In a friendly atmosphere, only Executive Director Min had a very cold attitude. The frozen atmosphere disappeared when it was time to greet guests. The guests complimented Executive Director Min on his handsome and nice appearance, but Jun-Kyung didn’t see it that way.

‘Is there going to be a murder?’

No matter how bad the relationship is, is there a need to hate her so much when she is his biological mother?Jun-Kyung wanted to understand, but he knows that family circumstances are complicated. Sometimes, there are even cases where the relationship between parents and children is worse than enemies. He was merely curious how it got to that point.

Jun-Kyung didn’t have a particular desire for a wedding. While serving as a bodyguard, he was often mobilized for various celebrities or VIP weddings, so even if he was the main character to the wedding, he was not thrilled.

The new groom, Executive Director Min, attracted people’s attention by radiating overwhelming energy as usual. It wasn’t that he was not handsome, just that he became even more handsome since he was specially dressed up. Director Min insisted on getting married, and Jun-Kyung felt that the whole wedding was rather overdone.

‘Should I have worn white?’

Black is nice. Jun-Kyung just regretted it a little bit. Since he is born as a male and is marrying his husband, he figured it’d be a little less embarrassing in front of his small classmates and colleagues if he wears black. That way, it will seem less like he’s marrying into Director Min’s family.

Since they were a male couple, many things were different. The host was Jun-Kyung’s senior Gun-young. Instead of officiating, the fathers of both families gave short words of blessings. Jun-Kyung thought that madam would give a long speech, but when she took the microphone, she felt overwhelmed and just told them to live well.

Even though they were an alpha-omega couple, their friends didn’t force them to show a public display of affections or kisses because of their outward image. Jun-Kyung wasn’t even sure if anyone would dare to try something like that against Executive Director Min.

Before they knew it, the ceremony ended within a short time. Naturally, the official greetings between the bride and the groom family were omitted. Jun-Kyung’s guess is that madam wanted to prevent the tension between families.

It was a short wedding, so after the ceremony, the two changed into hanbok (Korea’s traditional clothings) and walked around the table to say hello.

Among them was the family of Executive Director Min’s birth mother. Mr. Moreno greeted Executive Director Min and Jun-Kyung with a very warm smile and congratulated them in Italian. Jun-Kyung didn’t understand the contents, but just by looking at his expression, he could  guess that Mr. Morena was giving them warm blessings.

The twins also greeted their half older brother very warmly, but only Yoo Min-Jung, the mother, had a cold expression. It looks just like Executive Director Min. It’s understandable since they are  related.

“You’ve lost weight.”

“Yes, you look well too.”

At those words, Yoo Min-Jung glared at Director Min very fiercely. There was an empty wine bottle on the table, apparently ordered separately during the ceremony. Since the twins and Mr. Moreno look normal, most of them seem to be drunk by Yoo Min-Jung.

“How long will you be here?”

“Are you telling me to leave now that the business is finished?”

Jun-Kyung thought he would refute it but Executive Director Min simply replied, “Yes.”

An ice storm hit the table again.

It was the first time that Executive Director Min had openly displayed hostility toward someone. Even when he has an argument with the chairman, his voice would get louder in earnest, but he doesn’t start a fight first.

“What are you doing here?” The chairman appeared from behind. Seeing madam watching from a distance, she must have sent him to stop the two.

“Can’t I show my face at my son’s wedding?”

“If you’re going to fight like this on a good day, do you really need to? We just need to call each other on the phone.”

“I didn’t start it.” A sharp conversation took place like a divorced couple.

On the contrary, the chairman greeted Mr. Moreno and the twins in English, thanking them for coming from afar. The atmosphere with the chairman was better with the twins bowing their butts off their seats and Mr. Moreno watching silently.

The chairman took executive director Min to another table. Jun-Kyung also tried to follow, but Yoo Min-Jung caught him. Executive Director Min looked back with grim eyes.

“I won’t eat your husband.”

At the cold mother’s reply and the chairman’s insistence, Executive Director Min was forced to leave to say hi to the VIP guests. The twins also immediately left as if they were feeling stuffy. Mr. Moreno just smiled kindly and immersed himself in the remaining meal.

“Sit down.”

“Yes.”

“You said you were pregnant?”

“Yes.” Jun-Kyung responded calmly to the cold question. Yoo Min-Jung glared at Jun-kyung fiercely, not someone like a drunk person.

Jun-Kyung doesn’t know why she had a bad relationship with Executive Director Min, but it is not nice to unilaterally be rude to someone. It’s rude of her as an elder, so Jun-Kyung hit it right back.

Yoo Min-jung snorted. “You have more personality than you look.”

“I’ll take it as a compliment.”

“It’s a compliment.” Yoo Min-jung lifted a bottle of wine. Noticing that it was empty, she tried to call the staff, but Mr. Moreno tries to stop her.

“I am a wine farmer. I’m doing this because I want to taste the best wine while I’m at the hotel, so leave me alone.”

“How long have you known Hyun-Seung?”

“Less than a year.”

