Sign a contract?’

Lin Xiaotang was a little confused while thinking about the chapter she sent out last night.

Of course she knew what happens once she signs a contract. It was only after signing a contract with the website and confirming the revenue share of the royalties can her articles be put on the shelves.

Moreover, only signed authors can participate in the annual “Best Newcomer Award” selection.

But why did this editor seek her out so quickly?

The minimum required to submit contract applications is 10,000 words. But considering how 10,000 words wouldn’t amount to much content, editors wait till authors have released 30,000 to 100,000 words with the first arc completed before deciding whether or not to approve their contract application. 

Only authors with outstanding performance would be actively scouted by editors before authors write the minimum word count.

Even Li Fan, the protagonist, didn’t get immediately scouted because several editors had thought Li Fan’s writing was “too rough” and “too controversial.”

It was not until his works reached 30,000 words and after the end of his first face-slapping plot that editors finally approved his application based on the enthusiastic response from Li Fan’s readers.

Lin Xiaotang didn’t have much confidence in her writing, but she was ready to grind tens of thousands of words.

However, in only one night, Lin Xiaotang received text messages from several editors.

After thinking about it, Lin Xiaotang first opened the app of Yunxiao Novel.com and checked the analytics of her first chapter.

Lin Xiaotang was surprised to see the hundreds of comments that racked up overnight.

She noticed that while a few of the comments were encouraging her to continue her writing, most commenters were sharing their frights.

[I don’t know why but even though the text is very bland, it still makes me anxious.]

[I’m too scared to go to the bathroom. I woke my mother up to go with me but she scolded me.]

[Will there be more scary things later? This is so exciting.]
