Chapter 116: Prank?! You call it a prank?

It has been a long night for Haruka. Many things happened in which the sense of anxiety never left her side. The reason for such unease was a particular person who was currently in the middle of hordes of enemies and all of them must have been after his life. Even the thought of it made Haruka's face pale and her heart accelerated in turmoil.

She knew her student was strong and could handle himself in real-life challenges but being his guardian on this trip(?) it was her duty to protect Seth at any cost. Yet, due to exhaustion, all she did was doze off at the pub where she was waiting for the survivors along with other ladies.

She was tired from all the traveling yesterday and the stress related to Seth's safety assaulted her at once, and before she could realize Haruka already fell unconscious due to the fatigue. She didn't notice when she was carried away and tugged into the covers inside a strange room.The initial posting of this chapter occurred via Ñøv€l-B!n.

'Seth... '

Her eyes snapped as she somehow pulled herself out of the covers. Landing her feet on the ground she found her shoes placed at the side. Haruka arranged her hair first before she went to pick up her shoes intending to walk out soon when suddenly the door opposite the bed was abruptly pushed open and a familiar figure walked.

Just by seeing Alba's tense expression, Haruka found a dark feeling enshrouding her heart since at whatever instance Haruka never saw the blonde panicking yesterday and now witnessing her like this made the violet-haired professor restless.

"Alba?! What happened?" Haruka got up from the bed, dropping her footwear in the process as she approached the evident anxious girl.

"Miss Haruka...please don't panic after hearing what I am gonna say." Haruka's heart was already in a mess hearing this much as her whole body trembled in apprehension and the color of her face grew pale.

Steeling her nerves she tried to mask her emotions before she nodded for Alba to continue.

Alba's eyes roamed in a different direction before they fell downside as if like she was finding it hard to say what she was supposed to notify Haruka. The violette took a hold of Alba's shoulders in a rigid grip with her throat growing heavy and words failing to formulate. She just urged Alba to continue since even if it was the worst of what could have happened, Haruka wanted to hear it.

Alba stayed silent for some second before she looked back at Haruka with some moisture building in the blonde's eyes as she somehow voiced out the words.

"I-I fear young...young master has fallen on the battleground."

"NOOOO!!!"

Haruka suddenly cried out with a look of utter grief and disbelief contouring her face. Heavy tears build in her eyes before the woman dropped to her knees. She heard it all clearly but Haruka was not ready to accept it at all.

She cared about nothing before she wrapped herself around the boy and clung to him in a manner like he might vanish the very second she let him go.

For a couple of moments, she couldn't believe whether she was seeing things real or was she hallucinating, but the warmth she felt from his body and also the fact that he was bleeding when the dagger pierced stated that this person was indeed her student-Wait!

"Your hand. There was poison on the weapon!"

Haruka panicked as she separated herself from Seth but didn't detach completely as she sat on his lap and raised the hand which had a deep gash right across his palm.

"It's okay...calm down Haruka..."

She was about to dig out a potion from her storage even though it wouldn't subdue the effect but it would not let the poison spread for now. But soon she slightly calmed down when Seth whispered warmly in her ear and took out the highest-grading potion from his storage and downed it.

His warmth and intimate whispers were helping to ease her nerve and bringing a strange heat to course through her entire body. But for now, she had to put those feelings aside since there was a far more concerning matter at hand.

"Seth...when you are alright then why did Alba say such a cruel lie...?"

Hearing her word she saw Seth evidently dodging her gaze and looking to change the topic. It was a rare sight for someone as composed and usually serious as president to get this flustered but right now Haruka was not finding it cute since in her mind she has already summarized what prank has been pulled out on her.

And feeling her intense glare Seth affirmed it verbally as well.

"Actually I...."
