296 Never Loved Before

Tao Xin had nothing to hide now. She glared at Chen Zhao, her eyes full of disgust. “Since you heard it, I won’t lie to you. I never liked you. I only got close to you for President Jing.”

“Tao Xin!” Chen Zhao could not take it anymore and roared in a low voice, as if he wanted to use this to make her shut up. However, only he knew that he could not listen to such words anymore.

Every word she said was like a knife that pierced deeply into his heart, making him feel so much pain that he wished he was dead.

However, Tao Xin found pleasure in his pained expression. She sneered evilly and said, “Chen Zhao, do you really think I’ll like you? Are you worthy? Other than being with President Jing earlier than me and knowing him earlier than I did, what else can you do better than me? I should be the one standing beside President Jing. I want him to only have me in his heart forever!”

“You’re crazy.” Xu Ling rolled her eyes. “Tao Xin, do you really think that just because we all call you Sister Tao, it’s enough to show how excellent your work ability and personal ability are? Don’t forget, if it wasn’t because you’ve hooked up with Brother Chen, who would have the time to play nice with you?”

“Xu Ling! You b*tch! It’s all because of you that I’m in this state!” Tao Xin struggled on the ground, wishing she could rush up and bite her neck off.

Xu Ling looked at her with disdain and said, “Thanks to me? Please be clear, the renovation funds were all in your hands, what does it have to do with me? You’re still randomly biting people who don’t have anything to do with you at this time. I think you’re really a mad dog, biting everyone you see. You’re really hopeless.”

“You!”

“Enough!” Before Tao Xin could say anything else, Chen Zhao suddenly interrupted her madness. He looked at President Jing with a serious face, asking for his opinion, “President, can you let the police take her away now? There’s still a meeting to prepare for next, and we don’t have time to waste on insignificant people.”

Tao Xin stared at Chen Zhao in disbelief, then turned to Jing Yan with a pitiful look and begged with all her might, “No, I don’t want to go to jail! President Jing, please save me. I’ll do anything you want me to! Please don’t let me go to jail!”

Jing Yan did not even bother to spare her a glance. He put his arm around He Miao’s shoulder and smiled at her to comfort her. Then he turned to the police. “Take her away. I’m busy, so I won’t see you out.”

“Alright.” The leading police officer quickly gestured to the people behind him.

They lifted Tao Xin up from the ground until the elevator door was completely closed. The annoying crying on the top floor stopped abruptly.

He Miao’s heart still ached for the wound on Jing Yan’s face, but she knew that Chen Zhao was the one who had been hurt the most in this farce.

Even though He Miao did not know him very well, she still could not bear to see him hurt because he took care of Onion for her for so long. He Miao walked up to him and comforted him softly, “Brother Chen, don’t be sad. There will be better girls in the future that are worthy of your love.”

Chen Zhao laughed bitterly. He held back the tears in his eyes and shook his head. “I just want to work hard with President Jing. Miss He, you don’t have to worry about me. I’m a man. This pain is nothing to me.”

His heart was already full of holes, but in order to regain his last bit of dignity, he still took his pride and swallowed it down. He tried his best to maintain his calm appearance, but perhaps only he knew how much he loved Tao Xin in the past, but his heart was in pain now.

He Miao could not say anything more. She turned to Jing Yan, hoping that his superior would say something to comfort Chen Zhao.

To her surprise, Jing Yan just held her hand and walked into the office without looking back. He ordered the man behind him, who was in a daze, “Bring in the lunch you’ve prepared and heat up two glasses of milk.”

“Yes.” Chen Zhao heard his boss’s order and turned around to do what he was supposed to do.

In the office, He Miao glared at Jing Yan disapprovingly. “Brother Chen must be very sad right now. Why are you still making him do these trivial things? We should let him have a good rest.”

Jing Yan pinched her little nose helplessly and explained to her softly, “For Chen Zhao, only being busy can make him forget his heartache for a while. The more you let him rest, the more he won’t be able to get over it. Believe me, this is the best way to heal him.”

He Miao stared at him suspiciously and took a tissue from the table to wipe the blood off his face. “Nonsense. Does your face hurt? Why don’t I buy some alcohol to disinfect your wound?”

“No need to go through so much trouble. It’s just a small injury. I’ll be fine in two days.” Jing Yan did not take it seriously at all. He thought of something else, so he took the opportunity to suggest, “I see that you have a good impression of Xu Ling. Why don’t you let her join you?”
