Chapter 79 - Anton Yeong

Walking into the corridors of Yeong's underground base, Andrea has been trying to suggest concluding their visit to Yamamotos' hideout at dawn. She had told her brother that she needed to be back by Saturday morning in Beijing.

"Andy, why are you being impractical? We need to be physically and mentally prepared for this attack. You both must be tired having arrived just tonight. Moreover, the drive to the location will take 2-3 hours."

"We will strike tomorrow evening!"

Her brother's message was solid enough to make the two figures turn silent. Hanxi did not mind waiting, but he knew his sister was uneasy leaving Lu Fang behind.

Anton Yeong, a.k.a Anton Li, is 5 years older than Andrea. When he was adopted, he had used Yeong instead of Li as his last name. He had been managing the biggest empire in Korea in the last 10 years.

Aside from solely owning the biggest arms manufacturing and Dealership Company in the country, the Yeongs held shares in other major corporations, giving him no time for socialization, family bonding or even a drink for himself.

Unlike the two female siblings, Anton Yeong was cold and ruthless in his business. Most often than not, he only gives a blank expression that Andrea herself had not seen him smile since they had reconnected.

The upbringing of their biological father had already turned him into stone. Although he had a caring foster mother, his perspective in life could no longer be changed. He swore never to have a family and inflict them with the same hazards as their parents have. He despised their parents especially his father for giving him and Andrea a difficult life as children and even until now, they continue to live dangerously.

Everyone in the base called him Yeong instead of Anton. He never liked to be called by his first name as it reminded him of their late father.

"But, Yeong – "

"No." Her brother continued to walk completely ignoring her plea.

"Brother? Yeong, please. Me and Hanxi? We had a good rest on the plane."

Irritated, he turned to Hanxi and asked, "Why is she adamant to return early? Haven't she even considered spending a birthday with her brother?"

"Ahhh…. Haha! She has a subject to protect! Yes, that's right." Hanxi answered so reluctantly that Yeong could see right through him.

"What's the name of the subject?"

Xio Hanxi kept rolling his eyes pretending to forget the name.

Before Andrea could find another excuse for her behavior, her phone rang and she could tell who it was calling. The trio was now standing in the hallway, looking at each other.

'If I answer this call, Yeong will kill me. I don't answer this call, I will get punished either way… just not the painful kind.' She weighed the consequences and to chose the latter.

All of a sudden, she pretended to feel dizzy. "Hanxi, I don't seem to feel well, please take me to my room."

"You are right, Yeong. I think I'm having a jet lag. We will leave first thing in the morning instead."

Yeong's eyes turned dark seeing the duo escape before him and thought, 'A jet lag from China to Korea? My sister loses some brain cells when lying to me.'

Before going to slumber that night, Andrea called Lu Fang to apologize. The man did not take it lightly and asked that she finish her business soon and make-up for every minute she was away. She knew exactly what the man was talking about and blushed at the thought.

"Babe, I promise. This is the only and very last time I will ever leave your side. Goodnight."

"I love you too."

In another room, Anton Yeong was listening in to their conversation. After learning his sister was saying freaking words like "I love you", it disgusted him to the core. He never understood relationships, much more saying sly words making one look weak and fragile. He then called for his best asset and said, "Find out about this man, Lu Fang."

"Yes, Yeong."

"Follow her to Beijing on her return."

"Affirmative, Yeong."

The next day, Andrea had already called Lu Fang to let him know she was going to get shot at the entire day and she may not have time to make any calls until the next morning. What made matters worse, was that Go Bolin had met an accident the night before and was rushed to the hospital. Lu Fang was left with no love and no assistant. The consequences of this unfortunate event left all employees of Lu-Wei Enterprises working additional hours, having their deadlines moved forward without notice.

The Yamamotos were old crime families. They had involved themselves with just about anything. However, most of their income came from drug money, kidnapping, and illegal gambling.

They had just fled to Beijing on the year of the murder trying to escape a lawsuit in Japan. They had decided set up a small casino and the approval of the business permit went through Mr. Xio. When he denied the application, they had threatened his life. This did not startle him in any way and even went public with the threats. As a result, it aggravated the head of the Yamamoto family ordering for his death, involving Mrs. Xio in the process.

Unfortunately, justice was just too slow and there was no sufficient evidence suggesting that the Yamamotos had hired Kanzo Sato, despite him being one of their loyal subjects. Immediately after the incident, Kanzo went into hiding and it did not take long for the Yamamotos to flee the country.

That night, the plan was simple and easy. Yeong figured, bringing his men would only cause unnecessary weight on their mission. So only the three of them went together with his apprentice, Kim Ha-joon.

The three men were to silently eliminate the guards until no one was left, incapacitate and capture the family members for Hanxi to finish them off. Andrea was to stand guard as their sniper in case any surprises arrive.

Andrea took a deep breath before looking into the lens of her sniper rifle and said, 'Finally Hanxi, this chapter of your life will be finished and you can move on.'
