Naturally, this was just a speech to remind the people of their places. In actual fact, the Secretary Head had said so blatantly to support Han Qingsong. This had to be done to avoid any other individual from pestering him like Yu Wuzi.

Dealing with her was still okay, but the important factor was Old Lady Han. If the old lady was instigated by Yu Wuzi to go out and start protesting, she would bring a bunch of people along with her to cry and make a scene. The resulting impact would be too bad for them and it would also bring pressure and negative impact onto Han Qingsong.

With these words, the Secretary Head was practically supporting Han Qingsong’s work as much as possible without letting the villagers hold him back.

Han Qingsong naturally thought of it and nodded, “I see.”

Commune cadres, militiamen and even Public Security Directors were not suited to deal with difficult Commune members in the village, so it was best to have reputable village cadres handle the task.

No one in the entire Shanzui Village was not unafraid of someone like Han Yongfang.

Han Qingsong told the young man to be on his way.

Han Qingyun smiled and said, “What do I have to be busy with? Third brother, are you going out? Do you want me to help?”

Seeing that he didn’t seem to be in a hurry to go home, Han Qingsong said, “I bought some bricks and tiles, so I was going to bring them back.”

“Let me go then, how can a Director like you be doing this sort of stuff?” Han Qingyun asked automatically and lowered his head to read the list that Han Qingsong had placed on the table.

When he saw that there were actually 20,000 bricks, he was so surprised that he called out, “Third brother, you’re amazing!”

It was an absolutely amazing feat to be able to buy 20,000 bricks at once this year.

Han Qingsong said, “Before the autumn harvest, I’m going to borrow a mule cart and make a few trips to and fro to bring them home.”

Han Qingyun, “I’ll help you.”

Han Qingsong, “How about this— I will go to the butchering team to borrow a mule cart, whereas you go to my place and ask my wife for 200 Yuan. Also, go and borrow two more carts. We’ll pull three carts today whilst the rest will be pulled on a later date.”

He took a pen and paper before writing a line of words. Then, he asked Han Qingyun to take it back and show it to Lin Lan.

Han Qingyun smiled and said, “Sister-in-law (Lin Lan) is illiterate.”

Han Qingsong glanced at him, “How would you know?”

Han Qingyun laughed, “I didn’t know that the Director has to make an approval note  to ask his wife for some money,” He then ran away.

When Han Qingyun arrived in the village, he first went to the Brigade to talk to his father before running off to Lin Lan’s house without saying much.

Lin Lan’s skills were somewhat improving these days. After sewing a quilt, she began to sew some jackets and pants.

Dawang’s was too small, so a new one had to be made. The eldest brother’s clothes could be passed to his younger siblings though.

It’s a pity that Sanwang’s clothes were tattered like a beggar’s clothes and were really shabby. There was no way that she was going to let Xiaowang wear those.

So Lin Lan needed to sew three children’s clothing. Faced with that fact, she started to worry as she started the process. She even thought about whether or not it would be a good idea to use this opportunity to nurture Maisui and Erwang’s skills with sewing.

If the two children helped her out, she guessed that the clothes would be done a lot faster.
