Nobody knew how Sun Yi felt at that moment!

Perhaps she felt like her heart had been swept by stormy waves.

Strictly speaking, it should not have been possible for him to show up there.

This was because he had nothing to do with the Ye family who had been wiped out five years ago!

However, there he was, right before her eyes.

“Ye Cheng… Ye Chen… I should’ve known…”

After murmuring to herself, it hit her and tears began falling uncontrollably!

Sun Yi was then sure that the man in front of her was none other than Ye Chen! He was the guy who went missing five years ago, the guy whom everybody thought was dead although his body was never found.

The guy who had once saved her life was not dead! He was still alive and well!

During their stay together, Sun Yi had actually doubted him before.

Although both of them looked nowhere alike, and despite their personalities being very different, a sense of familiarity told her everything!

“Ye Chen… He’s back… He’s back with earth-shaking power…”

Come to think about it, the person who had died five years ago was perhaps the Ye family’s ‘trash’ who was always being laughed at.

Whereas now, Ye Chen had ripped off that mask and revealed his true colors.

That person underneath the mask was the current Mr. Ye who was looked up upon and flattered by many people!

Sun Yi suddenly thought of the day when she saw Ye Chen’s body by accident. She was shocked to see that his body was full of scars.

What exactly had he gone through throughout the past five years? He must have suffered in pain.

The pain of watching his parents being killed right before his eyes, as well as living in isolation while being consumed by hatred. It was not something an ordinary person could imagine.

She did not dare imagine how helpless the 15-year-old boy must have felt when he fell into the East Coin Lake!

The pain that he had to endure while living was much more terrifying than that of his death!

Step by step, Sun Yi continued to climb up the stairs. Each step seemed to remind her of something from the past.

She could remember vividly just how pale Ye Chen’s face was when Chu Shuran harshly rejected his confession in front of all the teachers and students that day.

She could only watch from afar, watching them point at Ye Chen as they scolded him for being useless!

She wanted to stand up for him, but she did not have the courage. She was far too weak to rebel against those elite children.

However, she knew deep in her heart that Ye Chen was not ‘trash’. The heroic look he had when he drove away those gangsters had been etched on her heart ever since then.

However, since that incident, Ye Chen became depressed, and he no longer smiled. He played truant every day and started living his life like a homeless stray dog.

She tried to give him some advice by asking him a few questions, but he rejected her.

After a while, Ye Chen did not come to class for several days, but the school paid no attention to him.

She went over to his house, and only then did she find out that the place had been sealed-up. The Ye family in River City had been wiped out altogether.

She also got to know that Ye Chen and his parents died at a banquet.

The authorities said that it was an accident. However, the more she got involved, she came to realize that there was a huge conspiracy behind it, a conspiracy that she would never understand.

She climbed up the last step and walked toward Ye Chen who was seemingly drunk.

“Ye Chen… Don’t drink anymore…”

Hearing her clear voice, Ye Chen was slightly stunned. He looked up and saw the beautiful young girl.

A little surprised, he said: “Sun Yi, what are you doing here?”

Wiping off her tears, Sun Yi flashed him a smile. She squatted down and then drank a mouthful of wine after snatching it from his hand.

She had never drunk white wine before, so she started coughing violently.

“This wine is so choking…”

Sun Yi then threw away the bottle of white wine and said in a serious tone, “Stop drinking. Come home with me later.”

As soon she finished her sentence, she lit up a candle and burned incense before kneeling and saying softly without waiting for his reply, “Uncle, Aunty, this is the fifth year that I’m here, long time no see. What I wasn’t expecting was Ye Chen’s return. He has really come back. Uncle, Aunty, don’t worry, I’ll keep an eye on him for you, and I’ll stop him from doing anything stupid. Honestly speaking, I’m really proud of you for giving birth to such a successful child. He’s really the best boy I’ve ever met…”

Seeing her say those words as though she was chatting with her own family members, Ye Chen knew that there was no need to explain anything. She was a smart girl, and she knew what was appropriate to be said.

Sun Yi only lit up the joss papers after talking for about 15 minutes. After waiting for the fire to go out, she stood up, gave a light pat on Ye Chen’s shoulder and said, “You were here since last night, weren’t you? You reek of alcohol. Your parents asked me to keep an eye on you, so you should probably head home, take a bath and then have a good sleep. You hear me?”

Ye Chen was slightly touched by her words, but he said stubbornly, “It’s not like you’re my wife…”

Sun Yi stood up straight and said, “Uncle and Aunty also mentioned that until you find a wife, I’m your wife for the time being! Do you hear me?! Now, let’s go home together. If you have anything else to say, I’ll accompany you here next time…”

Glancing at his parents’ tombstone, Ye Chen thought, ‘Maybe this is what they wanted to see the most.’

He kowtowed for a few more times and asked Sun Yi to head down first as he wanted to say one last thing to his parents.

Sun Yi agreed and started heading down the mountain.

After seeing that Sun Yi was far away, Ye Chen glanced at the head in the plastic bag. He bit his finger and then smeared his blood on the tombstone. “From today onward, the useless Ye Chen is dead in East Coin Lake whereas the current Ye Chen will take back what he lost in the past, one at a time! I’ll deal with those people who showed up at Cloud Lake Manor myself. As for that man from Capital City who’s always above the law, I, Ye Chen, will drag him down with my own hands!”

After that, Ye Chen finally left the place.

An hour later, another girl was seen standing at the bottom of the stairs of Sky Stone Mountain.

She was incredibly beautiful. She was wearing a chiffon shirt paired with a tailor-made DGL jacket and a pair of black leisure pants. It was the perfect complement to her tall and slim figure. Last but not least, she topped it off with a pair of black, pointy low-heel shoes. She looked very dignified and sophisticated.

If Ye Chen and Sun Yi were still there, they would have known that she was none other than Chu Shuran!

Chu Shuran had a nightmare the day before and found herself drenched in sweat when she woke up. Looking at the calendar, she realized that it had been five years since the Cloud Lake Manor incident.

Unknowingly, she had asked her driver to take her to Sky Stone Mountain.

After some effort, she finally managed to locate the Ye family’s tombstone.

She stood in front of the tombstone and looked at the picture of Ye Chen. With a hint of helplessness in her eyes, she said, “Ye Chen, Ye Chen, I was just joking back then. I never expected you to end up like this. I’m beginning to have a few regrets after five years.
