Chapter 250 - Comeback (10): Possessive---->UPDATED

Name:The Idol's Wife Author:Tea_Tae
"So...where are we going?" Mirae inquired. KJ had snuck her out of the office and they took her car. He even dodged their guards. For some reason, he was being highly secretive.

"Not far," he said.

"You said that half an hour ago!"

But Mirae was excited. It was officially their first date despite being unplanned. She wanted to see this place he was taking her. They were on the highway, a little farther than the main city.

KJ glanced at his wife. He could tell that she was greatly anticipating to see where they were going. In the original timeline, he was hesitant to open up to her. His secrets forged a wall between them which made him neglect her and they never even got the chance to go on a date. But now, he was determined to reach out to her. He wanted her to be in his life. It was time for him to rectify his mistakes and truly give her what she deserved.

He pulled up in front of a garden gate. Mirae tried to peer through the gates but KJ blocked her view. "Keep your eyes closed," he ordered.

"But I want to see!" she insisted.

"Close them."

Mirae pouted and closed her eyes. But KJ shut her eyes with his hands as extra precaution. He did not want her to steal a peek.

"Be patient," he snickered.

"Fine," Mirae conceded. He was gently leading her inside. She was blindly walking with him as he turned her a corner. After walking for ten minutes, he finally stopped. He removed his hands from her eyelids.

"Open your eyes," he said. As she fluttered her eyelids the scenery came into view. They were standing under a lone bonsai tree in the middle of a vast meadow.

The rays of the sun played its magic as the whole meadow sparkled with life. Colorful flowers danced in the slight breeze and there was a sound of running water; there was a stream nearby. The grass was deep green, adding an extra aesthetic to the picturesque place. The trees bordered the meadow, standing tall and majestically above them. Only the single bonsai tree was planted in the middle, towering over the couple. There was a tranquility there, a sense of calmness which was strange yet peaceful.

"It's…" Mirae struggled to find the right words but failed. For some reason, it felt like the whole world had gone still and it was just the two of them left on earth. But KJ stood there, with a smile. He had a pebble in his hand.

"Want to witness my magic, wifey?" he smirked.

"Magic?" she asked, confused. He did not reply but threw the pebble on a heap of grass a few meters away from them.

Instantly, flocks of butterflies rose from the whole meadow, all of vivid colors strikingly bright against the blue sky. They were of all sorts of colors; red, blue, pink, green. Mirae watched in wonder as thousands of butterflies danced in the air like little nymphets. Some fluttered around her.

In a daze, she reached out her hand, letting them rest on her palm. KJ gently blew on her palm, causing them to fly away once more, twirling around merrily.

KJ embraced her from the back and kissed her cheek while Mirae settled into his arms, watching the butterfly heaven in awe.

"It's so beautiful," she whispered. Her eyes were a little moist. She had never seen a place so beautiful. It was a once in a lifetime moment and even if they return there again, the magic would not be the same. For some reason, she was absorbed into that single moment, as if she was living her entire lifetime in it.

"Wifey, you're crying," KJ whispered into her ears teasingly.

Mirae did not realize when the tears started to flow from her eyes. She quickly wiped them away while KJ chuckled. Her eyes looked at him with an innocent sparkle. She could not put into words how much the moment meant to her.

KJ leaned over and put a chaste kiss on her nose. "Happy first date, wifey," he said with a wide smile.

"Happy first date, hubby," she replied, returning his smile. She held his hand and they kept on looking out at the field, enjoying their moment in peace.

….

"I know why you were really upset," KJ said after a while. Mirae was sitting on his lap, cuddling against his chest. She had missed his warmth and was lazily leaning her back against him as they enjoyed the view from underneath the bonsai tree.

"I've worried you a lot," he said sadly. "I'm sorry."

Mirae turned around to face him. "I…lost it that day too," she admitted. "I just want you to think a little more about yourself. Not that there's anything wrong to save someone! I just want you to be more cautious. That's all."

"And I'm sorry if I had overreacted," she added in a small tone.

"You didn't," he reassured her. "I needed the reality check. The past few weeks had been rough without you."

"I missed you too," she blurted out before she could stop herself. Upon hearing them, KJ looked at her in surprise while Mirae turned into a deep shade of scarlet.

"Careful now wifey," KJ teased. "You may actually fall in love with me if you keep missing me like that!"

Mirae looked at him. Her dopey green eyes were gazing at him lovingly. She had not realized it before but after staying apart from him for weeks, she learnt that he meant a lot more to her than she had initially thought. Her heart was pounding loudly against her chest as KJ waited for her next words.

"Maybe I am," she confessed. And she meant it.

Even though their marriage started as an agreement, she could not help but see the genuine feelings he had for her. All her initial misconceptions about him melted away when he let her into his world. He was so much more than what he showed to the world. The Nation's Idol KJ was still Jiwon at heart. This man would do anything for a loved one albeit from the shadows. She had never imagined that after that immense betrayal from Ash, she would find someone to love again.

But she did. Jiwon's honest feelings moved her heart and she could not help but return those feelings too.

KJ stared at her in astonishment, too shocked to talk. His mind went blank at her confession and did not know how to react. Mirae waited for him to talk. Instead, he grabbed her and shifted her around entirely, both of them facing each other eye to eye.

"You can't back away from your word," he finally said.

"I wont, Jiwon," she stated.

The breeze flew by, gently brushing against their skins. A lock of Mirae's hair swayed wildly with the wind. KJ caught it, not letting his gaze waver from hers, and tucked it behind her ear.

"Good," he said. "Because I have no intention of letting you go nor am I going to let anyone else tear us apart. Not this time."

Before Mirae could ask what he meant by the next part, she found her lips being pressed against his as he possessively claimed her. His tongue smacked against hers, while his hands untied her ponytail. She felt him running his hands through her silky hair and pulled her closer, as if he would never let her go. She leaned in more, their lips still locked in a passionate fervour.

Amidst the heavenly meadow, the couple were lost into each other, oblivious to the rest of the world.
