Chapter 205 - Yanmei's POV Attracted

Yanmei and Andrea were chatting in the living room when her friend broke the news.

"Yanmei, I'm so sorry to tell you this, but I think I may have misunderstood my brother," Andrea said.

"What do you mean?"

"The thing is, I've always wondered why he hated women, but recently, I found out from Han-joon that his last female secretary confessed and tried seducing him. That was how he made it a point to make every woman feel his callousness."

Andrea revealed how starting a family concerned Yeong due to the nature of his business. She covered the fact that the Yeongs were into firearms production and often made enemies as a result.

At that point, Yanmei's head went back to when Yeong was at her apartment. She flushed over the fact that she had walked around merely wearing her silk sleeping gown, how she cupped her breast in front of him and how she was absolutely certain she had scratched her behind in his presence.

Yanmei saw Yeong differently after her talk with Andrea. Whenever they were together for work, her unconscious self often stared blankly at his ruggedly handsome face and thought the scar on his brow made him look extra manly.

Yeong occasionally grew his beard up to one centimeter long, but never more than that and Yanmei found it remarkable how particular he was with just about everything; from his clothes and up the kind of car he used, she had practically memorized the sequence of how he alternately switched every so often.

Mondays to Wednesdays were black, white and gray attire, blue and white on Thursdays, beige and white combination on Fridays. Only on weekends did she see him in long-sleeve formal shirts. Even during their stay in Beijing, he wore the same colored suits or shirts.

During Yeong's Fight with Lu Fang,  Yanmei saw clearly his well-built torso, sensational lean waist, six-pack abs, and muscular biceps. Needless to say, it added to her interest.

As the fight progressed, she understood what Andrea meant. It was in the way Yeong carried himself at the match that she realized; he was definitely not gay.

Although she was awed by his exceptional ability to defend himself, she was more concerned about how Yeong was hurt. She found herself frowning the entire time.

When she aided in treating his wounds, she got to see him half-naked up close. It made her nervous, but she tried her best to keep calm. She inwardly complimented, 'Woah, they look extra pleasing.'

"Anton Yeong, you should be as loving as Andrea and Lu Fang towards Yanmei. She might get tired of your lack of affection and leave you." She heard Yeong Soon say.

Instinctively, they looked at each other and found herself drowning in his light brown eyes. She hurriedly looked away, pretending to arrange the medicine kit next to her.

"I don't know what you are talking about mom, I am affectionate towards Yanmei. See?" Yeong pulled Yanmei by the waist, making her lose her balance and ended up sitting on his lap.

She briefly studied the side of his face down to his neck. The way his veins were visible and the way his adam's apple moved as he spoke. It made her gulped altogether.

Worse, her hands rested on his lean chest when he pulled her over. Her heart fluttered. Yanmei fully realized she was attracted to him. She immediately pushed herself up. "Yeong, let me get up. Your legs are sore."

Yanmei stayed away from men, swore not to trust them after her parent's divorce. Now, she ended up appreciating one who was cold as ice. She couldn't have picked a better man. She knew she had to end it before she fell deeper into this situation.

"Anton Yeong, we need to break up."

"What?"

"We can't keep deceiving your parents like this? Are you really not planning to have any relationship at all - a real one?"

"I don't know. My world is too complicated. I don't know if any women would be willing to live the same complications as I do."

Yanmei looked down at her hands, curious about what he meant. Her mouth opened, wanting to say more when she heard him say, "Most women I meet are irritating. You are the first one I've met who is not annoying. Huh, too bad you are not into men. Come on, let's eat. You are hungry right?"

As they ate, his words played in her head. She kept asking herself, 'Had I had told him the truth that I was straight, did that mean he might actually like me?'

During their last trip to Lu-Wei Enterprises' project location, Gao Rou accompanied them and they both had an enjoyable conversation about Xia Ting's birthday party. All throughout the visit, Gao Rou kept approaching her, asking just about anything. She found it strange, but since she knew him already, she did not mind chatting.

Yanmei noticed that Yeong gave her cold stares during the entire trip and after Gao Rou dropped them off at their hotel, he immediately blurted out, "Have you changed preference lately? You seemed awfully comfortable speaking with Gao Rou."

She instantly felt apprehensive, being reminded of how he hated women showing affection towards men. She thought, 'I hope I did not give away my absolute preference.'

"No! Gao Rou and I are just friends. I still like women, "she promptly protested and left him at the hotel lobby.

When they returned to Korea, the more it became complicated. Gao Rou continued calling and texting her out of the blue and this did not escape Anton's keen senses.

One time, as she was reporting to Yeong at his office, Gao Rou called interrupting her flow. She quickly turned her mobile in silent mode while telling him who it was.

He stood up from his desk and came in front of her to ask, "You and Gao Rou had become too familiar with each other, are you really a lesbian? Maybe you say that you are into women but deep down, you like men?"

"I don't know what you are taking about Yeong, we are simply friends. I mean, we have been hanging out a lot due to our pretend relationship, it doesn't mean I like you... I mean, I would never like you!"

She wasn't sure if it was because she had been found out or if she hurt his ego. Yeong became blunt after that day and started telling her to focus on work rather than taking phone calls and texting.
