Chapter 129 - Chapter 128

"I see…"

I took my phone and wondered for a moment if I should call her. I wanted to surprise that crazy woman. And I'm curious with whatever she's busied herself with for the past night.

We've arrived at the airport late in the night. Throughout the flight I was able to sleep but my exhaustion hasn't been relieved.

"The chopper's ready to take you to the mansion," my valet approached as I descended the steps off the plane.

In just a few minutes, it landed at the mansion's rooftop. Half of the household were lined on the corner to welcome my arrival.

"How's her entire day?" I asked as I passed by the maids.

"Busy with rearranging your room sir."

"Did she eat well?"

My pace was fast as I walked to my room.

"Yes. Headmistress Sya dined with her."

"…did she try to escape?"

I've been aching to ask that question as my room door came into view.

The maid gave me the key.

I turned on the lights upon entering.

F U C K.

It did surprise me as I went inside…

Everything was colored an ugly cheese yellow.

Spong*bob themed.

"Miss Claire did…" one of the maids said anxiously.

"I know. You could all leave us alone."

The bed was empty and she's nowhere in plain sight.

Was she playing hide and seek this late at night?

I turned on all the lights. And there she was, sitting by the terrace.

"Claire…"

Asleep.

I sighed heavily as I looked at her calm face. The puffiness of her eyes had subsided.

"You'd catch a fever with that drama of yours,"

I whispered in the air and lifted her up. Her small body was light as a feather.

I laid her gently on the yellow-colored bed.

Even that.

I just ignored her bad taste in color and kissed her on the forehead.

"I'll take my revenge for this craziness of yours…"

I pulled the blanket up to her shoulders.

I never knew this time would even come…That I'd worry for a woman.

Half glad, half afraid.

I took a hot shower and when I attempted to dress up, my bedclothes were…

Am I a kid to wear something like that?

What's wrong with her?

And there was a sticky note attached to it: Wear this, I'd surely wake up with a smile.

She's gone mad.

I shook my head as I unwillingly put on that hilarious clothing.

I want to see that smile.

I too laid down in a position facing her.

I stared some more at the face I missed and listened to her soft breathing.

Until slowly, I drifted to sleep.
