Two days later.

Caroline was talking to her mother on the phone. "Mother, did the package already arrived?" she asked excitedly.

"Yes, it just comes this morning. I put the package in your room," Thelma answered.

"Okay, thanks, Mother. I will visit you guys, maybe tomorrow. How's everyone?"

"We're all fine here. How about you? How is your husband treating you? Still the same or he changes a bit?" Thelma asked worriedly.

"Mother, stop worrying. My husband loves me dearly, he's still sweet and loving to me. No changes with his behavior at all," Caroline assured her mother.

"Thank God! I'm worrying all this time thinking that your husband will give you a hard time after your return considering that you got pregnant," Thelma explained her fears.

Caroline dismissed her worries. "Your worry didn't materialize, Mom. So please stop worrying about me and my husband. We're fine and everything is good with my life," she said to eliminate her mother's fears.

"Good! How about your pregnancy?"

"The baby is fine. I'm having a stress free pregnancy so far, so yeah, everything is good at my end," she replied.

"That's great, daughter! I'm feeling relieved now. Call me before you come here so that I can prepare a dish for you," said Thelma.

"Alright, Mother. See you tomorrow! Bye," she said and ended the call.

Caroline stared at her phone, she felt elated that her old phone and her tablet finally returned to her possession. She's wanting to call Alex and thank him, but she dared not restart their communication again. There should be no more communication between them if she wanted to leave the past behind her.

She placed her phone in the bedside table and release a deep sigh.

She left the bed and went inside the bathroom to take a bath. After bathing, she and the housemaid will go strolling the ground floor for her daily exercise routine.

At Susan's office.

She was holding the brown envelope containing the DNA test result. She has not opened it yet no matter how tempted she was to do so 'coz she's waiting for her two sons to arrive.

She wanted to open the result in front of her boys. They will know the result together.

Fifteen minutes later, John arrived first.

John went to his mother's side and kissed her cheeks and stared at the brown envelope. "Is that the DNA result, Mom?"

"Yes. Let's open it after your brother arrives," Susan answered.

Ten minutes went by.

The door to the office opened and Mike rushed inside. "Sorry guys, I'm a bit late. I encountered heavy traffic on the way," he apologized.

"It's okay, son. We didn't open the envelope yet. Take your seat now. I'm eager to know the result," Susan said. She looked at Mike. "Would you like to open the envelope, son?" she offered.

Mike looked at his brother first, then stared at the brown envelope. He shook his head. "Nah. Please do the honor, Mom," he finally said. Inside his mind, he was already praying hard to God that the baby that Caroline was carrying in her tummy is his flesh and blood. Because if not, then he would be super devastated!

Susan took a deep breath and with a trembling hands cut opened the envelope using the scissor. She placed the scissor on the desk and took the paper and began reading. Her expression was blank while perusing the DNA result.

John and Mike were holding their breath observing their mother's reaction while reading the DNA result.

"Mom, w-what is it? Why a-are are you not saying anything yet?" Mike was getting worried and restless as his heart was beating erratically in his rib cage. His mind and heart were filled with apprehension.

Then slowly...a smile curled up in Susan's lips. She looked at her son Mike in the eyes. "Congratulation, son, you are indeed the father of the baby," she finally shared with them the good news and handed the result to Mike.

Huge relief washed over Mike, he began reading the DNA result with tears of happiness shimmering in his eyes.

"Thank God!" John spoke, his voice filled with gladness and relief.

"Guys, this calls for a celebration! We haven't dined outside for a long time. Why don't we do it now! What do you think, guys? No one is allowed to say no!" Susan smiled.

"Alright, Mom. Let's dine outside, only the three of us," John responded cheerfully.

Susan looked at his stupefied son. "What's wrong, Mike?" she asked worriedly.

Mike's face erupted into a wide grin. "From now on, I can finally sleep peacefully at night at last!" he said. "Mom, I'll return this DNA result to you for safekeeping. I don't want to bring it with me home 'coz my wife might accidentally found about it and she will get upset that I didn't trust her enough," he said and handed back the envelope to his mother.

