……Mmn, t’s warm. And it’s kind of floaty.

Orthus? Or is it Unisus? Crawler, no. Crawler’s softer, it’s a bit stiff, but this stability is Unisus.

I put all my strength into the arm around Unisus.

Anyway, when did I summon Unisus?

……Well, okay.

__……The feeling is not bad?__

No, not at all. Rather, the swaying is pleasant.

__I see. In that case, I should sleep as is.__

Yeah, I will……

I feel like something happened, but if it’s okay to sleep, I’ll just go to sleep now.

Aah, somehow it’s very relaxing.

Hey, Unisus, can you fly me to the end of the continent like this……

“……?”

I blink a few times as I wake up and look at the ceiling, which is completely familiar to me. This is the bed in the guest room that I’m using, isn’t it?

When on earth did I get back to the castle?

Last night I went to the Yor festival with Percival……and then?

I’m pretty sure I ate a very tasty pheasant called bandit roast, and then……what did I do after that? I tilted my head and remembered what happened last night when I got up and saw the holly crown on the table.

“The crown of Yor……”

I’m starting to remember things somehow. That crown was bought for me by Percival. Then I beat up some drunkards who were fighting with my wand. Then we went to the square and had a toast with Kingsleigh-san and the others. And then what happened?

Mmnnn? I can’t remember anything after the toast……

“Well, Sapphiras-sama. I see you have awakened. Do you feel unwell?”

Anna-san and Clarabelle-san came into the room and rushed to my side. They are strangely worried about me, but did something happen last night?

“Yes. I’m doing great today as usual……but I can’t seem to remember anything from last night. When did I come back here?”

“You don’t remember, do you? Last night, Sapphiras-sama was unconscious, and Percival-sama carried you back to the castle on his back.”

“Ehhh?”

“Please drink some water first. There’s a squeeze of lemon in it, it will refresh you.”

I received a cup filled with water from Anna-san and drank the contents in one gulp. The slight sourness and refreshing aroma woke me up with a crunch.

I’m beginning to remember. Last night I chugged a cup of grape wine and set off a few fancy fireworks in the heat of the moment.

……It’s a festival, so fireworks aren’t a problem, right?

I don’t remember anything after that, probably because I lost consciousness due to the sudden drunkenness.

“There was a real fuss when Percival-sama returned to the castle with the unconscious Sapphiras-sama on his back. Madam in particular was very worried, and hounded Percival-sama.

“I’m……sorry about that.”

In my previous life, I used to drink wine as a substitute for water at meals. That’s why I thought I was fine, but my body in this world doesn’t seem to be resistant to alcohol. If I’m not careful from now on, I might end up destroying myself with alcohol again.

I’m a magician who can learn, so I won’t repeat the same thing.

“Are you ready for breakfast?”

“Yes!”

Of course I will have it!

I replied cheerfully, and Clarabelle-san pushed the breakfast wagon towards me.

Crispy bacon. Fluffy eggs. Creamy potato soup and still warm bread buns. All of them are very tasty. I felt no residual effects of the alcohol. If I had been hungover, I wouldn’t have been able to eat breakfast.

But still, Percival carried me back to the castle on his back, didn’t he? He could have left me around there until I woke up. I guess he couldn’t have done that because he’s such a responsible man. Even Percival, who works out a lot, must have had a hard time.

After finishing breakfast, I left the room and went downstairs. At this time of the day, Percival would have finished his training, so I have to apologise and thank him.

There weren’t any more guests, so I thought it wouldn’t be a problem to roam freely, so I went down to the entrance where knights, soldiers, and people who seemed to be merchants were gathering. I thought that the party was going on day and night, but it seems that the atmosphere is not so. Madam Adeline and Sandrion-san are dealing with the situation, but they seem to be in some kind of trouble. What on earth is going on?

I wondered if I should call out to them as they seemed to be taking in the situation, and then my eyes met exactly with one of the people who had gathered there.

“Ooh! The sworn friend is here!”

“Spirit-sama! It is an honour to meet you!”

“Sworn friend, congratulations!”

“It’s really a joyous thing!”

“If Spirit-sama is our sworn friend, then our Vanderwall should be safe!”

The people who had gathered started talking to me all at once. For some reason, words of congratulations are mixed in with the slightly embarrassing nickname.

Errr, what in the world is joyous?

“Umm……?”

I’m puzzled, not knowing what’s going on, when a middle-aged man, who could easily be described as a commander, walks up to me, puts his hand on his chest and bows his head.

“My name is Ian Zariban, commander of the Vanderwall Army’s fourth unit. I am mainly in charge of guarding the territorial capital. The magic you performed last night was truly amazing. We are very happy to have a magician of your calibre as Percival-dono’s partner.

Yes? What did you just say? Percival’s partner? Me?!

“Both Theodore-sama and Curtis-sama have already found wonderful partners. I was worried about what would happen to Percival-sama, but I didn’t realise that he had received such a splendid person. Well, well, there was nothing to worry about!”

“I was surprised at the suddenness of the occasion, but first of all, I must congratulate you, and so I have rushed here with a congratulatory gift, albeit with all my heart!”

The people gathered here say one outrageous thing after another, as if to cover Zariban-san.

Wait, wait a minute! What kind of misunderstanding is spreading?

I look to Madam Adeline for help.

“Sapphiras-san, I’m sorry.”.

For some reason, Madam Adeline, with her eyebrows lowered, utters an apology. Moreover, she looks like a child whose mischief has been discovered. Sandrion-san next to her also has an apologetic expression on her face.

No, no? What do you mean? What really happened last night?

Susanna-san made a pot of tea, put down the sweets and quickly left the room. I’m very curious why she bowed so deeply to me before closing the door.

There are many things that bother me, but my curiosity got the better of me for the time being, and I turned around to look around Percival’s room. I’ve visited the dormitory room at the academy a few times, but this is my first time I’ve visited the castle room. It’s almost the same as the dorm room, except for the size. This feeling of nothing useless  is very much like Percival.

Once my curiosity was satisfied, I once again turned my gaze to Percival, who was sitting across the table in front of me. Seeing him making an unusually difficult expression, I got a little nervous and straightened my back.

The reason why the two of us are sitting opposite each other in Percival’s room is because during the commotion at the entrance, Percival came in with a flustered look, and his arrival made the commotion worse and out of control.

Madam Adeline told me to go to Percival’s room because we couldn’t talk calmly here.

Percival remained silent the entire time he was guiding me here. I also kept silent for some reason, but it’s possible that I did something outrageous. I wish I could just apologise, but what should I do if it’s something I can’t take back? As expected, I also turn pale.

“Ummm, that……what on earth happened last night? Did I possibly do something terrible?”

I asked fearfully.

“No, Sapphiras didn’t do anything wrong. I’m the one who caused all that fuss. I’m really sorry.”

Percival stood up and bowed deeply.

“Eh? Wa-wait a minute! There’s no need to apologise for something like that!”

“No, I’ve been keeping something very important from Sapphiras.”

“Something important?”

“Yes. There’s something I haven’t told Sapphiras about the……sworn friendship ring.”

Eh? This ring?

I looked at the ring on my left middle finger.

“The sworn friendship ring?”

“Yes. This time, it has a lot to do with that ring.”

melon: NEXT CHAPTER! FINALLY! I think…it should be…
