Chapter 209 - Nancy's Doing

The motion of the airplane landing awoke Lu Fang. He checked his watch; it was still half an hour passed one o'clock in the morning, China time. It would have been already 5:30 AM in the UK, but they seemed to have arrived earlier than expected.

"Have we arrived?" Asked Christina as she lightly rubbed her eyes to wake herself up. She yawned as she sat up from her inclined seat. She glanced at her son who was staring intensely at the window. It was oddly foggy outside.

"This is definitely not the UK, mom," said Lu Fang.

He called for one of Alfred's men who sat behind them to check with the pilot and came back saying; they needed to make an emergency landing, and that something was wrong with the engine.

When the plane had finally settled, Lu Fang went to talk to the pilots himself but to his surprise, the door was locked from the inside. He kept on knocking but there was no response.

Alfred's men also became anxious and asked the man to step aside as they try to force the door open. There were two other armed men on the aircraft with them, both were their bodyguards plus two pilots to man the plane.

As they were at it, one of their escorts fell to the floor, wounded with a bullet to his torso. A few shots followed immediately alerting Lu Fang and the other fellow. They took cover as soon as they realized it was a silenced gun.

"Fang, what  - Ahh! - What is going on?" Christina asked fearfully.

"Mom, stay covered. I'm not sure what is going on, but we need to stay hidden."

Minutes passed, and it seemed like the perpetrator had run out of ammo. Lu Fang and the other escort signaled each other to wait. The two of them took extra precautions as they stepped closer to the cockpit. Unfortunately, the other man was lying lifeless on the floor, having been shot multiple times.

Christina took a peek and was already in tears at the sight of everything. Still, she held down her voice and covered her mouth, trying to avoid giving away her location.

The door from the cockpit slowly opened and came out a gun which was held by one of the pilots. Lu Fang immediately revealed himself and grabbed the pilot's wrists, lifted him on his shoulders and swung him across the seats. It made him lose the hold on the pistol.

Alfred's security quickly tried to seize the pilot, but he fought back. He ended up being put unconscious by the bodyguard.

Lu Fang went to check inside the flight deck and found the other pilot dead.

"F**k," he cursed at the sight of the poor fellow. He was about to check on his phone and call Alfred when he saw from the glass window several cars coming their way.

He opened the aircraft's plugged door and hastily ran to the side of the runway together with his mother and the other man. As the area had no obstruction, they were easily seen.

Despite the obvious, their pursuers did not fire at them. It made the other security realized they were after Lu Fang and Christina and they needed them alive.

"Mr. Lu, they are clearly after both of you. I will hold them back from here." He then pointed out to the fence and instructed, " try your best to get over that side and find a good hiding place."

"Alright."

They ran as fast as they could, not looking back and reached the fence soon after. Thankfully, the island's runway was a modest one.

They eventually headed to a section where vegetation was evident, hoping to lose their chasers. Lu Fang found a location with large boulders of rock piled together. He instructed Christina to take cover from there as he took down their opponents one by one.

The man fought with his bare hands, snapping the necks of four pursuers one at a time.  When he saw more coming their way, he had no choice but to use the pistol he took from the deceased escort. Whenever he missed a vital point he'd come at them with his powerful punches, leaving them unconscious in a matter of minutes.

Lu Fang had completely lost it. His rage was beyond reason as he feared for his life and that of his mother's, worried about not seeing his wife and children again.

"Stop! I said stop!" Yelled the man behind him. Lu Fang was throwing his bloody fists at his attacker when he heard someone call out to him. He did not listen and continued to punch until he heard his mother scream.

"Ahhhh! Ahhh! Ahaah... Please, please don't hurt us! Please."

"I said stop or I will kill your mother!"

The man saw his mother bled from the arm, making her scream in pain altogether.

It pained Lu Fang to give in to their demand, but his mother was fragile and wounded. He had no choice but to raise his hands and pay heed to their warning.

A man came up behind him and injected him with an unknown medication. "What was that?!" He yelled as he raised his fists, once again ready to make damages.

"Uh, uh, uh. Move and your mother gets another stab wound!" Yelled the unknown man. He was holding Christina in his arm while pointing a knife at her with his other hand.

Lu Fang gritted his teeth at this man in front of him. He swore to make him pay for eternity when their roles have reversed.

After a long ten-hour flight, Andrea made it to Ushant Island. It dismayed her not to find her adoptive father at the airport, but she later learned that the captors had requested for ransom.

She stood in the middle of the runway while holding closely her phone. Although she hoped, her gut feeling told her it was all Nancy's doing. Only a few individuals knew of Christina's return. Only Nancy would be so obsessed with wealth that she dared to ask for almost every cent that Alfred could produce in a short amount of time.

Her father could not make it to the island just yet. He needed to come up with the money as a back-up plan, in case Andrea failed. Before she ended the call she told Alfred, "Dad, there is no failing when it comes to me, but thank you for willingly giving up the Davies' wealth. I'll let you know when I find them."

"You do realize, this is Nancy's doing. Please tell Gabe, there is no mercy for her this time."
