Chapter 275 Pursuit

"What the hell is he doing so long in the shop!?" Selene asked, feeling frustrated. Yasmine and Beatrice were currently working on the poisons, to figure out which one was best to use together with the spores of the devouring tree seedling.

They didn't want to kill the chubby merchant, which meant that it had to be strong enough to put an Acerta stage Cultivator to sleep but too weak to actually kill Krysal stage Cultivators.

This was certainly not easy and the wrong doses would make it worse, one way or another.

Kyle could only path Selene's back to calm her down before he cleared his throat.

"Well, it looks like he is having the time of his life. It's for the last time in his life, but he doesn't know that yet." Kyle laughed quietly, while Selene flinched.

She enjoyed being close to Kyle, but his words caused her to feel disgusted.

"So…the same chubby merchant we know is sleeping with the assistant, who wanted to pounce at you before?" Selene asked, her expression turned for the worst.

"Yes, exactly that woman. Looks like the chubby merchant had more than enough reason to come to this tiny city. He has a little lover." Kyle was amused and he enjoyed the fact that the chubby merchant would be able to have some fun for the last time in his life.

It took him quite a while to finish off, but that was only better as it allowed Yasmine and Beatrice to work faster.

"I thought she had good taste when Aurora said that she wanted to pounce at you. But it looks like she would do it with whatever being, who has a male genital." Selene said with disgust before quietly adding, "our choice was much better in comparison, we have very good taste!"

Kyle didn't hear the latter, but Selene didn't intend to allow him to hear what she mumbled, either way. After another half an hour passed, the chubby merchant emerged from the shop once again. He was wearing the spatial ring with the mana stones, and they disappeared in the shadows not long after.

"Let's go, we have a fat pig to hunt"

Kyle clasped in his hand and everyone finished their preparations. In a matter of seconds, they were done and left the apartment they had lodged for the last several days.

Yasmine and Beatrice handed Kyle two potions while looking carefully at the content. They didn't want anything to happen, otherwise, someone might die.

"Just don't touch it okay? Use it with your wind affinity, engulf the pore with a tiny bit of the potions' content and let nature do its job." Yasmine said as a reminder, and Kyle nodded his head.

However, everyone could tell that Kyle was not actually listening. His eyes were glowing as he looked at the potions.

This was an indicator that he used his Nurture ability to figure out what kinds of development paths the completed potions had.

The others had already left the room, and it was only on Kyle to leave as well. He smiled faintly seeing the others but rushed outside. All of them started to wear cloaks and winds shrouded their small group, accelerating their speed.

Kyle had stored the potions in his spatial ring and his eyes followed the familiar development paths of the chubby merchant. Even at a distance of several kilometers, Kyle would be able to see the chubby merchant.

Thus, he soared in the air the moment he emerged outside the city.

From a higher position, it was even easier to detect the chubby merchant.

"Total of 10 guards, and there is still only one Acerta guard," Kyle repeated. The number of guards hadn't changed, in the slightest.

There were not many guards but neither few as well. It was a good number to pass through the Glacia kingdom without attracting too much attention.

However, to their misfortune, the chubby merchant had already attracted more than enough attention, and it was time for him to pay for everything he had done!

As Cultivators, they didn't have to rest every single day. They could travel several days without tiring out.

Yet, what neither Kyle nor the others understood at first was the fact that the chubby merchant's group traveled only for a single night before disappearing inside a small mountain.

"What is going on? Where did they go? I could swear that I saw them until a moment ago." Yasmine was utterly dumbfounded. Her eyes were exceptional, and there were not many things she couldn't see. But even then, it was not as if her eyes were perfect or able to look through an isolation array.

"There are a few more people than we expected inside the mountain. There is a huge cavern hall, which you can probably not see because the entrance might be covered." Kyle explained before adding.

"And there is an isolation array, preventing you to sense the energy fluctuations from inside."

Kyle could see a lot using his nurture ability's sight. He was able to perceive more things than Yasmine, including the fact that there were more than a thousand Cultivators at the Krysal and Acerta stage in the cavern hall that was well hidden in the mountain.

"Why would there be so many cultivators?" Beatrice asked while Yasmine could only guess something,

"Either, the mana stones are so important that they need to be protected by so many people, or they plan something else, maybe a hidden mission. The former would suggest that the Thunderclaw kingdom's line of succession has yet to be finalized and that there are way more troublesome people out there, who would want to get their hands on the mana stones."

The former made lots of sense, and Kyle nodded his head.

"Well, it's quite advantageous that they're inside a cavern hall. Now I can nurture the devouring tree seedling's spore path, throw the potions in the air, and wreak havoc with the seventh prince's people. Though I shouldn't kill them with the potions, otherwise, the chubby merchant will be able to leave into the afterworld way too easy."

The others nodded their head as well. The situation was quite advantageous for their plan. It didn't actually matter how many Cultivators were inside the cavern hall. As long as nobody found them, they would collapse to the ground.

Nobody would care about the merchant's disappearance as long as the spatial ring with the mana stones was left behind.

"Does that mean our plan consists of knocking everyone out with some spores and poison before we kidnap the chubby merchant? We leave behind the spatial ring, torture the chubby merchant and kill him, is that it?" Jaden was not sure if he liked this, but he had to know the answers to his questions.

Kyle smiled a little bit bitterly but he nodded his head.

"That's how it is, exactly."

There was no need to lie, so Kyle spoke the truth. Everyone was in for the kill, and the torture. In fact, Kyle didn't need the torture, and he would rather kill everyone inside the cavern hall to get his hands on some powerful souls.

However, he knew that Selene was still mentally disturbed by the pain he went through because of the chubby merchant's doings.

She could do with him whatever she wanted, and they would kill him afterward.

"I want to torture him as well, he hurt my darling!" Beatrice said, pushing out her chest

"Darling?!"

"Darling?!

Both Yasmine and Selene looked at Beatrice with poison in their eyes. Even Kyle looked a bit surprised at Beatrice, who shrugged her shoulders as if she didn't have anything else to say

"Tch!"

The girls were pissed off at Beatrice's behavior, but Yasmine quickly calmed down. She turned in Kyle's direction before revealing her own opinion of the entire situation.

"I'm not sure about torturing, but I want the chubby merchant to die as well. He hurt you…and Selene!" Yasmine's eyes gleamed dangerously. It was obvious that she wanted to hurt the chubby merchant as well.

Kyle just nodded his head. He looked over to Jaden, who seemed to be troubled.

"I understand your concerns, but you will have to learn that only the strong will receive the chance to decide over the life of death of others, whether they're innocent or not. The chubby merchant is not innocent. I don't even want to know how many innocent people he killed." Kyle spoke before he revealed his honest opinion by further adding,

"But, let's be honest, I'm not better in any way. I have no idea how many beasts I killed, and beasts are also life forms.

There are many beasts, who've gained intelligence, and differentiating them from other races doesn't matter to me in this regard. Kill is kill."

There was no need to hide his honest thinking. In his opinion killing a beast was no different from killing a Nasga, Aldra, or fellow human. All of them had a soul that was encased by their physical body, the soul's vessel.

His thinking might have been influenced by the fact that he saw much more than others through the fact that he had a Spirit Soul, but that did not matter right now.

Jaden had to understand what was about to happen and that the future wouldn't be better in any way. Instead of the one getting beaten up, he would have to learn how to deal out punches, not to endure them!
