during dinner, Andrea felt dizzy. She turned to Li Wen and swore her vision was fading. Suddenly, everything went black for her.

"Andy? Andy!" Li Wen called while holding her up.

The siblings and Hanxi were in a panic. It wasn't too long ago that they had recovered Andrea and now she fell unconscious before them. They hurriedly brought her to the hospital and immediately called Lu Fang.

Andrea woke up the next day in a hospital bed. She turned to find her husband holding her hand, sleeping face down as he sat next to her. "Babe? How come you are here?"

The man woke up abruptly, stood up and hugged her tightly. He let out a heavy sigh before saying, "I'm so relieved you are awake. You've been sleeping for almost twenty-four hours. I was so worried. I left France immediately, the moment I heard."

Lu Fang sat on the hospital bed to face her properly and asked, "You haven't lost your memories right?"

"No. I think I remembered almost everything… I told you, I have gradually remembered," she said as she pulled him closer to her. She gestured for him to lie next to her and she rested on his chest. "Babe, I'm never leaving you, nor am I going to forget you again. I swear on my life."

A tear fell down her face as she wrapped her arms around him. She said, "I missed you so much. I want to apply as your bodyguard again so I can come with you anywhere."

It did not take long for her to cry uncontrollably and it made Lu Fang chuckle. "Babe, don't you think you are being overly dramatic?"

"I don't know. I don't even understand myself - "

"Well, I know exactly what's wrong with you," Li Wen cut off Andrea as she walked into the room. "You were asleep when the doctor came."

"What's wrong with me?" Andrea asked while holding tight to her husband's arm.

"Nothing! Nothing is wrong with you," Li Wen said as she crossed her arms against her chest. "You are simply… Pregnant with triplets!"

The couple's face paled when they heard the word triplets. Their mouths hung open, unable to speak their minds. Lu Fang especially recalled the sleepless nights of changing the twin's diapers and feeding them every two hours. Now they were having triplets?

After seconds, they heard Li Wen broke into a hysterical laugh. "Oh my gosh. You should see your faces. Haha! That is what you get for being too horny!"

Andrea frowned at her sister. She felt there was something off at how she said it. She then recalled how she asked the doctor to instruct them to hold off having sex for a year. It was then she realized Li Wen may be bluffing again.

After calming herself down, Li Wen finally said, "I'm just kidding. It's only one baby. Congratulations to us. I have another niece coming!"
