Chapter 98: What the hell!

Mayu Tokugawa, despite being the heiress of such an authoritative clan was still a simple girl who had her simple dreams and desires which her family members would have never allowed her to pursue.

She has seen in her family how for selfish gains even her father could use up his own brother and feel nothing about it, so for Mayu, having any relationship which she could actually adore, was rare, or rather there was only one she could count on.

Only one person she has ever allowed herself to connect with and had the desire to be with. Someone whom Mayu can really trust without fearing getting betrayed.

Her brother and the love of her life, Ryuuta.

It was just familial fondness when they were kids. Playing around or eating ice cream sneakily was all the fun she always craved and Ryuuta was the person who delivered her wishes and never let Mayu get sad because of loneliness. He was always there for her in her best or worst and never complained about how much she nagged him with her presence.

But soon her love began to turn into something more. Something which Mayu herself didn't realize until one day her brother told how a neighborhood girl confessed to him.

It was time when they were in middle high school so being aware of dating and what it involves was not something Mayu was unaware of and unlike her innocent brother, she knew what that girl must have been seeking her brother for.

It was that time when Mayu realized that her brother was not dashing and super caring for her only. He helps whoever comes across him and looks equally handsome to others as well.

She was devastated at the realization and that night she wanted nothing more than to tear away the eyes of that girl who dared soil her brother with a vulgar gaze. Mayu wanted nothing more than to stab that ho*s' eyes with the pencil until she loses her capability to see anything anymore. She just wanted it dearly and had the authority to do so.

But the chances of her brother discovering about it were quite high so Mayu restrained herself. And also since there was a high chance for her brother to be confessed by other girls in the future was highly likely as well, so Mayu came to a decision that day.

In front of her Nii-sama, she always remained the innocent and adorable Mayu but behind his back, she would do everything necessary to prevent any s*ut from wandering near him. She never killed anyone...how can she possibly have, when it might have made her brother hate her if found out...but Mayu did necessary things to make them just...disappear!

Mayu had plans that she would take things slow and after inheriting her clan's throne she would marry her brother even if he doesn't see her as a woman. Well, he would have no other option but to obey her by that time.

She was an opponent Mayu couldn't get rid of and how things were going her brother would have definitely fallen for her mature charms which Mayu couldn't have waited to let happen.

But what she could have done? Her brother still saw her as just an Imouto who was destined to stay the way and before her ascension as the next matriarch, Miyuki might have stolen her Nii-sama away.

When all her hopes began to fade away, suddenly that appeared.

"It's because...that night Miyuki was following the two of you..and seeing you being thrown from the cliff...Miyuki also decided to end her life. And since I and Keita were following Miyuki...seeing her die made us lose every hope of living and we decided to jump as well..."

By this point, Seth was having trouble following around since Saito said it made no sense why would Miyuki even jump after him. Sure Mayu said she liked him, but Seth never found any hint from her which could justify the statement.

Or was he actually ignorant about it...?

"Yes, Nii-sama...you were pretty much dense to notice her affection toward you...and naturally I liked that trait. However, you even failed to notice Mayu's charm as well."

The way Anabelle pouted reminded Seth of Mayu for some reason but he would have his session with the girl at a later period. He still was confused about various things.

Turning his head he asked Ethan the obvious thing related to such eccentric action in their past life.

"Despite being weird...let's assume Miyuki jumped because she loved me. Then why the heck you, Keita, and Kyouko jumped off?"

Ethan grew contemplative for some reason but when he felt the chains around his body tightening, reminding him of the consequences to spout lie here, he sighed in defeat.

Glaring at Seth with an as hateful gaze as ever he replied in contempt.

"It was not just Mayu who received the tree's whisper...and since Keita was blinded in love for Miyuki he also took the irrational decision. As for me, then I just wanted nothing more than to take revenge on you, so I followed the suit. And as per Kyouko..."

Seth coldly looked at his ex-friend with annoyance because of the meaningless reason he just spat out and no believable history Seth could remember which could be counted as revenge worthy.

But since he was curious about what silly reason was behind Kyouko's decision he held himself and waited for Ethan's words.

Even though Mayu was attentive to this piece of information, since the nonchalant and uncaring behavior Kyouko had in the past, Mayu could not think of any reason why her soul also transmigrated along with them.

However, against their expectation, even Ethan had no concrete answer to that question.

"...I honestly had no idea what that girl was thinking when she jumped off and she is the only one, I couldn't trace after coming to this world..."
