Chapter 128 - Two Sacs

A secret agent.

Project Zero.

The added particulars of their soon to be daughter-in-law took Lu Wei and Christina by surprise. Lu Jie especially thought, it was beyond what he had predicted.

"Mom," Andrea turned to Christina and said, "The truth is, I think this was the main reason why the Davieses adopted me… but know that I have no regrets. Dad, took care of me well… It's just that Nancy and I, we did not see eye to eye."

Mrs. Lu felt ashamed hearing this and sympathized, "I'm sorry that the Davieses had added to the weight on your shoulders, Andy –"

"No, the Davies family did us a favor…. One of the member's of Project Zero could have adopted Andy. Without knowing it, the Davieses protected her from them, " said Li Wen.

"Does this project still exist?" Curiosity got to Lu Fang. If it had anything to do with Andrea, he wanted to know everything and make necessary preparations.

"The project was destroyed. As far as my investigation goes, it would seem like the test subjects retaliated. However, our brother, Antong Yeong had received reports of families belonging to the project being abducted or killed."

Li Wen paused for a moment before making it clear to everyone. "We know little as of now, but this is primarily the reason why we keep our identities hidden and we hope that you will do the same."

"Or else… we'd have to kill you."

"..."

"Haha! I'm just joking. Knowing Gabriel's Den, I am confident that the Lus will be our most trusted ally."

Everyone laughed along with Li Wen after that, relieved that their lives were not in any true danger.

"Anton Yeong? How is he related to the arms manufacturer in Korea?" asked Lu Jie.

"Oh… haha. He's their only son… Well… adopted son. My brother is running the Yeong Empire in Korea," Andrea eagerly told. She was very proud of her older brother.

The old man could not help but gasp at how she said it so casually. He used to underestimate Andrea, but apparently, she is a family to the Xias and also connected to a powerful folk in Korea.

"Wow…" Lu Wei exclaimed.

Realizing the importance of his future brother-in-law, the man pursed his lips and began planning to win him over. Andrea had already told him about Yeong's apprehension about getting involved in a relationship.

"Oh, there is no need to be wowed over it. The Xias and the Yeong's combined wealth is just maybe…" Andrea counted numbers on her head while looking up, "maybe half of the Davies'?"

She then turned to Christina and said, "Mom is the most powerful one here."

"Pfft… It's been such a long time. I don't even know what Alfred has done with the business."

After zeroing out all the parked questions of Andrea's life, it was time to head to the hospital and confirm everyone's suspicion. Lu Jie and Lu Wei stayed behind to prepare for their flight that evening so only Christina and Li Wen accompanied the couple.

As they were waiting for their turn, a nurse came to interview Andrea.

"Ms. Li, when was the first day of your last menstruation?"

She thought back, but just before she could answer, the man beat her to it.

"It was the 27th of last month."

The nurse turned to the man with a blank expression and noted it down.

"Aside from vomiting, what are other symptoms that you may have had?"

"Weight gain."

"Sleeping."

Lu Fang answered all information in seconds leaving her absolutely no opportunity to reply.

Andrea turned to him and wondered, "Babe, I don't recall sleeping a lot. Have I?"

"Babe, you have been taking afternoon naps in the office in the past few days."

It was then that she realized, her man was very attentive when it came to her. Except for her past, he practically knew her better. He knew downright everything from her mannerisms to the favorite food and even the size of her underwear. Just that thought of it melted Andrea's heart.

She hugged him by the waist and rested her chin on his shoulder before giving praise, "Babe, you are amazing."

Despite not understanding where the came from, he hugged her back with an arm pressing her tightly against his chest.

Lying down in the hospital bed, Andrea waited while the doctor prepared for a transvaginal ultrasound. The man stood next to her holding her hand excited and nervous at the same time.

Lu Fang kept peeping at the screen hoping to see for himself if he would be a father or not, but to his dismay, it beyond his comprehension. His discontent was too obvious that the doctor laughed at him.

"It looks like we have a very excited father, here."

Andrea giggled and replied, "Yes, he is."

"Well, congratulations! We definitely have an embryo sac here," said the doctor as she pointed out to a small black mass on the screen. "You are definitely pregnant!"

"Phew…" The man let out his relief.

"But just so you know, there is a second sack. However, it doesn't seem to have a yolk… I just don't want to get your hopes up."

They both fell confused.

"We are sorry doctor, but what does that mean?" asked Lu Fang.

"It means that if the second sac develops, you'll have a twin. If it doesn't, still, you'd be blessed with one lovely child," the doctor grinned then reminded that a follow-up check-up must be done especially on the undeveloped sac.

The couple was taken aback after learning that they may have twins. Lu Fang thought if both babies develop well and they would have twins each time, they would only need to go through, maybe three pregnancies.

"Doctor, how can one have triplets or maybe more?"

"Lu Fang!"

"Ahh!" He was punched in the right arm.

Andrea frowned at him thinking, 'how dare he expect me to hold my breath that many times!'

As they were getting ready to step outside the ultrasound room, the man remembered one very important detail.

"Doctor, there is just one very significant matter that we need to address."

"Yes?"

"Can… Can we still do it?"

The doctor smiled recalling Li Wen's instruction then answered, "Considering that you may have twins. No, not for the entire nine months of pregnancy and even shortly after giving birth. You will most likely have to wait for a year to do it again."

Lu Fang gulped and said to himself, 'We definitely need a second opinion.'
