Chapter 81 : Extra Chapter : A Day in the Life of a Certain Aide

The day of Maou’s aide started early.

As his consciousness slowly surfaced, he checked the certain thing that was weighing his arm.

His morning started by gazing protectively at Maou who was sleeping soundly.

He didn’t want to wake Maou up so he just stared at Maou without moving a muscle.

Even if by chance Maou overslept for a few hours, he still had to absolutely stand his ground and just stared at Maou.

But the truth was, this idle moment was a very precious time for him.

Because usually Maou belonged to everyone but during this hour, Maou only belonged to him.

When Maou woke up with a yawn, his busy morning finally began.

As soon as Maou woke up, he prepared a warm towel to wipe Maou’s face.

Then he prepared warm water for Maou to take a bath with.

He took great precision in the water temperature, the water mustn’t be too hot or too lukewarm, it had to be just perfect..

With the usage of magic,the residents of Maou’s Castle were able to have hot water anytime they wanted. 

The residents of Maou’s Castle took great pride in this fact.

“I want to take a bath.”

This morning as well, the aide prepared a soft and fluffy bath towel for Maou to use after Maou’s warm bath.

He meticulously tidied the clothes that Maou had nonchalantly flung off, unfazed despite Maou’s naked figure and prepared himself for his next duty.

Yes, if the other demons were to know about his next duty, they would surely attack him for it.

“Wash my head~”

With that word being said, the aide immediately came near Maou and began to wash Maou’s head.

“Mmh~”

Feeling good, Maou closed his eyes.

Helping Maou with his bath was also the duty of Maou’s aide.

His morning started differently on the day Maou needed to fulfill Maou’s duty by mating with various demons.

During this kind of day, Maou would be still sleeping in the mating room so the aide had to sleep in his own room.

The aide would wake up early in the morning and begin cleaning Maou’s personal room with magic.

Afterwards, he would make sure to bring Maou to the Fountain of Life and while Maou was performing Maou’s duty, he would go to the mating room and clean it.

He flipped over the sheets that were defiled with an obvious trace of Maou’s mating session and dealt with it accordingly.

………….. He would eradicate all of the leftover mark, leaving no trace behind.

After disposing of all of last night’s evidence, he prepared brand new sheets.

The aide didn’t want to see the evidence of Maou belonging to someone else even for another second more, hence why he always disposed everything accordingly.

Maou remained oblivious to his aide’s true intention.

All Maou knew was that the sheet was always pristine clean and that was it.

Sometimes, the mating room would be utterly wrecked and the aide could do nothing but sighed before he began his cleaning duty.

Cleaning the aftermath of the spider demon took the longest time compared to any other demon.

He remembered how the room was filled with spiderwebs and cleaning them all was really bothersome.

Now then, after Maou was finished with his bath, the aide was already waiting with a soft towel in hand.

He dutifully started to carefully wipe Maou’s body dry.

Maou looked like he was enjoying this moment so much.

And then, the two of them headed toward the assembly hall to have their breakfast.

There, the aide would have his breakfast as usual but not for Maou.

Maou didn’t necessarily need food so Maou only ate if there was his favourite meal on the menu or when he felt like it.

The main reason why Maou went to the assembly hall was because the other demons were also there.

“Maou-sama! Good morning!”

“Ah, Copper. Good morning.”

“Which reminds me, have you heard Sybyl-san’s heroic tale the other day?”

“Oh? What is it about?”

The demons in this castle spent their days defending and cleaning the castle.

They needed to nurture and educate the children too.

Sometimes they also went outside in search of another demonkind.

In this castle, Alexius was the one who went outside the most.

The Red Dragon would soar freely through the sky, across the country and lands in search of fellow demons.

After breakfast, Maou went to the children’s room.

Of course Maou’s aide followed suit.

“Mao-sama!!”

The children were exclaiming happily as soon as Maou entered the room.

The children had just finished with their meal as well.

Some of them were dozing off, some of them still had sauce on their face.

“How are you guys doing today?~”

“We’re doing fine!~”

Some of the children would snuggle to Maou and some would hug Maou.

This was one of the rare moments where the aide was not jealous despite other demons’ blatant display of affection with Maou.

No one could stay jealous when looking at the children’s happy smile after all.

“Father! Father!”

The aide’s children tugged on his clothes.

“Hm? What is it?”

The aide picked up his children who were still very young.

“I want to learn magic!”

“Yeah, okay.”

The aide was wondering what kind of magic he should teach his children today.

His usual stoic face began to loosen into a warm expression as he taught his children magic.

While the aide and Maou were playing with the children, time passed by and it was time for the children to begin their lesson.

