She get that tt is cringe and embarrassing for a grown woman to say something to her mother but it is just that they stopped saying it before they were adults.
Now that she remembers, the Last time Alia called her mommy was in the evening of that dark incident.
That day her daughter changed and she quick to know reason was her newly awakened superpower, So she put blame on that.
But didn't Rose also stop saying this to her?

Helen decided to break the hug while holding her well-hidden tears back by gently grabbing the shoulders of Alia looking into her icy blue eyes.
She just used to throw him some bones and send one word or two as she didn't used to care what he was trying to do as long as she was in control and he was behaving like a good lap dog.
She justified in her mind that, he was getting what he wanted and she getting what she wanted, So it's win-win for both of them.
But while coming to her seeing he didn't even once message her since that dreadful day nearly crushed her soul.
The messages that were once obnoxious to them were beacons of hope in her desperate time.
Those were the only thing that helped her keep calm, saying he just need time to cool off as she would be more focused on asking his forgiveness and giving herself those punishments.
She didn't plan on saying about this to anyone just grit her teeth and try to punish herself for him as it's useless to explain to him as that would come out as excuses and trying to avoid accountability for her actions, she doesn't wants to do that at all.
As in her eyes if someone made a mistake they should pay for it even if that someone is she herself.
"....I know what I am going to ask is too much but it was for the best and the only way I think is to get him back, so don't reject it outright."
Helen took a deep breath. She who knew this change in power dynamic was now in panic mode and thought it was hard for her to do it but this is the best plan she think has any chance of getting Alex back.
But she also knows how her daughter is, So she was worried she would not even listen to the plan and reject it.
"Tell me mother, If it would help me get back my Alex, I would do anything."
Alia didn't even need to hear what she had to do to get Alex back, As long as she got Alex back she was ready to do it.
Yeah they have not officially broken up yet but Alex already separated, So even if it was not official it would be soon enough which I don't want.
"*Sigh* Right now, All I see is one and only one option to save this relationship and get him back."
Helen was quite disappointed as Alia went back calling her that cold soulless word like mother but she for the matter of seriousness ignored and once again gave Alia a chance to back away before she even said what is the way to save the relationship between them.
Because she understands that if Alia knows it there is no saying how she will react, So it was kinda a huge gamble.
"And what is it?"
Alia impatiently asked Helen, clearly annoyed by this secrecy of hers.
"Add, We need to add more interest on our side to win him over."
That's all Helen said hoping Alia would get what she meant by this statement of hers.
