Ash was unsettled by the events. For the past few weeks, he could not get any intel on the President and it was starting to worry him. The man was planning something at the party and he must find out what it was.

"Is he planning to attack KJ and Mirae there?" he wondered out loud, leaning back against the chair he was sitting on. All the clues seemed to point that way. But how was he going to achieve this? Was he seriously attempting to kidnap one half of the Nation's Couple from under the noses of so many people? Abyss and KJ's men were protecting the venue so it seemed like an impossible task. Killing any one of them would be easier than a full on kidnapping attempt.

"Something is not right," he said, fidgeting his fingers. "What is the old man planning?"

He knew better than to trust Junhyung. The latter was going to betray him any time and it seemed like he had already sided with the President after his affair with Nida was busted. 

"I have to go to the mansion," he decided. "It's the only way I would know."

He got off his chair and picked up his jacket. It was time to find out what the President was truly planning.

A long limo stopped in front of the large gate. The reporters clicked away, flashes from their cameras shining brighter than the stars. The celebrities in attendance also turned their head to see the honorary guests of the evening emerging from the car.

Somi stepped out of the limo, wearing a soft mauve gown. It was sleeveless and perfectly hugged her slender figure while her natural style makeup highlighted her high cheekbones and bright skin. She smiled at the cameras, which made her look like a literal fairy on earth as the reporters were charmed by her beauty. But all attention was also being captured by the man next to her.

The tall, well built man in a dark blue suit was the real star of the evening. The whole world was curious about the man whom Somi had chosen and they were marveling at him. He was not conventionally handsome but his rugged look made him very alluring. His olive skin was well refined and the dark eyes were very dreamy. He was much taller than Somi and when he stooped down to whisper something in his ears, she let out a genuine laugh. The couple looked very much in love and everyone could not help but muse at their easy charm.

"It's so weird getting all this attention," Hyun Jung sighed.

"They're all curious about you," Somi snickered. "After all, you are the fiance of the Nation's True Love!"

"I don't mind that label," Hyun Jung smiled. "It has a certain charm to it."

"Yes, I see the female celebrities are eyeing you with interest," Somi scowled as some of her fellow co-stars were throwing flirty glances at Hyun Jung. She put her arms around his, possessively clinging onto him. Hyun Jung laughed at her petty jealousy and clasped her palm to tell her that he belongs to her and her only. Together, they walked towards the mansion which was lively with celebrations.

"When are KJ and Mirae going to arrive?" Somi wondered aloud. "Dasom and Eli are already on their way."

"I think Eli texted that they're almost here," Hyun Jung said, checking his phone. As soon as he said it, there were a series of deafening cheers from the crowd outside. Dasom had just entered the mansion with Eli by his side. He wore a navy blue suit while Eli was wearing a short black dress with full sleeves. They glanced at Somi and Hyun Jung and waved.

"Hyun!" Dasom exclaimed, hugging him. "Congratulations once again on your engagement!"

"Thanks!" Hyun Jung said gratefully while Eli hugged Somi. 

"When are you two planning to get married?" Eli asked. 

"This fall," Somi giggled. "Hyun Jung's mom will be able to close the store then and fly down to help with the preparations. We're planning to keep it low key with just our loved ones in attendance."

"Have you chosen a spot yet?" Dasom asked.

"The place where we met for the first time," Somi smiled. "It's a little far from the city but it's perfect! The land owner was so nice. She let us rent the land for the day and even offered to take care of the decorations for us. She was thrilled when we asked, claiming she's a huge fan!"

Hyun Jung simply smiled. "I should go and check on the security preparations," he said in a low tone. "We've got information that the Cartel's men would enter the venue in a few hours and we'll have to find them."

"Is Sunye here?" Eli asked.

"She's with the security team," Somi replied. "I received her text. Her acquaintance, SD, has also infiltrated the premises and our plan is in motion. All we're waiting for is the Nation's Couple. Where are they?"

"They'll be here," Dasom stated. "They're being escorted by Riggs and the Abyss' security team. Once they arrive, we'll be able to handle everything from then on…"

All of them were extremely nervous about the plan. There was no doubt that the Cartel was going to attempt something big there and possibly kidnap Mirae or KJ. Everything was planned to the finest detail but there was an air of uncertainty. So far, their plans had worked on pure luck but how long would luck be on their side?

"Everything will be alright," Eli assured them. "We're more prepared now than ever. The Cartel's leaders are dead and Ash Park is essentially in hiding. The President has been lured out of his cave and we know his weak link is Junhyung. We'll get him this time."

"I hope so," Hyun Jung muttered. "If we fail to protect KJ and Mirae today, then the Cartel is going to win. And we can't let that happen."

The four of them were determined yet unsettled by the nagging question in everyone's mind. Will everything go smoothly according to their plans or will they end up failing their friends? 

The next few hours would decide everyone's fate.