“Maou-sama, would you like to watch the children’s lesson session today?”

One of the demons asked.

“No, I’m only going to be a nuisance if I do.”

Realizing their time with Maou was cut short, the children began to whine.

They voiced their distress openly, saying how they didn’t want to part with Maou yet despite it being the time for their lesson.

“Study properly, okay?”

With that being said, Maou slipped away from the nursery room.

“The children looked so energetic today, huh?”

Maou said to his aide.

“That’s right.”

The children were Maou’s Castle most precious treasure, nothing could replace them.

Watching the children’s growth brought endless joy to every Maou’s Castle resident.

After finishing his daily visit from the nursery room, it was time for Maou to go check Fountain of Life next.

“Yo, Chaos. How’s the eggs today?”

Chaos the Dark Dragon was Maou’s Castle strongest demon, the dragon took it upon himself to guard the eggs in the Fountain of Life.

((There’s one species ready to hatch soon.))

“Really?!”

Maou stared at the eggs in the fountain, there were several species of eggs in there.

“This is… I think these are… Basilisk’s Eggs.”

Maou seemed to know which demons the egg belonged to, probably because Maou was the one who gave birth to all those eggs.

“Can you please call Rin for me?”

“By your will.”

At the request of Maou, the aide went to fetch the father of the eggs.

“Rin.”

“Yes? What is it?”

The basilisk was a gentle looking man with glasses.

“Maou-sama called you to the fountain. Your children are about to be born.”

“What did you say?!”

His eyes widened in surprise.

Then his eyes gradually began to become wet with tears.

“Finally.. The time has come…”

The basilisk eyes, his voice creaked and his chest felt so full.

The aide understood the basilisk’s feelings very well.

With a gentle voice, the aide urged the basilisk to hurry up.

Rin who was still in the middle of washing the dishes became flustered at first before leaving his task to the other demon and ran toward the Fountain of Life.

“Rin-san has been waiting for this moment for a long time already, huh.”

One of the demons suddenly said.

“Yes, I’m so happy for him.”

“It’s a very precious and emotional moment.”

The other demons were all deeply elated for the basilisk.

-Meanwhile in the Fountain of Life-

“Maou-sama, the eggs are?!”

“Rin! They’re about to hatch!”

pishi pishi… mishi

The first egg had already begun to crack.

“Ah… Aah…”

A lizard with the shape of a chicken emerged from the egg.

“So this is a basilisk chick.”

“Yes, that’s right. This is our real form. Ah, so adorable…”

Without any hesitation, Maou scooped the chick into his hand and handed it over to Rin.

Rin accepted the chick with a quivering hand, he stared at his own kid affectionately all the while poisonous tears were streaming down from his eyes.

“Will it be alright if I isolate ourselves from the other demons until they can start taking a humanoid form?”

“Yeah, we don’t want them to accidentally petrify other demons after all. When they can finally shift into humanoid form, I’ll be sure to prepare the enchanted glasses for them.”

“Pii! Pii! Pii!”

The chick crowed excitedly, as if he was trying to prove he was alive and well.

“Yes, thank you for being born. I’ve been waiting for all of you. I’ll make sure you guys grow into a fine demon that won’t hurt others indiscriminately. From now on, we will have to learn how to coexist with other demons.”

Rin told the chick reverently, as if he was praying for their own future.

pishi… pishi pishi pishi

The other chicks also began to emerge from their shell.

It appeared like Rin’s tear ducts were having an overtime today.

Midday came and it was time for lunch

“Master, did Rin’s eggs were able to hatch successfully?”

“Yes, all of them hatched. I’m so glad.”

Tonight, Maou was having omelette rice for dinner.

“Rin didn’t stop crying, right?”

“Yeah, thanks to him the floor is full of holes.”

Despite what they said, the other demons were happy for Rin, their words held no venom at all.

In the afternoon, Maou would be in the audience hall, waiting for a guest to come or in his office, writing and checking on documents. 

Sometimes Maou would have a meeting with other demons too.

Then came night time.

“Fuh~ Taking a bath feels so refreshing!~”

“That’s great.”

After taking another bath, Maou looked so comfortable and happy while having his aide wiped his body.

“Then shall we go to sleep now?”

“Yes.”

Then it was time for the aide to fulfill his duty as Maou’s arm-pillow.

While watching Maou sleeping peacefully, the aide thought to himself.

“Today, I got to be with my master for the whole day. I hope I can do the same tomorrow too.”

According to a certain aide, there was no greater happiness than staying by his master’s side. 

Today was another good day for this certain aide.
