Claire…

She's the same Claire that Zhio took to that hotel. And also Derick's soon to be bride.

Wenziel crossed his arms tightly as Derick announced his wedding. It has been just a few days since we planned on setting up Claire with Zhio but that idea has instantly dissipated after this bad news.

I suddenly doesn't know what to do.

Zhio had been quiet throughout the event and I noticed how sharply he looked at Derick. His unspoken envy showed and that was how I proved he really have feelings for her.

But I was curious...

There was one thing I didn't understand. I thought they were friends but neither of them had even said hello when they saw each other. Claire had not dared to look at him and been ignoring him since he came.

What could possibly happened?

"So when is the marriage?"

I couldn't hold myself back from asking the most important question I have.

"We don't have an exact date yet but it would certainly be next month," Derick answered with a big smile. Claire looked happy about it too.

Next month?

Does Zhio really have no chance with her?

I sighed at the urgency of our situation. Wenziel and I must do something about it.

At the distance, Zhio reddened in anger. I could feel how jealous he was. He went back outside with Deo and left without notice.

"Did Zhio leave already?"

Derick turned his head around when they returned to our table.

"I guess so," Mrs. Brundon smiled at me, "But we're glad he came here."

"You know he's impatient with gatherings. He rarely accepts invitations like this," I remarked.

"So there must be something really special about this day."

"He's just curious to know who I'll be marrying," Derick joked, "He must've had not expected I'd be wedding sooner than he is."

"That boy is known for hating women," Gov. Brundon nodded and looked at me.

"I heard he doesn't have any plans to marry."

A little silence.

"He does," Wenziel leaned back and stole a quick look at Claire.

"In fact, he's head over heels in love with that woman."

"Lucky lady," Derick commented.

Claire nodded but casted her gaze away.

Derick pulled her seat closer to him.

"But I'm luckier."

"You are." I agreed but with a bitter undertone.

"She's a sweet simple lady any gentleman would want. But I'm curious to know why she's chosen you."
