"Am I too late?"

KJ and Mirae turned around to find Sunye standing there, holding a small flower bouquet.

"Sis!" KJ exclaimed, giving her a hug. "I thought you had to go out of town for a case?"

"I was done early so I came back," she shrugged. "Besides, I can't miss the wedding of my only brother!"

She turned to hug Mirae and added, "You look beautiful."

"Thank you, unnie," Mirae replied. "I'm glad you made it."

"These are for you," Sunye said. "It's for the flower throwing ritual."

She handed Mirae the small bouquet. It consisted of pink lilies which were freshly picked. Mirae sniffed it and was enticed by its lovely scent.

"These are gorgeous!" she exclaimed, giving Sunye another hug. "Thank you unnie!"

Just then Somi interfered. "Can I borrow the bride for a minute?" she requested. "The Maid of Honor needs more pictures with her beautiful friend."

Without waiting for a reply, Somi dragged Mirae with her, leaving KJ alone with his sister.

"I'm glad you made it sis," KJ said again. "I really appreciate it."

"It was nothing," Sunye assured him. She glanced at Mirae who was posing for the cameras. "You guys are lucky to have each other."

"How was your case?" KJ asked. "I hope you found what you were looking for."

"I...I didn't go on a case," Sunye confessed. She lowered her voice before adding, "I went to our old house where our parents lived before they were killed."

KJ raised an eyebrow. "I wanted to find some clue," Sunye went on. "In case if I remembered anything from that night. But when I reached there, the house was already demolished. There was nothing left. No belongings, no old furniture. Nothing."

"I also went to the local police station in case they had the case files," she stated. "But they did not even file a complaint! There was no CCTV during that time either so I found zero clues."

She was frustrated by the lack of evidence. For years, she was digging into her past and yet there were no leads. Her memories were the only lead but no matter how much she tried, she could not resurface them.

"Don't be hard on yourself," KJ said sharply. "We already know that it was the President who did it."

"Yes, but I'm the only one who saw him," Sunye countered. "I can recognize him if I could only remember."

She was trying her best to remember everything but there was a block in her head which was not lifting. KJ could feel her helplessness. He put an arm around her shoulder, consoling her.

"We'll find him," he assured her. "But for now, let's forget about all the dangers and enjoy ourselves. Who knows when these happy moments will come next?"

Sunye nodded. Mirae, who was still taking pictures, called out, "Unnie! Join us for a picture!"

"Coming!" Sunye answered back. "Let's go," she said to KJ.

Together, they walked towards the others to pose for more pictures. Mirae pulled Sunye to stand beside her and KJ while Psycho urged them to smile. For a few moments, the thoughts about the dangers which were waiting for them in the future. Everything was uncertain but everyone was determined to not let their happiness be diminished.

As they posed for one last photo, they were not thinking of the calamity which was about to strike. Their smiles were captured in that frame, happy and uncaring about everything else.

….

"KJ, you guys are gonna be late for your trip!" Hyun Jung reminded him. They had already finished dinner and cut the cake, which everyone enjoyed very thoroughly. It was past midnight and everyone was starting to get tired.

"Trip?" Mirae queried. "Where?"

"It's another surprise!" KJ winked. "Only I know where we're going."

Mirae pouted. He was being too secretive!

"Okay then!" Somi stood up, clapping her hands together. "It's the flower throwing ceremony! Mirae turn towards the door and the bridesmaids will gather behind you. On my cue, throw the bouquet backwards at us."

Mirae nodded and took her position while Somi and Eli stood a few meters behind her.

"Ready?" Mirae asked.

"Wait!" Somi suddenly said. She strode up to Sunye and pulled her to stand with them.

"Huh? Me?" Sunye asked in confusion.

"You have to participate too," Somi ordered. "No but's!"

Her tone was so authoritative that even Sunye could not argue back. "Ready girls?" Somi challenged.

"Yes!" Eli replied enthusiastically.

"Which one of our girls will catch it?" Dasom muttered to Hyun Jung.

"Somi," he said in an instant. "She's very good at catching stuff."

"Nah, it'll be my gal," Dasom smirked. "She's a cop after all! If she can catch criminals then this is nothing."

"Wanna bet?"

"What'll you bet on?

"Hundred bucks?"

"Deal," Dasom agreed. KJ snickered at their conversation before turning his attention back to the women. Somi began to count.

"1...2...3...Throw!"

Mirae threw the bouquet backwards as hard as she could. The men held their breaths as the girls sprinted ahead towards the bouquet. Eli and Somi leapt forward, both of their hands reaching out...their fingers only inches away…

"Yes!" Sunye cried in happiness as the bouquet fell into her hands while Eli and Somi fumbled in disappointment.

"Damn!" Dasom and Hyun Jung cursed out loud while KJ erupted into laughter at their expressions.

"I think it's time for us to leave," he reminded his friends.

"I'll go and change," Mirae said. "I don't want the gown to get wrinkled during the long trip!"

With that, she darted back into the changing room while KJ also opted to change into something more comfortable. They were about to go on a long journey and it was best to wear lighter clothes.

An hour later, they emerged from the changing rooms, while the others cleaned up the church.

"Your car is outside," Hyun Jung said. "And don't worry about Jade. He'll stay with us for a while."

Somi was cuddling Jade on her lap, who seemed very happy to be receiving attention from the Nation's True Love.

"We'll drop Sunye sis off," Dasom offered to which Eli nodded. "Her place isn't too far from mine."

KJ pulled Hyun Jung and Dasom into wide hugs while Mirae was patting a crying Somi. The latter was very happy that the ceremony went smoothly. Sunye also bid farewell to her brother and sister-in-law as they got into the car.

"Call me when you get there," she told him.

"I will," he promised, revving up the engine. He turned to Mirae who was seated next to him. "Ready wifey?"

"Where are we going?" She asked again. "Come on just one hint?"

"You'll see," he teased as they drove off into the darkness.
