The couple was barbecuing.

When Ye Chen and Sun Yi arrived at their doorstep, they realized Uncle Wang and Aunt Zhang were busy.

Naturally, Aunt Zhang’s attention went straight to Ye Chen and the lady beside him.

When she saw Sun Yi, her jaw dropped. Never in a million years would she had guessed that she would see two goddess-like ladies in a day.

“You’re finally here, Chen. Oh no, why did you invite a big somebody over to our place? They’re probably used to eating in grand hotels, how could you bring them to a shabby place like this…” Aunt Zhang was still nervous and worried about the standard of their food. She was afraid that it was not up to their standards and might accidentally sour Ye Chen’s important meeting.

Ye Chen smiled, waved his hand and said, “It’s no problem. I didn’t invite him over just to discuss things with him. Aunt Zhang, don’t you think I’ve eaten enough times to know how good your food is? I guarantee it’ll make that guy drool!”

Aunt Zhang was flattered from the compliment. She twisted her shirt as she looked toward Sun Yi and asked, “Chen, is this your… Why does she look so familiar…”

Ye Chen was about to explain when Sun Yi walked toward Aunt Zhang and exclaimed, “Aunt Zhang, it really is you! Is Uncle Wang inside? You must’ve forgotten who I am. Five years ago, I was one of your frequent customers at your food stall…”

Aunt Zhang still could not recall who she was when she heard Sun Yi’s words. All she could do was smile and say, “I didn’t expect to see such a beautiful lady that was, in fact, one of my previous customers… Not to mention, I didn’t expect Chen and you to still be together after graduation. This is good…”

After Sun Yi was complimented about how sweet they were together, she ran into the kitchen to say hi to Uncle Wang.

Ye Chen did not want to explain further anyways so he walked toward the open private room door. When he looked in, he saw Shen Haihua and Shen Mengjia sitting inside while a man in a suit was sitting in the corner who was most probably the chauffeur.

When Shen Haihua saw Ye Chen emerging from the door, he was super excited!

It was because not only did he notice that his terminal illness was cured, all the small problems that plagued him were all gone!

Seeing Ye Chen for him was like seeing someone who had saved his life.

“Mr. Ye, you’re finally here! Please, let me toast three shots of liquor to thank you for saving my life!”

When Shen Haihua finished his sentence, he poured three shots of liquor and drank them one after another with eagerness and joy.

“Dad, don’t drink so much, you just recovered…” Shen Mengjia advised.

In fact, she was quite surprised because, since the time she was young, other people were the ones drinking to her dad. However, it was the opposite now with her dad already drinking three shots even before Ye Chen managed to sit down.

This meant the utmost respect toward Ye Chen.

Ye Chen did not think Shen Haihua would make such a gesture so he returned one toast to him as well.

Behind was Sun Yi carefully holding a plate of food as she walked inside. When she placed the food down on the table, she proceeded to sit on Ye Chen’s right-hand side.

Since she sat on that spot, it would seem that Ye Chen was surrounded by gorgeous ladies with Shen Mengjia and Sun Yi sitting beside him.

Naturally, Shen Haihua had met Sun Yi previously. It was only then when he realized the lady his daughter mentioned that afternoon was, in fact, Sun Yi.

He hired someone to place a background check on Sun Yi and could not help but lament how good Sun Yi’s life was when he found out about her. Not to mention how lucky she was to have climbed up this gigantic dragon that was about to shoot for the skies.

If Ye Chen were to fully level up, Sun Yi would be the phoenix on the branch soon.

He winked at Shen Mengjia as he said “Mengjia, you’re around the same age as Mr. Ye and Ms. Sun right? Keep in contact more in the future. It’s a good time to learn from them. Why don’t you give a toast to Mr. Ye and Ms. Sun?”

Shen Mengjia’s eyed widened. She was already hostile toward Sun Yi. How could her dad make her toast?

Did that not mean she was bowing down to that woman?

