The passenger car stops.

Kalin jumps out like she was tired of waiting for this, and the weight of her sword makes the whole car shake.

“Why are you jumping out first…”

It’s only natural to assume she’s their target. I can’t help but mumble in exasperation.

Ahri jumps out right after Kalin, and pulls out a territorial flag that was on the side of the passenger car.

Looking at it more closely, I see that the pole is actually her spear. So that’s where it was.

I leave the car too, while activating a scroll.

But then, it turns into Kalin’s show.

She happily swings around her new meteorite sword, and I hear a roar with each swing as it cuts through the air.

The targets of these swings are people wearing black clothes and black masks. I’m sure they’re assassins.

They try to position themselves behind Kalin with coordinated and smooth movements, but what’s waiting for them is Ahri’s spear. The spear with the flag still attached pierces the foot of an assassin trying to get behind Kalin.

Kalin peeks back and then charges towards the enemy, with Ahri covering her back.

Since Kalin doesn’t have to worry about being attacked from the back, she starts swinging her sword with a smile on her face, and the multiple assassins are overwhelmed in no time.

It seems she hit them with the flat part of the sword, and didn’t actually kill them.

It makes sense that Kalin and Ahri would completely crush normal humans. It’s easy enough for them that they have the luxury of making sure their enemies only fainted. Not that being hit by Kalin’s ridiculous strength isn’t enough to kill someone…

As I think about this, Kalin talks to the one assassin she purposefully left conscious, and points her meteorite sword at him.

I guess she’s asking who they are and why they’re doing this.

I get closer so I can hear what they’re saying, but that’s when I see Ahri’s expression change, before she takes off running.

“Rose!”

I yell, as Ahri pushes Kalin down and covers her.

Rose’s tentacles burst out of the 《Manifest》 scroll I activated earlier, to protect them.

The vines form a wall around them.

The assassin’s body starts swelling, and he explodes while scattering some sort of fluid.

“《Polish》”

The tornado from another active scroll blows away that fluid, but some drops still reach Rose’s vines.