“Really? Pregnancy and marriage are so fast.”

“Yes.” It’s a bit fast, but there are plenty of people faster than this.

Yoo Min-Jung leaned and rested her chin on her hand, “How well do you know Hyun-Seung?”

It was difficult to grasp the intent of the question. “What do you mean?”

“Do you know what kind of person you are marrying?”

The questions were getting more and more intrusive.

“I think I know enough to get married.”

“Well, the choice is yours to make, and the outcome is yours to lose.”

Yoo Min-jung stretched out her arm and drank all the wine Mr. Moreno left behind.

“If you have said all you have to say, I will stand up.”

“It sounds strange to say this, but… be careful.”

Jun-Kyung stood up from his seat and stared at the other person with the most unpleasant gaze.

“My son Hyun-Seung brings misfortune.”

“No matter how bad your relationship with him is, I don’t think there’s any need for you to say that to me at the wedding.”

Yoo Min-jung smiled, “Do you know why I got divorced?”

“I do not know.”

“There was no particular problem with Min Chang-Heon. Even though there was no love, I was just fine. Until Min Hyun-Seung was born. It gave me goosebumps. I thought that one day he might end up eating people. Look at those scary eyes.”

Yoo Min-Jung turned her head to the direction she was pointing at and saw Director Min looking this way. His eyes look like he was gonna kill someone. However, if his birth mother swears at him like this, even Jun-kyung will look at her the same way. In fact, Jun-Kyung’s current mood was not very different from that of Director Min.

“You seem to have drunk a lot. If you husband comes, I think it would be better for you to go back and rest.”

“Don’t you know? He eats my son Hyun-Jun and the good Hyun-Woo as well. Who do you think will be next?”

“Both are accidents.”

“Do you really think so?”

“If not an accident, what is?”

Jun-Kyung’s blood level rose at the mention of Min Hyun-Woo. It was an accident. Many people are deeply hurt because of the fool who went fishing in the sea in the bad weather.

Jun-Kyung was no exception. He suffered from nightmares for more than a month after the funeral, which was held over an empty coffin. What a month it was! If he hadn’t been distracted by the sudden pregnancy and the marriage proposal, he would’ve still been stuck in the apartment with the musty small.

‘It’s not anyone’s fault. Damn it. Who is the crazy bastard who would really die just because someone told him to die in an argument’

Even more so, Executive Director Min has nothing to do with it.

“Apart from Min Chang-Heon and my karma, I’m saying this because I’m worried he’ll eat the children of people who I don’t even have a relationship with. Poor Jeong Gyo-Jin. She lost her own child while hanging around Hyun-Seung for no reason. Be careful not to be like that too. Divorce quickly and run away. I warned you. At least I’ve done my responsibilities. What happens next is entirely up to you.”

“I don’t know how you can say stupid things about the very child you give birth to and come to the wedding to say such meaningless things.” Jun-Kyung gave a cold reply.

There was a reason why Executive Director Min hated his birth mother. To think that the mother would think that her real son is creepy and eats people, Jun-Kyung suspected child abuse.

If there is any problem with Executive Director Min, it is entirely due to Yoo Min-jung and chairman Min Chang-Heon. In fact, his biological father treated him just as badly as his mother. He even beats his own grown son. Jun-Kyung wondered what it was like when Director Min was younger.

Jun-Kyung thought Director Min was born with a golden spoon and enjoyed a good life. He felt very sorry for Director Min who grew up under such ruthless and mean parents.

“Min-Jung.” Just in time, Mr. Moreno returned.

Just when Jun-Kyung was about to leave, she took out her business card and placed it in Jun-Kyung’s hand. “Take this”.

He wanted to throw it right away, but Mr. Moreno was watching. The other table guests were also glancing as if they could sense the atmosphere from here.

“My contact. If you have any questions later, call me here. Actually, I came all the way here to give this to you. Hyun-Seung won’t tell me your number even if he dies.” After those words, Yoo Min-Jung stood up from her seat. Mr. Moreno once again greeted Jun-kyung in a friendly manner. How did such a person become entangled with Yoo Min-jung?

“Jun-Kyung.” Executive Director Min approached the table. He glared at the family leaving the ceremony hall with an unkind gaze and looked at Jun-kyung with a gentle gaze as if he wasn’t glaring a while ago.

“Has everything been okay?”

“Yes, why?”

“Did they say anything weird?”

She said a lot of strange things, but Jun-Kyung didn’t have the heart to say it. It was just nonsense that would be forgotten soon.

“Not Really.”

“Really? That’s a relief.”

“I understand why you and her don’t get along.” What she did was too much at her own son’s wedding.

Is it because of the formal ceremony? Jun-Kyung ended up taking the side of Executive Director Min. As the main character of this wedding, Director Min attracted many people’s attention, but Jun-kyung took Director Min’s hand and intertwined his fingers through them.

Thank you so much for the Ko-fi! I will be taking a short break due to MCAT in May. After that, I will be back on schedule with rapid chapter releases. Thank you so much for all the support
