10 pm that night.

Sun Yi did not drive this time. Instead, she walked back to her apartment.

She let the cold breeze blow in her face, hoping it would clear her mind.

The happenings of the day were like an emotional rollercoaster to her.

The man she had been looking down on had actually given her a formula worth a billion as though it was nothing.

Ye Chen had told her that morning that the formula could keep a listed company afloat. Back then, she had turned her nose up at him, assuming that he was just a pathetic fraud telling a tall tale.

“Ye Cheng, did you want me to embarrass myself? Why did you give me something so valuable? Why didn’t you tell me it was real…?”

Sun Yi arrived at her apartment door eventually, and she took out her key but did not dare to open her door.

She was afraid to open the door only to find that Ye Chen was not on the other side.

Su Na’s trampling on it meant that the formula was missing an ingredient, so the group could not use it as it was. That was why Xia Ruoxue had ordered her to find the person behind the formula.

That order came regardless of the cost.

The key went in anyway, and the door opened.

The lights were off inside, and there was no one home.

“He… didn’t come back.”

“Why? Why are you doing this to me? I’m sorry, so won’t you just accept my apology and forgive me?

“If you come back, I’ll do anything you want me to do! I’ll even let you stay here forever! Why don’t you just come back?”

Sun Yi wailed louder and louder. She wanted to air all the grievances she had pent up today.

Just as she was at her most helpless, a lazy voice spoke behind her, “Hey, what are you doing crying at the door, gorgeous? Who hurt you? Do you need a man’s warm embrace?”

When she heard that familiar voice, Sun Yi’s tears immediately dried up!

After that, Ye Chen changed into his slippers and walked in. By then, he saw that Sun Yi was already seated and waiting for him.

She even glanced at him out of the corner of her eye every so often.

“Did I become more handsome today?” Ye Chen said vainly, looking at himself in the mirror.

Just then, Sun Yi bit her lips and finally spoke,

“You… Tell me honestly… Was the serviette you gave me today really the formula for the Beauty Pill?”

Ye Chen blinked. He was wondering why Sun Yi’s attitude had changed so drastically. So it was because of the formula.

The researchers at her place had probably seen it, and they told her how much it was worth.

He took an apple from the platter of fruit on the coffee table, and after rubbing it with his shirt, he brought it to his mouth. “How could I possibly give you a fake? I might trick others, but I’d never trick you.”

Sun Yi had mentally prepared herself for this, but when she heard that the formula was real, her heart still trembled slightly.

She bit her rosy lips and said softly, “You… Why did you give me something so valuable? I… I’ll return it to you.”

Ye Chen stood up and waved her off. “Why would you return it to me? It’s yours now. Did you forget? You accepted that formula in exchange for three thousand bucks and a month’s worth of rent. If you give it back to me, I’ll move out right now and end up on the streets!”

“But…” Sun Yi wanted to say something, but Ye Chen interrupted her.

“No more buts. The one I gave you was the most rudimentary one I had. If you don’t want it, you can just toss it away.”

This man was too casual about this. How could she just throw away something this valuable, something worth a billion bucks?
