Chapter 218 - About Last Night

Name:The Idol's Wife Author:Tea_Tae
Hyun Jung was at the hospital all night. Goo Soo Bin was kept under the strictest security and it was impossible for anyone to go near him. Hyun Jung was personally overseeing the security details, choosing the men himself. Riggs was busy transferring Ziko to one of Abyss' prisons and will join them after completing the task.

His phone rang up. It was Somi.

"Hyun!" she said at once. "How are things there?"

"I'm fine," he replied. "We did it, Somi. We caught Ziko and saved Goo Soo Bin. He's in the ICU now."

She let out a sigh of relief from the other end. Even though she wanted to help, Mirae advised her against it because Somi had therapy sessions. She was doing much better than before and her seizures were less frequent.

"Can I come over?" she requested. "I want to be there when he wakes up."

Hyun Jung wanted to say no but she sounded tense. They hardly got to see each other for the past few days and Somi was worried for them.

"I'll be in a disguise!" she pleaded. "Please Hyun. Let me come over!"

"Fine," he conceded. "But only for a while. KJ and Mirar will arrive soon as well."

"Alright," she said and hung up. Hyun Jung glanced at the ICU. Detective Goo will be transferred to a cabin soon. Hopefully, he will be well enough to talk.

….

Junhyung was let in through the electric gate after a thorough search. The camera above the gate scanned his face properly before allowing him to enter the mansion.

He headed straight for the second floor, where Ash was sitting in a bathrobe, lazily sipping wine. Junhyung placed a file in front of him.

"What's this?" Ash asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Good news," Junhyung smirked.

Ash picked up the file and skimmed through it. He put it back, quietly thinking about the file's contents.

"Are you sure about this?" he asked quietly.

"Absolutely," Junhyung confirmed. "It came from our informant."

Ash was quietly contemplating the next move. "Tonight," he finally said. "I'll go myself."

"But it's too dangerous," Junhyung pointed out. "Shouldn't it be me or Nida?"

"No."

There was a dark gleam in Ash's eyes. They were devoid of any emotions or humanity. There was only one thing in his mind.

"It has to be me," he stated quietly. Junhyung did not question him further. He simply bowed and exited the room, leaving Ash to his thoughts.

Once outside, Junhyung thought back to their last conversation. It was impossible to know what was going on in Ash's mind. No one knew what he wanted or what his goal was.

"You're one strange man, Ash Park," he commented. With that, he walked out of the gate.

Ash was in deep thought. The moment he had been waiting for years had finally arrived. He downed his entire drink in one go and threw the glass away.

"Only I will win this game," he vowed.

….

"AAHHH!" Dasom screamed as Eli kicked him awake. "What's the big idea?"

"Why are you still here?" she demanded. She was covering herself with the blanket, giving him a furious look. Her whole body was marked with hickeys. The guy bit her everywhere and she will have to wear full length turtlenecks for weeks to cover them!

"What do you mean by why am I still here?" he asked groggily. "We hooked up last ni-"

Eli pounced on him to shut his mouth. "Don't!" she threatened. "Don't even dare!"

Just remembering the events of last night was making her skin crawl. She was emotionally wrecked and vulnerable which led her to…

"UGH!" she screamed. Just thinking about it made her feel like digging a grave and crawling into it. She picked up a pillow and began to beat him with it.

"Hey!" Dasom protested as she attacked him. "Why am I the bad guy here?"

"You. Should. Have. Stopped. Me."

She followed each word with a hit. Dasom managed to grab her hands and pinned her down. Eli was struggling under him.

"Stop!" he yelled at her. She stopped moving but glared at him like an angry kitty. Despite her anger, Dasom had to admit, she looked cute.

"What happened last night was not an accident," he said. "Both of us wanted it. And by judging your m.o.a.ns, you thoroughly enjoyed it."

Eli turned a bright shade of red. "H-How dare you?" she screeched. "I-I-I…"

But no matter how much she wanted to deny it as a mistake, she could not. Instead, she masked her pleasure with annoyance.

"Never again!" she declared, pushing him off her. "Now get out!"

Dasom bit back a snicker. If he laughed at her angry expressions, it may be the last thing he ever did.

"We have to go to the hospital though," he pointed out. "Let's go together."

"As if!" she scoffed. "Get out!"

Dasom was barely in his trousers when Eli pushed him out of her apartment and shut the door.

"At least give me my shoes!" he slammed on her door. She briefly opened it and threw the shoes out.

This is embarrassing, he thought as he hid his face and somehow made his way to his car. If a paparazzi clicked him at that time, they would have a field day.

Eli was embarrassed and furious at herself.

"Stupid Eli!" she cursed herself. "How the hell did you end up sleeping with him?"

She let out a frustrated sigh as she ran a hand through her hair. As a detective, she never had flings nor one night stands. Her job kept her too busy from having any serious relationsh.i.p.s. The last thing she wanted was to have a tryst with a famous idol who was younger than her!

It was true that she was emotionally overwhelmed last night, but she was the one who made the first move! Just thinking about it made her embarrassed.

"Forget about it," she told herself, slapping her cheeks. "It was a mistake. A one night stand. That's it. Just avoid the guy from now on. Pretend it never happened."

That should do, she thought. Right?
