Data.212 – Old Bowman, Turtle, Crow, Alligator and…

“Why am I the only one who can’t find the enemy…”

Vera Velvet of AUOratorio was riding her Unison, Mannen II, through the wide open street.

“It’s already been announced that Yuri and Achile have died. It’s past the midway point of the battle, and yet I haven’t encountered anyone yet…”

Why was that… She wondered. And Vera had an idea.

After all, moving was very inconvenient for her.

Mannen II was a giant monster called a Fortress Turtle, and so it was limited in terms of what roads it could walk through.

And so even if she heard something, she could not always head in that direction.

Sometimes, she just destroyed the buildings in order to make a path, but then the buildings would rebuild themselves while they were walking, and they would get stuck inside.

And so she would have to use her cannons in order to get out, and she would take damage from the explosion.

“And if I destroy too many buildings, I might hit my comrades and injure myself. In the end, I have no choice but to move slowly… No, wait! I know! If moving is a pain, then I should just stay still!”

Vera ordered Mannen II to stop right in the middle of the road.

And then she quietly waited.

“If it’s a fortress, it should act like a fortress! As long as Macoco is still left, there’s no need to worry! We’ll just stay right here!”

Vera was quite satisfied with her strategy.

However, Vera also had a personality that meant she didn’t like staying still..

“This is…getting very boring… In the first place, is it really right to stay still during a battle with a 30 minute time limit? Right now, there are two of us against three of them, so we would lose once time is up… But Macoco is strong enough to kill all three of them.. Ah, what should I do? Maybe I should move more boldly.”

Vera became restless.

It was just a matter of time before she started to move… But then, two dark shadows appeared in front of Mannen II.

“That’s…Junior and the old man’s alligator! I’m surprised that both Unisons are still alive! alright, I’ll kill the alligator so that Junior can return to Macoco!”

And so that was the end of her plan to stay still!

Vera attacked Garbow!

“It looks like a machine-type! Eat this! Armor Piercing Bullet!”

The cannons that were mounted on Mannen II’s shell fired, unleashing shell-shaped cannon balls!

These were specialized in piercing armor, and would be particularly effective against enemies with the machine attribute…!

“Big Inferno Arrow!”

Just then, a giant arrow came flying from the opposite side and hit the cannonball, canceling out the attack!

“Wh-what the!? …But there is only one archer in this field!”

As she answered her own question, the person who appeared in front of her was Garbow’s true partner. Kyuji!

While I should be prioritizing supporting Necoco, I couldn’t just ignore my buddy when he was in trouble.

Besides, this was Vera Velvet. The last member of the enemy party, along with Macoco.

And I knew that Necoco and Satomi were still alive.

It had been announced that Satomi had defeated Achile. I wasn’t sure what he was doing after that…but he had likely gone to help Necoco.

Because there was no one else for him to fight, since he wasn’t fighting Vera.

And so I would defeat Vera for him!

“Let’s go, Garbow!”

“Gar! Gar!”

She was hiding inside of the shell of Mannen II, which boasted high defense ability.

In that case, Armageddon Arrow was the only way to break through.

The problem was, she also knew this.

And Armageddon Arrow was not very fast.

Not only would she be able to use a charge attack to reduce the damage, she would even be able to dodge it.

However, on this field, Mannen II could not move freely.

In other words, it would be difficult to move quickly and dodge the arrow.

So what I needed to be careful of was the use of powerful charge attacks or Miracle Effects to cancel it out…!

“Miracle Effect! Unison Soul!”

“Huh!?”

A Miracle Effect already…!

What effect is it…

“Golden Mannen II!”

“Woah…!”

I couldn’t help but raise my voice…!

Mannen II was now a shiny gold!

Well, it was a pretty typical way of showing that something had become stronger, but this was a VR game.

And so it was a little overwhelming to see a giant mass of gold shining like that…!

It was no wonder that people saw gold as so valuable during ancient times…!

There was something magical and compelling about gold!

“I’ll tell you something before you die! This Miracle Effect’s effect is…status enhance! Nothing more and nothing less! I just become stronger! I don’t need to do anything like increase the number of Unisons! I prefer to trust the one I have!”

Quality over quantity…

I see. So she was the opposite of Satomi.

However, I was bad at handling multiple enemies at once, so I was actually grateful for this…!
