CHAPTER 250

@International_Pen

((( ZHIO )))

"Just tell me you didn't want me to leave your side."

"I just want to finish the food, Mister."

I pinched her nose again,

"I would leave you until the plates were empty."

"You really like pinching my nose, don't you? It's gotten more aquiline than the last time I remembered."

I spoon-fed her again.

"I love you so much Claire." She looked at me and smiled,

"You've gone crazy."

"Maybe," I laughed.

"I love you too."

"You've gone crazy too."

"I'm serious. So don't do anything that could turn me off. I'm easily turned off."

"Turned off or not, I wouldn't let you leave."

"Your little horns grew again…I heard."

"Heard from whom?"

"The maids…I heard it was because of what happened to me. Is that right?"

"Oh that? I'm hunting those motherfuckers who---"

"What did you do to them?"

"Nothing yet. I'm still completing their gang."

"Zhio!" I chuckled,

"You're worried for them? They're the reason why our baby almost died."

"Zhi---"

"Please Claire. I don't want us to argue about them. And today isn't the time for you to think about those bastards, okay?"

"…and about Derick…."

I frowned, "You're thinking about him?"

"Not really. But he's innocent. He's not at fault."

"If that fucker didn't take you there, none of it would've happened," I lifted another scoop of food up her mouth,

"Now eat this…" She's still pensive.

"Don't think about them Claire." She nodded but I wasn't convinced by it.

My phone suddenly rang.

It was Deo. I didn't want to answer the call but…

"It's important Zhio. You have to answer the call,"

Claire held my hand.

She nodded again but smiled bitterly.

I took the call but what I've heard was…

What the fuck was that?

(DEO)

The pile of urgent workloads got us to overtime in the office. But in the middle of the night, a loud shattering sound interrupted our focus.

"What's that?"

"Sir," an employee looked at me curiously, "the big frame of the Founder fell."

I walked to where the huge portrait was.

Shards of broken glass were littered on the floor and the old picture of the Zel Cantheliz Corporation's founder stared at me forebodingly.

But that portrait was tightly fastened to the wall.
