Chapter 24 – Star Potential

“That’s right, Xiao Jiang. Brother Liu has made a lot of artists shoot to fame. That xiao xian rou1 [javascript:void(0)]Xiao xian rou is a colloquial term for a male teen idol, literally means little fresh meat. Shi Chuan went viral last year precisely because of Brother Liu.” The musician was drunk. He actually liked Jiang Sihan’s music, so he gladly gave Jiang Sihan a few words of advice. “Listen to me, go with Brother Liu. That way, you can at least debut and be seen by the public. Under his image marketing, there’s no way you won’t become famous with your appearance and temperament.”

Brother Liu had keen eyes. He could see that Jiang Sihan had star potential. Coincidentally, he didn’t have any rookies under him recently. Shi Chuan had exploded in popularity, it was obvious he wanted to terminate his contract and move to a new company. The new company was rich and imposing, there was no way Brother Liu was willing to go up against industry giants. As a result, his mood was in the dumps these past few days, until he saw Jiang Sihan…

There was no shortage of handsome guys and beautiful girls, Brother Liu wasn’t lacking resources in that department. There were plenty of rookies wanting to join his company, but he was looking for newcomers with potential. Those were hard to come by.

Jiang Sihan obviously had no intentions of becoming an actor, he had his ambitions elsewhere. But after enduring in this city for so long and getting a taste of the fickleness of human relationships, he unwittingly became more tactful. He immediately got up to give a toast to Brother Liu, “Thank you, Brother Liu, for your recognition.”

Brother Liu knew Jiang Sihan wasn’t interested. That was exactly the reason why he was so interested in Jiang Sihan.

Those people who were impatient and rushed forward when they heard they had a chance in the industry, although ambitious, were also unstable and easily tempted. One example would be Shi Chuan.

After leaving his contact number with Jiang Sihan, Brother Liu stopped talking to him. There were many people attending the banquet. Jiang Sihan was just a newcomer with no reputation and background. It wouldn’t be good for him to stick out like a sore thumb.

That was it. Other than that small interaction, Jiang Sihan kept quiet and only ate the entire time.

There weren’t many people in this banquet focused on eating. Even if Jiang Sihan had eaten a lot, when the event finally ended, there were still a lot of dishes that remained untouched.

Jiang Sihan had been sitting in the same position. These people with reputation and influence had companions and none of them noticed his existence in the corner.

Close to twenty minutes later, almost everyone had left the room. A waiter came in to tidy up.

The waiter thought Jiang Sihan was drunk so he nudged him, “Sir, is there something wrong?”

Jiang Sihan shook his head. After a few moments of silent, he said, “Please give me some doggy bags.”

The waiter froze in confusion. After all, there were few people who would take the leftovers after eating in this restaurant. But she didn’t say anything. After a while, she brought over a few doggy bags.

Jiang Sihan packed the lobster and seafood that no one had touched, and packed the dishes others had touched but remained aplenty into a separate container. Finally, he asked the waiter to give him one more small container to pack the bird’s nest soup.

When he returned to the neighborhood, it was around ten o’clock in the evening. After hesitating, he went up to the third floor and rang the doorbell.

The door opened some time after. Luo Bei had just taken a shower and her hair was still wet. She was surprised to see Jiang Sihan.

It was so late, was there anything important?

Before Luo Bei could open her mouth, Jiang Sihan handed her the bag of food and muttered, “I went to a dinner party today. It was at the best, most upscale seafood restaurant in the city. I packed some of the seafood that was left over, but don’t worry, they were untouched. Oh, right, there’s also a bowl of bird’s nest soup. The waiter said it’s best to finish it by today.”

After saying this, he didn’t care to stay for Luo Bei’s reaction and went downstairs. He also carried a bag of food in his hand. The container was filled with food that had been touched by others. It was his food for tomorrow.
