Chapter 314 - Why Not!

Ashley was stunned at what Grandma Hanada asked. She just said it to herself that if that was the question, she was going to ask her. She didn't have a definite answer as she herself still didn't know what she wanted. And then, that damn question popped up!

Ashley first inhaled deeply before answering, "Grandma, if in case. this is an 'if' in case… that Tanaga wished that we be together again then… why not! We aren't divorced and he is the father of my twins." Ashley then faced down because she couldn't look directly at the eyes of the old lady.

Then she added, "...But for me, I think it would be better if we don't. I need to see for myself if I can take it in case, we really get divorced. We aren't sure where the wind of fate will carry us. right?"

"Hmm, you do have a point. Let's change the topic. Have you said to your parents that Tanaga was still alive?" Grandma Hanada feigned ignorance and she was praying that Ashley would not notice it.

Ashley's voice was on the low side when she answered, "Not yet, I would have informed them when Tanaga visited us. Because he just left, and it could also be that he will be extremely busy because of his long absence… I don't think he will return anytime soon"

'That's what you thought. Hahaha, if you just know that there is a chance that he will be knocking at your door later tonight.' Grandma Hanada thought.

"But what if for example, he thought of visiting? Let's say tomorrow or the day after that, what will happen? Why don't you tell them later while we are having our breakfast? If you need to, I am willing to be the one to tell them the story. What do you think?"

Ashley ended up thinking about what she heard, and she suddenly got nervous. Why was it that Grandma Hanada was coaxing her so much to tell her family about Tanaga? It only meant one thing –Tanaga was on his way from Japan.

"Grandma, please tell me the truth… is Tanaga on the way already? I need to know the truth before I decide if I would tell my family or not." Ashley went straight to the point asked while wrinkles appeared on her forehead.

Grandma Hanada had no other choice but, to tell the truth to Ashley. "Granddaughter, I apologize! Please don't be mad at your Grandma, you know that I can't stop him if he truly wants to visit you guys. Maybe he just missed the kids. Hahaha, that's it! He just missed you, so he is visiting." The old lady teased, because of this Ashley's face reddened.

As a form of escape, Ashley said she needed to prepare so that she could go to work. "I will be thinking about my decision, I hope you guys understand." Ashley hugged the old lady then helped her get up.

While Ashley was taking a shower, she couldn't help but worry about the past of Tanaga and her. She didn't notice that there were tears flowing mixed in the water that is dripping from the showerhead because even if she didn't say it her heart knew that she already missed Tanaga so much.

The reason why she was afraid to be together with him was that she was worried that he no longer had feelings for her because he didn't have memories of her. At the time that she had finished dressing up, she had decided what to do.

When Ashley got down to have her breakfast before going to work, everybody was already present at the table. On the head-table was Grandma Hanada sitting on the end of it, while on the other end was Father Jessie.

On Father Jessie's right was Mother Fely's seat, and on his left was Arnel, while beside him is Arnold. Inday and Tiny were seated beside Mother Fely while Harumi was on Grandma Hanada's left.

Ashley just stood there and didn't go straight to her seat. She observed her family before smiling beautifully and greeted them. "Good morning, my family and my friends!" Before seating on the vacant seat on the right of Grandma Hanada.

Everybody didn't start eating since they waited for Ashley. When she sat, they all held each other's hand for their usual morning prayer to thank God for the blessings they had received.

When Father Jessie finished giving grace, they all replied with an 'Amen!' Just then they started to eat.

While they were eating Ashley was thinking about how to tell her family about the fact that Tanaga was still alive… She couldn't help but remember about the last Christmas where they were happy together with Tanaga, Sato, Tiny, and her elder brother Arthur who was thanking God for the blessings they had feasted on.

Then suddenly tears started to form in Ashley's eyes, and she couldn't stop it. She just pretended to have dust on her eyes, and she wiped off the tears that flowed because she really missed her husband so much.

"Dad, mom, elder brothers, and Inday. Except for Mr. Tiny, I want to inform you that Tanaga is alive, there I said it! Did you hear it? I said, Tanaga is alive and currently heading here., Ashley said while streaks of tears are flowing from her eyes.

Mr. Gusman was first to recover from everybody's astonishment and stood up to hug his daughter.

"Hahaha! That's good news dear! How did that happen? Is what you said true? Dear, I know you can't accept that you no longer have a husband, are you sure you're not dreaming?" Mr. Gusman worriedly asked her daughter while wiping her wet cheeks.

"Huh-huh-huh! That's not it dad, I know that he was actually alive. I will tell the whole picture next time I have time. Look! I will be late for work," Ashley vaguely answered and escaped her father.

"It's all right, I understand. Go on so that you won't be late. Even if you are the boss, it would be bad if your subordinate thinks that you are abusing your power because you are the husband of the owner," Mr. Gusman said while pulling the chair for her to stand and leave.

Everybody was silent and couldn't move a finger. Everyone had an obviously worried look on their faces as they looked at Ashley…