She was about to reject the idea when a shrill voice came from the outside.

“That little bitch Sun Yi? What’s her business sneaking around here?”

When they heard the voice, the people seated felt some uneasiness.

Sun Yi? Little bitch?

Shen Haihua angrily glanced over to Xiao Xu who was seated at the corner of the private room and said, “Xiao Xu, get rid of these people of unimportance! Don’t hold back, I’ll cover for you if anything happens.”

“Got it!” Xiao Xu got up, opened the door of the private room and left.

Ye Chen had already guessed who it was as his eyes flashed with an intent to kill.

Did those two ladies want to die? Why were they testing his patience again and again?

The only reason Ye Chen had not killed them was already was because they were ladies!

When Sun Yi heard what the voice outside said, her face went pale and she stood up. Her hand pressed on Ye Chen’s shoulder as she said, “This is my issue, I’ll handle it. You go ahead and continue on with President Shen.”

She had seen how violent Ye Chen could get, to the extent of him daring enough to beat up the father of the Chen family. This guy would not stop for anything.

Moreover, it was obvious that the two people came for only her. It would not be good if she dragged Ye Chen into it.

Ye Chen thought for a few seconds and agreed to it since Shen Haihua’s man had already gone out to confront them. The two ladies could not do too much damage anyways.

Aunt Zhang did not know how to deal with the two aggressive ladies clad head-to-toe in branded clothing when she saw them.

“Um… girls, what’s bothering you guys so much? Is there something that cannot be solved by sitting down and having a talk?”

Sun Yaoyao shot a disapproving look toward Aunt Zhang and took a step back. “Get away from me, you old hag. There are probably hundreds of germs on your dirty clothes. Can’t you see that I’m wearing branded clothing on my perfect body? Will you be able to pay if you dirtied it?”

Aunt Zhang was slightly embarrassed. After all, she was just being honest. All she could do was pull back and apologize. “Um, sorry about that, girl…”

When Uncle Wang heard those hurtful words coming from Sun Yaoyao, he walked straight out from the kitchen and gave Sun Yaoyao and Li Xin a death glare. “You two insolent girls! This place doesn’t welcome people like you! Scram!”

If his wife was insulted, of course, he had to stand up for her! So what if their clothes were dirty? As long as the money they earned was clean, it should not be a shameful thing!

Li Xin was pissed off as she did not expect a poor peasant to talk down to them! She pointed toward Uncle Wang and Aunt Zhang’s noses with her thin fingers as she said, “Do you know who I am? When Uncle Wang heard what she said, he was livid! She almost got a slap from him but when he heard her namedrop River City’s Origins of Science Group, he froze still.

Origins of Science Group was one of River City’s top ten famous enterprises. She was a CEO’s daughter while he was just a meager food stall owner. He could not afford to risk offending someone of that level.

Becoming enemies with old money is a sure way of cutting off one’s entire family’s source of income.

Sun Yaoyao and Li Xin felt an unexplainable pleasure when they saw two people in front of them with their heads down low.

Li Xin looked at the two of them condescendingly and pointed at Uncle Wang’s nose once more as she said, “Is that b*tch Sun Yi inside? I advise you poor peasant to get this b*tch out as soon as possible…”

Before she could finish her sentence, a man wearing a suit appeared in front of her. Immediately, he grabbed her finger and shoved it aside!

“Mr. Ye and President Shen are having a meeting inside. If I hear one more bit of your nonsense, I won’t hold back!”

The man who spoke those words was Xiao Xu who has been in the army for three years. After his discharge, Xiao Xu had been working for Shen Haihua. After many years of working for him, naturally, he learned how to gauge someone’s ability. Seeing how much President Shen respected Mr. Ye as well as acted humbly toward him, that meant that Mr. Ye was someone of importance for President Shen!

Moreover, President Shen requested him to not hold back while taking care of it! Of course, he had to do as he was told!

He had to please Mr. Ye and Ms. Sun who were in the private room at all costs!
