(ERIEZ)

Zhio's brows knitted at my words.

"Are you bullshitting me?"

"No," I smiled even more widely.

"I want to celebrate your success as a Zel Cantheliz."

"I don't remember any success from the company that's worth that happiness of yours. What is it really?"

"Mission accomplished my boy!"

"Tell me straightforwardly. I'm exhausted," he leaned deeply against his seat.

"I bet all your stress would disappear once you know."

"Motherfucker. Just tell me what it is!"

"Calm down," I uncorked the bottle and poured some wine on our glasses.

"This is about Claire."

"What about her-"

Guessing from the sudden shift of his expression, I knew Zhio got my point.

"Tell me. Is she…" his voice trailed off.

"She's pregnant." I smiled.

"You're going to be a father soon so better prepare yourself for it."

I handed him his glass which he took without hesitation.

"But if that's the case…" he looked suddenly worried,

"Did the accident hurt her and the baby?"

"No." I raised my glass, "Let's just celebrate Zhio."

(ZHIO)

When I went back to the hospital room, Claire was vomiting again.

I now knew why.

She's pregnant.

She's gotten teary-eyed from throwing up. Her face was so pale and she was excessively sweating.

I stroked her back to ease her pain.

"Zhio…"

I hugged her tight.

"I can't breathe. You're smothering me."

"Claire, you don't know how happy I am today!"

"Are you happy that I'm like this?"

"Sort of," I smiled at her.

"Are you feeling okay now?"

She nodded but shut her eyes from, I guessed, another bout of pang. I gripped her shoulders and at the touch, she fell unconscious. I lifted her back to the bed and wiped her sweat away.

I felt greatly happy about Eriez news but seeing her like that made me worried.

I took my phone.

We have to go back to the mansion…

(CLAIRE)

Sunlight was peeking already through the curtains when I woke up. Just us I flipped my eyelids open, I instantly knew I was back at that room in the mansion.

I tried to stand but lost my balance at first try. I almost fell.

"That was close," it was Zhio.

He hid his phone in his pocket and approached me.

"Good morning Claire."

"Morning…"

He was about to hug me again so I sat before he could come closer.

"Does your head still ache?"
