Chapter 193 - Girl, You Look Fine

Lu Fang was outside the Hospital's Nursery looking through the glass window. He carefully observed how the nurses and midwives were looking after the babies. After eyeing possible candidates, he asked to speak a pediatric resident and together identified the most experienced and caring nurses or midwives.

He went straight to the hospital administration's office and spoke to the head. Naming one nurse and one midwife, he said, "I want you to release these two and instruct them to work for me moving forward. I will double their salaries and compensate the hospital for their immediate resignation."

The hospital administrator gulped at the man's request. It was bad enough that good medical practitioners were difficult to come by. Here came their biggest supporter and donor asking to employ two of their best. She tried to convince him otherwise, "Mr. Lu, surely you do not need a nurse or midwife. You can easily hire a nanny -"

"I want the best for my children. Also, I am fully aware of how the hospital conducts a background check of all employees," said the man as he smiled confidently before adding, "here is the check for the compensation and I've already arranged for your son's tuition to be paid in full. My assistant is already at his school as we speak."

The administrator's mouth hung open for a second. Recovering from the shock, she immediately smiled, nodding to Lu Fang's offer. How could she refuse such a generous grant?

Lu Fang and Andrea would have loved to take care of the twins just on their own. They were a very private couple and found it difficult to share their space with someone they barely knew. However, the truth was undeniable. They had twins, and they were both busy individuals with businesses to run. They needed help and they could afford it. So why not?

Doctor Qi had given Andrea's discharge orders on their third day at the hospital. Finally, the couple and the babies were heading home. The nurse, Karen, came with them while the midwife intended to follow the next day.

Xia Yanmei and Yeong Soon showed up to visit the babies in the afternoon at the couple's penthouse suite. It was the perfect opportunity for Andrea and Yanmei to catch up with their talk about Yeong. Mommy Soon was more than willing to keep the twins company as the two ladies have some talk in the living room.

Unless they were feeding with Andrea, the babies slept most of the time, but Yeong Soon was happy to just stare at them, take pictures and sing them lullabies, should they wake up for a moment.

"Where is Lu Fang?" Asked Yanmei.

"Dozing off. He took the chance since the nurse promptly joined our growing family."

Aunt Rosa walked in with Yanmei's coffee and a glass of milk for Andrea. "Here you go... Andy, no coffee for you or let's keep it at a minimum while you are breastfeeding."

Andrea smiled and placed her palms against her cheeks. She jealously peeked at Yanmei's coffee savoring the aroma, but she already had one round earlier and knew she had to hold herself back.

"I'll be preparing your dinner in the kitchen. Just let me know if you need anything."

"So… How exactly did this relationship between you and Yeong start? I want to know how it all went down."

Yanmei gasped at the query. She thought this was already over, but apparently, Andrea was not settled from their last conversation.

A heavy storm hit Korea and Yeong had been trying to contact Yanmei for the past thirty minutes. He could not get through. As he watched the news, he picked up that some apartment buildings lost power, and he wondered if her apartment had a generator.

Yeong Soon also asked him if Yanmei was fine and that ultimately prompted him to leave, heading towards her apartment. The road was barely visible because of the heavy rain, but he made it.

The moment Yanmei's door opened he took a step back, seeing her in her sleeping wear. She had a silk robe on top of her nightgown, but the plunging neckline showed off her more skin than he expected. It was also the first time he saw her face freshly washed without makeup.

"Yeong? What are you doing here? I told you I could not come to work because of the storm. Was it necessary for you to come and pick me up?" Yanmei could only think it was work-related. There was no other reason for him to be here.

Yeong scratched his eyebrow, listening to her complain. He looked down and placed both hands on his hip before answering, "I also have a heart. Yanmei. I look after those who give me added benefits."

Yanmei's eyes widened and responded, "So if I weren't beneficial, I would not get this special visit?"

"Nevermind that. I just came to check on you but seeing you are doing fine, I'll be heading back." He turned his back without waiting, leaving Yanmei baffled.

She fixed herself a cup of warm chocolate drink and sat on the sofa when she heard her doorbell ring again. It had been half an hour since Yeong left and she wondered who could it be. When she peeped through the hole viewer, she opened the door immediately.

"What happened to you?"

Yeong was standing in front of her, completely drenched.

"I drove. I could not see. I left the car. I'm here."

'Wow! How brief,' she told herself.

Realizing she was just staring at him, she hurriedly let him inside. "Come in! I'll get you a towel."

She directed him to the bathroom where he can take off his clothes as she went to her dresser to fetch a robe.

When she came back to give him the only clothing she could find that would fit him, Yeong asked, "Don't you have any other kind of robe? You know, the kind that actually helps dry you off?"

Yanmei only extended her hand by the bathroom door so to avoid seeing him possibly half-naked or worse. "I'm sorry. I only have silk robes. You can use the towel to dry yourself."

Stepping out of the bathroom, Yanmei could not help but laugh at the strong and muscled man wearing a red silk robe up to his lower thighs. She definitely admired his physic body that she blurted out, "Girl, you look fine! Haha! Let's have some chocolate drink and some girl talk while we get your clothes in the laundry."

'Girl talk?' Yeong wondered, completely puzzled.
