Chapter 94 - Mirae's Feelings

Name:The Idol's Wife Author:Tea_Tae
Jade scratched at KJ's hands but to no avail. The guy put his hand over the cat's eyes, keeping them tightly shut.

"Hey!" Jade protested. "What were you guys doing? What happened? Why was Mirae making those noises?"

He tried to get KJ's hand off his eyes but the latter was too strong.

"That's private!" KJ scolded him. "You can't see that."

"But I wanna know what happened!" Jade insisted.

"We played tag and she got hurt!" KJ said sarcastically.

"Oh so that's what happened," Jade said naively. "But why did you cover my eyes?"

KJ rolled his eyes. The cat really had no boundaries.

"We were married, Jade." KJ explained. "What do married people do at night?"

It took a while for Jade to realize what he was saying. "Oh," he simply said. "This is awkward. Let me know when it's safe to watch."

KJ shook his head as he saw his younger counterpart stirring in his sleep.

Dawn broke and bright sunshine peeked in through the window. Jiwon's sleep was broken by the light. Pulling the blanket over him, he realized he was naked. A soft hand was wrapped around him from behind and his back felt a little heavy.

He turned around to see a brunette girl, sleeping peacefully beside him. It took him a while to remember the details of last night.

Oh, he realized. I'm married now.

It was a strange sensation. He did not feel any different than he was single. The whole idea of marriage did not sink in yet. But, he did not hate the idea of waking up to the tiny, sleeping girl beside him.

She was hugging him in her sleep. Her leg was strewn across his waist while her arm encased his chest. She slightly stirred, which made Jiwon flush as he felt his member stiffen again. Shaking those thoughts from his mind, he gently shook her arm.

"Mirae," he called her. But the girl kept on sleeping, oblivious to the world around her.

"Mirae," he called her again, a little louder.

"Mmm?" she mumbled.

"You need to wake up," he told her. "We're moving to the new place today."

"Five more minutes," she yawned as she turned on her back. The blanket was barely covering her; her topless body was visible. Jiwon gulped at the sight before looking away in embarrassment. Last night, it was dark so he did not have a good look at her. But seeing her in the morning, made his manhood rise again.

Mirae fluttered her eyes open to find Jiwon lying beside her. One of her legs was entwined with his in an intimate way. The details of the night before rushed inside her head.

"Umm…" Jiwon stumbled to say something.

"Good morning," she yawned. "Did you sleep well?"

"Yeah…" Jiwon replied. "And you?"

"I did," she said with a smile. "When are we moving out?"

"After lunch," Jiwon replied. There was a hint of uneasiness in his tone. The Kwon Mansion had been his home for fifteen years. Even if he lived at the boarding school for many years, he still had a home to return to. But now that he was leaving this place, he could not help but feel a little empty inside.

"How did you feel?" he asked her, still looking away. "When you left your home?"

Mirae mulled over his question. "Numb," she finally answered. "It felt as if I was cutting off one of my limbs but felt nothing about it. But even if I had stayed back, it would not have been a home. My parents were not there for me. It was simply became an empty concrete building."

She looked at him. "How are you feeling?" she asked. "About leaving your home."

He turned towards her. "Numb," he replied. She had a gentle look in her eyes, which was mixed with a little sadness.

"You have beautiful eyes," he blurted out before he could stop himself. Widening her eyes in surprise, Mirae blinked.

"T-thank you," she said, her cheeks turning red. Suddenly, she was self conscious about being naked. Even though they did it last night, she could feel her body heating up again.

Jiwon felt her leg shifting a bit. His knee was now almost touching her private part. He gently nudged it with. Mirae bit her lower lip as Jiwon rubbed his knee against her clit.

"S-seems like we have some time," she said, trying to keep calm.

"We do," Jiwon agreed in a nonchalant tone. Mirae stared at him.

"I should go and call the movers to come early," he said feigning ignorance. He almost got up when Mirae grabbed his hand and pulled him on top of her.

"Later," she ordered, pulling him into a passionate kiss. Entangling their bodies into another fiery session, they continued their intense activity till almost noon time.

….

Mirae stepped out of the shower only to find the room empty. Jiwon had already freshened up and went downstairs for lunch. They would be moving out of the mansion later that day. Mirae took a deep breath as she stared at herself in the mirror.

It was a long road for her. While she was with her parents, her life was sheltered. She felt secured and happy with them. They were so strong and dependable. She always thought her parents would be by her side forever. But then reality hit. They were snatched away from her in a dreadful accident. An accident, Jiwon blamed himself for.

She thought about what he had said to her before they got married. He blamed himself for going to that party and the accident following it. She was not sure what should have been her reaction at that moment. Should she have been angry? Betrayed? Accusing?

It was hard to decide. What she did feel, however, was gratitude. In all these years, everyone around her were secretive. They did not explain why she was being hidden nor would they answer any of her questions regarding her parents' deaths.

But Jiwon did not beat around the bush. He decided to confess his role in their deaths. He was honest to her. Even though she had an inkling that he was probably hiding something, he was genuinely apologetic. There was no doubt, he was doing everything he can to keep Mirae happy. He took a leap of faith.

And so did she. They may have been strangers, but Mirae felt like she knew him for ages. Beneath his cold facade, was a young man who was scared of the world. But once he was determined, he would protect his loved ones with his life.

His honesty won her over. Even though she married him due to grandfather's last wish, she was given a choice. She could have backed out without any repercussions. But she chose him. Married him. Even gave up her virginity to him.

Was it love? She knew it was not it. She was attracted to him. This attraction will increase and she was sure of it. All she knew was this: she must protect this man. From himself.

….

After putting on some clothes and drying her hair, Mirae descended the stairs and made her way towards the dining room. Jiwon was already seated there, almost finishing his lunch.

"Butler Shin already had our things moved to the new apartment," he informed her as she sat down. "Since I won't be inheriting any money from my family, we will have to find jobs."

"Don't worry," she assured him. "I already work as a part time technician for a few restaurants. I have some income."

"Technician?" Jiwon frowned.

"Yes!" she said brightly. "I love machines and technology. I'm very good at building computer software and fixing them. So I provide IT support to some restaurants and they pay me well."

Jiwon's expression was impassive but inwardly he was impressed. Ms. Sohee used to complain about how her daughter was a dud in studying but it seems like Mirae had developed her skills in the right place.

"Then I'll have to look for part time work," he said out loud.

"What are you good at?" she asked curiously.

"Singing and composing," he replied.

"Try being a singer then," she suggested.

"Not possible," he said. "Agencies don't take married idols."

"Oh." Mirae's face fell slightly. Did she come in between his dreams?

Jiwon did not notice her discomfort. "The movers should be here by now," he said, checking his watch. "Finish your lunch."

With that, he picked up his empty plate and walked away. Mirae picked up her fork but was barely able to taste her food. She felt an ominous feeling rising within her.

What will happen to us? She wondered.
