Chapter 48 - Chapter 47

CHAPTER 47 ALL OF THIS UNNECESSARY THINGS

@International_Pen

((( CLAIRE )))

"Because this is a special day just for us."

Dang! I knew it will lead to this!

My heart was pounding fast for what will happen next. For all that he's done for me so far, he'd be expecting an answer now.

"Are you really serious about me?"

I sounded like a broken tape.

"Yes," he raised a brow,

"Why? Do you think I'm not?"

Flower petals were littered on the carpeted floor we're walking through. At the end of it was a huge swimming pool that was temporarily covered in thick transparent glass. Its center held the table and two chairs that faced each other.

The pool's celadon waters was still visibly glittering in the afternoon sky and the dining setup on top of it looked as if it was magically floating.

It's beautiful!

"I'm giving you time to think about it," he furrowed his hair handsomely.

"I..ca..ah," I slurred ,like a toddler who doesn't know how to speak well yet, when his grip tightened on mine.

"Do you have doubts about me?" he asked.

"Do you think I'll just hurt your feelings?"

I shook my head, no.

"Are you afraid?"

"Maybe," I admitted.

"Trust me, Claire. Everything will be fine."

I trembled as I walked on the glass floor that looked realistically non-existent. I'm not used to walking on something like that so I feared anytime I'd fall on the water. Derick grinned coolly when he noticed.

"Relax."

He offered me my seat first. Waiters went into view and placed elegant foods on our table. Just for the two of us to eat, something so lavishly abundant has been prepared.

"I don't think we could eat all of this," I remarked in amazement.

"Because I noticed my princess has grown thinner."

I almost choked at how he called me.

"Princess?"

"You."

I grinned awkwardly.

"That's not my name."

"Get used to me calling you like that," he nodded a little, "Anyway, let's eat."

"Okay. Prince!" I teased back.

"That's not my name," he imitated my words.

"I know. Prince Derick."

He didn't agree.

"Just Prince, alright."

I'm starving already so I shamelessly placed a generous amount of food on my plate.

"Take it easy, Princess. We wouldn't run out of food."

I felt my face heat up but nodded still,

"Yes, Prince."

We both laughed. Derick could also be an idiot sometimes. Idiotic enough to court somebody like me.

"We sound stupid you know," I pointed out.

"Only my princess."

I mentally rolled my eyes. He didn't even ride along my silly joke. I should just tell him straightforwardly what I wanted to say.

For the last time I repeated the question I've been asking him many times now,

"Are you really sure about your feelings for me?"

His smile disappeared but resurfaced once more as he answered, "

Of course, a hundred percent sure that my heart only belongs to you."

I want to vomit the food I had just eaten.
