Chapter 306 - It's A Deal!

Tanaga confessed everything to Ashley. Neither of them noticed that they were shedding tears while talking. As he looked at Ashley, he felt his heart beating faster than its usual pace. He was waiting for Ashley's response, hoping that he would be forgiven for all of his mistakes.

Ashley slowly withdrew her hand from Tanaga's grip. She wiped her tears before saying, "Thank you for telling me everything. Could you please stand up? I'm the one having a hard time for you."

Tanaga did what she said and stood up to sit beside Ashley. He was holding his breath because he still didn't know how Ashley felt about him; he didn't know if he was forgiven for what he did to her earlier.

"Ashley? Are you forgiving me?" Tanaga asked, making his face as sympathizing as he could.

Ashley sighed as she was having a hard time telling Tanaga how she really felt that time. It might be also a sign of her accepting what was stated in the new contract. Yet even though Tanaga asked for forgiveness and was right in front of her, she still was not ready to reconcile with him, hence why she couldn't give him an answer immediately.

Ashley sighed again. "I forgive you for what you said earlier and what happened. Don't worry, I won't destroy your image of my family. I will also say what you've just said now to let them understand the situation. But still, I won't reconcile you for now. As you still haven't fully recovered and you might still not remember me in the future, let's separate our paths for a while – just for now." Ashley couldn't look straight at Tanaga while she spoke. Instead, she closed her eyes so that she couldn't see Tanaga's reaction to what she said.

Tanaga stood up from his seat after hearing Ashley's words. "What do you mean? You told me that I'm already forgiven so why do you still not want to get back together?" Tanaga shouted furiously.

Ashley opened her eyes and looked directly at Tanaga before sternly answering, "I wish you could understand me. Even now you still cannot recollect all your memories so there is still a chance you may not recollect it again, even in the future. What if we get back together and you realize that you can't stand living with me and that you're disgusted in me and don't even trust me – what will happen then? Why don't we just act according to the contract? You will go back to Japan while I and our kids are here in America. You can visit them anytime you want. When the time comes, and all your memories of me are back, then we'll talk. What do you think?"

Tanaga was thinking about what to answer. He knew that Ashley had a good point. The truth was that he himself was still not too sure about how he felt.

Then Tanaga replied, using his head over his heart, "Fine, let time decide for us. I'll let you explain everything to your family about me… and us. If you wish something from me, say it and if I can, I'll do it – I'll give it to you. That is how I'll express my gratitude to you for giving me, two kids."

Ashley nodded in agreement. "I do have one wish in mind. I wish you could give this to me," she answered without any hesitation.

"Name it. Just as I said, if I can I'll do it."

"First of all, I want you to take Butler Ruffy when you go back to Japan. Second, I know your family gave us three bodyguards for our protection, but I only need Tiny. Take the other two with you to Japan. I'm not finished yet – because my family is here and also Inday, I want to work as soon as I can. I'm fine with you supporting our kids, but not me and my family. So, if it is okay, I want to work in one of the branches of the THJ Group here. Can you help me with that part?"

Tanaga was shocked at Ashley's demands, but these weren't difficult for him to fulfill. Firstly, the position of President here was still idle the moment they removed Takashi from that position after the accident.

Tanaga thought of giving the position to Ashley so that she could be paid a high salary, also meaning that she could live without him.

For Tanaga, it was a good opportunity as Ashley could use what she had already learned and learned more through business. He was about to agree to it, but Ashley added more to her request. "Before I forget, please find us a smaller house. The house is too big for us and I'll be having a hard time paying expenses there. I'll be using the SUV for the kids, but I want you to replace the cars that my brothers are using with a cheaper one. That's all. Thank you so much if you can do this favor to me."

Tanaga was speechless on how and what Ashley was speaking. He was thinking that it was one of the things he liked about her. She was not the gold digger type of woman; she would take any burden for her family's sake. He suddenly prayed to God for his memories to come back.

"Deal! I accept all your requests. We don't need a contract around here so give me the envelope I gave to you earlier. I don't have my copy anymore, nor does my lawyer. About our first contract – your copy will be down to the garbage pit. Starting from today, we'll start again, and I'll go back to Japan to fix the things I left there. After that, I'll come back here so that I can see my sons. And about us – I want to know you again as I want to court you. Is that okay?" Tanaga said, smiling like a teenager in his time of puppy love.

Ashley's jaw dropped on what she heard and didn't know how to choose her words. She thought first before answering him. "Deal!" Then she stretched her right hand to initiate a handshake with her husband.
