TL: Moonlit

Reminder: The “female” mentioned in this series is a “he” and not a “she”. In other words, they are males but are called “females” because they are capable of giving birth.

Lin Su was worried that someone would come during the treatment, so he didn’t dare to waste time. The green light emerged from his palm once again. Due to the large wound, Lin Su could only start by repairing the internal wall and stopping the bleeding.

Even so, Lin Su was struggling. With one hand, he repaired the wound on the Black Flame Leopard, while his other hand pressed against the ground, replenishing the depleted wood-based abilities from the forest.

Watching the small female gradually turn pale, gratitude reflected in the deep blue pupils of the Black Flame Leopard. “Thank you. If you ever need help in the future, feel free to come find me.”

Lin Su glanced at it and replied, “Then help me with hunting. Not too much, just once every seven days. More for the smaller ones, less for the larger ones. Any kind of meat will do.”

Unexpectedly, Lin Su’s request was so simple and plain. The Black Flame Leopard nodded in agreement. “Alright.”

Finally, Lin Su couldn’t hold on any longer and lowered his hand. Beads of sweat formed on his pale forehead, and his lips turned pale as if he had been seriously ill.

“Are you okay?” With Lin Su’s healing, the Black Flame Leopard’s condition improved significantly. It was about to get up after slowly flipping over, but Lin Su stopped it with a firm voice. “Don’t move, it’s not fully healed yet.”

“Roar!” Seeing its father able to move, the little cub jumped up and rubbed against the Black Flame Leopard, letting out a roar.

The Black Flame Leopard stood up slowly. “It’s enough. I can heal the remaining wounds myself.”

As an S-rank Contract Beast, its self-healing ability was formidable. Even if Lin Su hadn’t completely healed it, the remaining injuries could be dealt with using its own regenerative power. It would just take some time.

There would no longer be a life-threatening situation.

“The time is almost up. You have to leave this place quickly. When the energy in my voice dissipates, those people and Contract Beasts will realize it and rush here. Thank you, little female. I’ll remember your request. Can you tell me your name?”

“I’m Lin Su. I’ll come back tomorrow at this time to treat you again.”

Lin Su stood up from the ground after resting for a while and replenished some wood-based energy. Finally, his complexion improved.

“I’m Yan Lie. Thank you for your help this time. See you tomorrow.”

After saying that, the Black Flame Leopard picked up the little cub from the ground, leaped into the air, and disappeared into the depths of the forest.

Lin Su watched as the other party left and glanced at the blood of the S-rank Contract Beast on the ground. It could be said that the essence of the Contract Beast’s power resided in its blood.

It wouldn’t be long before the hunters arrived, following the scent.

Lin Su turned around and leaped onto a large tree, leaving this troublesome place.

Shortly after he left, several figures arrived at the spot where Lin Su had stayed before, staring at the bloodstains on the ground with regret.

Lin Su retraced his steps and caught three wild chickens without stopping, then headed straight back to the hunting point exit.

The young male responsible for collecting tickets boredly gazed into the depths of the forest. It was past the peak hunting period, and there weren’t many people coming at the moment, but his job wasn’t over yet.

As he idly daydreamed, he suddenly saw a tall and slender young man walking from not far away. The young man was wearing a simple T-shirt, revealing a pair of porcelain-white slender arms that glimmered in the sunlight. However, what surprised him the most was that the young man was casually holding three well-built chickens with one hand.

Subconsciously, he looked at the young man’s face. The young man had delicate facial features with round, bright cat-like eyes. His black pupils were as clear and translucent as obsidian, exuding a profound sense of mystery.

Under the high-bridged nose, his thin lips were slightly pursed, giving him a slightly innocent and obedient look.

It was the little female who had entered the forest alone in the morning.

Recognizing Lin Su, the young male looked at him with complex emotions as he held the items in his hand. “…Did you come here to capture these things?”

Lin Su tossed the items to him. “Yes, that’s right.”

The young male caught the items and watched as Lin Su left, completely unable to understand what this good-looking little female was thinking.

What was the point of bringing back a bunch of these things to eat? Did he think he was a Contract Beast, capable of digesting anything?

On the way back with the three chickens in hand, Lin Su encountered Tang Ran who was working in the courtyard. When Tang Ran saw what he was carrying, he immediately put down his work and leaned over the courtyard gate to take a look.

His eyes were filled with confusion about why Lin Su had brought back these things.

Su Jin saw him return and hurriedly opened the courtyard gate. When he saw him holding three wild chickens, he exclaimed, “Where did you get these?”

The wild chickens in this world were robust, and Su Jin wanted to lend a hand, but Lin Su refused.

These creatures had sharp claws, and Lin Su was worried that Su Jin might get injured. He sidestepped him and dropped the chickens on the ground. He tied their legs together with grass ropes, making it impossible for them to fly.

Once he arranged a chicken coop, he could raise them for a while and perhaps even get some eggs.

“I had someone catch them in the Star Mist Forest.”

Lin Su didn’t dare to say that he had entered the forest himself, or else Su Jin would surely worry. As he said that, Su Jin didn’t comment much and just asked, “How do we eat these?”