Susan accepted the brown envelope and put it in the drawer of her desk.

John patted his brother's shoulder affectionately.

"Alright guys, let me call my secretary. I'll go home early today. Let's head to my favorite restaurant!" she said happily.

She missed spending time with her boys and that's what she's going to do today.

After talking to her secretary, Susan and her sons exited the building and boarded their respective vehicles going to the restaurant which is just a few minute's drives from Susan's office.

Fifteen minutes later.

The mother and sons arrived at the 5-star restaurant offering Mediterranean Cuisine. They went upstairs to the second floor of the building and ordered a five-course meal.

They chatted for a while waiting for their meal.

"We will have a family day this coming weekend, Saturday!" Susan informed the boys. "This will be our celebration after learning that Caroline's is indeed carrying Mike's baby," she added jovially.

"That would be fantastic, Mom!" John exclaimed enthusiastically.

Susan looked at John. "I haven't seen my grandchildren for a while. I missed them so much!" she said.

"Do not buy too many toys this time, Mom. We already have enough in our house," John complained.

Susan laughed. "Alright, I'll no longer shop for toys. I'm thinking about what to gift my grandchildren this time?" she asked.

"Hmm, just play with the kids and be the doting grandmother that you always are, that will be enough for them," Mike responded.

Susan smiled brightly. "Alright, no more gifts this time, just pure bonding time with them," she agreed.

A moment later, their meals start arriving and they began eating.

While eating they were discussing the current business and economic condition of the country and also chatted about family affairs.

Two hours and thirty minutes went by.

Susan and her sons were done eating and left the restaurant sporting a happy expression on their faces.

They went home.

Meanwhile.

Mike was humming a song while driving his car. He stopped at the first flower shop he saw on the highway and brought a beautiful bouquet for his wife.

After reading the DNA result, a heavyweight has been lifted from his shoulder.

Before the DNA result arrives, he struggles to stop the negative thoughts from invading his mind. He can't shake off the idea that maybe he isn't the father of the baby that his wife was carrying inside her tummy, those thoughts are killing him every minute every second. He wanted to drag the days so the result will finally arrive.

He already decided that if Caroline was carrying another man's child then he will file an annulment right away on the grounds of a.d.u.l.tery. He can't bring himself to raise a baby that isn't his!

A betrayal from Caroline would be painful and would tear his apart into pieces but he can't stand to continue living with her as husband and wife under one roof. He can't stand living with a woman who is carrying other people's offspring, it's a big insult to his pride.

Mike's smile widened upon seeing the building of Blue Belle Residences a few meters away. He can't wait to see his lovely wife!

After the DNA result, he can finally say to himself that his wife was telling him the truth. She didn't abandon him for another guy while she went away. She went away due to mental issues and he chose to believe that because the DNA result proves that he is the father of the baby inside her w.o.m.b.

He arrived at the building and parked his car in the parking lot.

He entered the door and went to the elevator.

When he arrived home, his wife was watching TV in the living room, she looked at him wearing a lovely smile on her face.

"Hubby!" she said with a smile and her eyes landed on the bouquet he was holding in his hand.

Mike went to his wife's side and kissed her cheeks. "Flowers for you my beautiful wife," he said and sat beside her on the sofa. He put his hand on her baby bump and caresses it affectionately. "How's my baby today?" he asked lovingly.

Caroline smiled while smelling the fragrance of the flower. "Thanks for the flower, hubby! I love it!" she beamed in happiness.

"I'm glad you like it, wifey. I can't wait to go back to your OB so that we will know the gender of our baby. I'm excited to buy clothes and toys for our baby!" he chattered excitedly.

Caroline grinned. "Me too!"

Mike goes to the master bedroom and changes into casual clothes then went back to the living room to spend time with his wife.

A few hours later, they eat their dinner.

That night, Mike was able to sleep soundly for the first time after Caroline's arrival. The DNA Result ended his fears and worries, he felt reassured.
