Chapter 481 Trial's End

Pangu's fists were curled, his knuckles lined with sharp spikes. As soon as he got within range of Elena, he swung his fists rapidly, making them seem like a curtain of fists that Elena could not dodge.

But instead of trying to retreat, Elena met each fist with one of hers, matching Pangu's raw strength without falling back. After a couple of seconds, she even seemed to be overpowering him.

Beiger watched all this from the back with shock before snapping back to reality. His mind worked quickly as he conjured up spears of ice and threw that at Elena. The spears of ice arced through the air, forcing Elena to give up on her target and try to dodge, but the spears moved like they had minds of their own.

Elena's body twisted and turned in a fluid way that was guided by her subconscious mind. Right now, she was not in her right senses and was being controlled by her instincts. The attacks from earlier had knocked her right out.

Whoosh!

The winds stirred up from the battle in the sky mixed with those from down below. Mica was currently tied with the guardian of the trial and both of them extended a small portion of their awareness to oversee the battle beneath them.

Mica was shocked. He had been worried for Elena's life, but seeing her in this form sent shivers down his back. Elena was displaying a frightening combat power even though she was not conscious, which meant that her true power if she was able to master this state would be even higher!

"Stop!"

All of a sudden, the guardian of the trial roared and the world suddenly froze. As guardian, it had complete control over the trial grounds and freezing everything like this was child's play to it.

Down below, Elena froze as she was about to dig her claws into Pangu's body. The guardian cast a look at her and she fell down, unconscious.

"What did you do?!" Mica growled as the golden light that suffused his body and made it up in this state pulsed. He was able to fight against the forces that held him in place by utilizing his will in full.

"Hold on, hold on! She's fine. Look!" The guardian immediately said and pointed at Elena. Mica glanced down to find that Elena had returned to her normal Beastkin look. Her clothes were a bit ripped and burnt, but her wounds had healed and she was fine.

"What now?" Mica sighed when he saw that Elena was fine, then turned his attention back to his opponent.

"Now, you pass!" The guardian suddenly declared and grinned, revealing sharp teeth.

"...What?" Mica was taken aback by the sudden declaration.

"Yes, you pass." The guardian repeated again. "I am sure that you had been expecting us to fight to the death, yes? Don't worry, that is not a necessity in this trial. I just need to give my approval and you would be seen as worthy to receive this inheritance."

"I see." Mica remained quiet as the guardian slowly descended and he followed.

"I have honestly simply wanted to meet a unique individual all this while. It is not just pure strength and power that matters. It seems you and the girl have been what I was waiting for." The guardian said in a jovial tone as he landed a short distance from Elena. He moved forward but stopped when Mica landed in a defensive position at Elena's side with a shrunken down body. He cast a distrustful gaze at the guardian before looking down at Elena and enveloping her body with a golden corona of light.

She was already healed but he still tried again just to be sure.

"She is fine. I will wake her up now." The guardian waved his hand and Elena was roused from her unconscious state.

"Ugh..." Elena groaned as she regained her wits and slowly looked around. She could tell that the battle around her was over, but was still on guard. But she let herself relax a bit when she saw Mica hover above her.

"Mica? Did you finish them off?" She asked, aware that she had been beaten into unconsciousness.

"No, but the trial is over. How are you?" Mica asked, his tone soft and reassuring.

"I'm fine. I feel great, actually. A bit tired and worn out, but great nonetheless." Elena responded as she sat up and rolled her shoulders. She also noticed that the three Dragonkin that she had fought were standing a bit away, along with the one Mica had been fighting.

"What happened while I was out?" She asked with confusion.

Mica sighed and leaned in close before resting his forehead against hers. A golden glow lit up as he shared his memories of what had happened after she had lost consciousness. Before long, Elena was seated with wide eyes, shocked at what she saw.

"That is... me?" She was unable to comprehend. She was a Beastkin, not a Werewolf. So how had she turned into a Werewolf, and an abnormally powerful one at that?

"As shocking as it looks, yes, that is you." The trial guardian knew what had transpired and said in an amused tone. "And as much as I would love to talk, I believe it is time to round up this trial." He clapped his hands and the terrain instantly changed. The burnt and destroyed terrain instantly transformed into a smaller, lusher patch of grassland.

The group appeared in the center of the grassland with a single thing present besides them.

In the center of the land, a small podium with a golden box sat quietly.

"This," the trial guardian said and walked over but did not touch the box, "Is the reward for the trial. Only the one who has been recognized by myself can accept it." Its sharp reptilian eyes looked at both Elena and Mica.

"Please, both of you, step forward and place your hands on the box!"

Mica and Elena shared a look before stepping closer and doing as they were told. Immediately, a deep blue and mysterious aura began to emanate from the box. Cracks across space suddenly began to appear before abruptly repairing themselves.n.-O..v--e(/L()b-/1)-n

The trial guardian appeared to be taken aback for a moment before abruptly falling to his knees. The three others followed after him a second later.

"Master! We greet you! It is an honor to be in your glorious presence!" The trial guardian exclaimed with fervor.