“We’ll stew them. Male Father needs to replenish his body. Just eating vegetables won’t be enough. I’ll wash my hands. Female Father, don’t move. I’ll clean up later.”

Lin Su not only wanted to wash his hands but also change his clothes. After treating Yan Lie just now, he felt a strong scent of blood on himself, which made him very uncomfortable.

William, who was sitting there with his eyes closed, suddenly opened his eyes when Lin Su entered the room.

His alert golden beast eyes focused on Lin Su, causing the pair of dog ears on top of his head to stand up.

S-rank Contract Beast, where did Lin Su just go?

To be covered in such a strong scent, it must have been more than just a casual encounter.

William furrowed his brow, feeling displeased as if his territorially marked domain had been invaded by an outsider.

The fox tail scattered on the side impatiently swayed.

Lin Su, who had just finished bathing and changed into clean clothes, happened to witness this scene. His black pupils followed the swaying tail, confirming his fondness for such fluffy and large tails, which felt particularly fulfilling when embraced.

Thinking about the sensation of holding the large tail in the morning, Lin Su couldn’t help but feel tempted.

Lost in his thoughts, he unexpectedly locked eyes with William.

The golden beast eyes of the other party lacked the previous ferocity and wickedness, and the pupils remained elliptical instead of becoming slits. For some reason, Lin Su felt a hint of grievance from them.

He just wanted to take another look and confirm if it was his imagination, but William suddenly closed his eyes, turned his head, and even the pair of large, fluffy dog ears drooped dejectedly. The big tail scattered on the side stopped wagging as well.

His whole being seemed to scream, ‘I’m unhappy.’

Lin Su: “…”

Is he throwing a tantrum?

Is he mad because of touching his tail in the morning?

But everything was fine when they left in the morning. Is his reflex arc too long?

“Cough, I just caught a few wild chickens. We’ll stew them later. Have you ever tried wild chicken? It tastes great.”

As Lin Su spoke, he observed William. Although the latter didn’t turn around to look at him, the dog ears on top of his head stood up again, indicating that he was still listening.

Looking at those big, fluffy ears that were pink and tender on the inside, Lin Su finally couldn’t control himself. He reached out and quickly pinched them, then jumped up and ran outside, saying, “If you’re bored, we can go outside for some fresh air after dinner.”

William turned his head to look at the door, which closed softly after Lin Su left. His hand involuntarily curled up, and a hint of regret appeared in his eyes.

Lin Su found a few boards and temporarily built a chicken coop. He tied two wild chickens inside and fed them some water and vegetable leaves to replenish their energy and encourage egg-laying.

The remaining chicken wasn’t as lucky.

He boiled a pot of hot water, plucked off the feathers, and placed the bare chicken in a basin. Its large size made it resemble a goose.

He cut it in half. Lin Su prepared to stew one half for soup and use the other half to make a chicken and mushroom stew.

Initially, when it was first put in the pot, there wasn’t much aroma. However, as time passed, Su Jin, who was working in the yard, suddenly looked up and glanced toward the kitchen.

An indescribable fragrance wafted out from the kitchen, a scent he had never smelled before.

Kane and William, who were separately lying in their rooms, were also drawn to this aroma.

Their senses, even more sensitive than females, had already been enticed by this enticing smell before Su Jin even noticed it.

Thinking about the wild chicken that Lin Su mentioned earlier, could this be the smell of wild chicken?

While on the Capital Star, he occasionally ate purified fruits and vegetables, but he had never eaten meat. After all, compared to purified plants, purifying meat was more challenging.

Lin Su also didn’t expect it to be so fragrant. Removing all the impurities from the meat, this kind of natural ingredient, even without any special seasoning, was still so delicious that it made people salivate uncontrollably.

At that moment, Tang Ran, who was busy in the yard, suddenly raised his head and looked directly towards Lin Su’s house.

His nose twitched, and the scent permeating the air made him instinctively swallow.

Unlike the smells he had smelled before, this time it seemed even more fragrant.

What was Lin Su doing in his house?

How could the aroma be so enticing that it was impossible to restrain the salivation?

Tang Ou came out of the house, stood at the doorway for a while, and couldn’t help but say, “Female Father, what are they doing in their house? How can it smell so good?”

It was too fragrant. If he could somewhat restrain himself from the previous smells, this time the aroma was so enticing that he couldn’t control the secretion of saliva.

Tang Ran was irritated by this scent. It was too painful to only be able to smell but not taste it.

He threw the things in his hand to the side and glared towards Lin Su’s house with a resentful gaze. “There are clearly two mentally disturbed males in that house, yet they’re feeding them these impure fruits and vegetables. They must have ulterior motives!”

Tang Ou, who suddenly heard these words, replied in a daze, “If it’s so fragrant, even if it’s poisonous, I’m willing to try it.”

Tang Ran raised his hand and slapped him on the head. “You’re useless! Don’t embarrass yourself here. Go back inside!”

Tang Ou covered the spot where he was hit, looking pitiful, and glanced at Lin Su’s house. He regretted it a bit. If he hadn’t made his relationship with Lin Su so tense, he could at least go there and shamelessly mooch a meal now.

Following Tang Ou, Tang Ran looked at Lin Su’s house with a gloomy expression when he closed the door.

He snorted coldly.
