I smiled at Derick.

"You can taste this and know how delicious my cooking is," he said.

I remembered Rhio. He said he was never born to be a chef.

"Let me taste."

I tasted the pork stew that he made. It was indeed delicious. I nodded at him.

"You really changed."

"Why? Is Dad a bad person before?"

"Whenever your daddy makes a fuss, it always return to him."

"And that's why I wasn't able to marry your Auntie Jasmin."

Derick surely was a cheesy punch line expert.

"Dad...there was someone outside earlier," Aby said.

I peered outside the window and saw the darkness of the night.

"Passers-by I think," Derick said.

Suddenly, my heartbeat was fast. I chugged some water and wondered why.

Two days passed after we found Jasmin but Rhio still acted indifferent. He talked less about it and the only difference I've seen in him was his constant drifting into deep thoughts.

As if exorcised by the name Kevin, his spirit came back.

He picked up the telephone and answered it enthusiastically.
