Flying Fairy in the Desert (3)

He sat with his eyes lowered, feeling a thumping in his heart and not knowing whether to be happy or worried. The brother driver rarely said much this time and the vehicle drove forward in silence. Unable to hear anything from behind after a while, the atmosphere in the car became odder.

He suddenly coughed and reached back without looking up. “Fang Li, log out of your WeChat. I want to use your phone for a bit.”

There was a slight rustling sound from the back, not knowing what the two were doing. It was only after a few seconds that Fang Li’s shaky voice came out. “Ruan-ge, here.”

Ruan Qingmu glanced at Fang Li, blushing uncontrollably in the rearview mirror, and took his phone with his hand in the back. “I will return it to you when you get off.”

These two people didn’t have time to play with their phones anyway!

He logged into his user ID on WeChat and was slightly surprised.

Qin Yuan’s conversation box had no messages.

He hurriedly typed a line. “I’m done! Fu Songhua came to pick us up. Did he discuss it with you?”

No response came for quite some time. He was a bit shocked. It was pretty late at this time of night, but it wasn’t like he had gone to bed. Moreover, they hadn’t said goodnight to each other yet!

Finally, a message came from the opposite side. “Mm. I had something to do just now. I saw you guys getting off the live stream.”

Ruan Qingmu finally sighed out of relief and asked smilingly, “Have you seen my sword dance?”

This person was so strange and didn’t even praise him!

Qin Yuan looked at the dialogue box in a daze and finally asked, “Have you learned martial arts? Where did you learn it?”

Ruan Qingmu was stunned. Yes, where had he learned it from?

“I attended a hobby class briefly when I was little. Haha, isn’t it quite presentable?” he replied guiltily and hurriedly changed the subject. “Oh right, I want to confess. My phone is broken. I will use my advanced salary to buy a new one tomorrow. Don’t wait for my WeChat at night. I don’t have a phone to chat with you.”

Qin Yuan let out a soft “mm.” “I’ve guessed it.”

He had run outside last night to find a stranger to borrow a phone and used the computer to chat with him today.

His gaze went to the music video repeatedly playing on the side. “Ruan Ruan, there’s a nice song. I’ll send it to your email.”

Ruan Qingmu lightly smiled. “Okay. I will listen to it after buying a new phone tomorrow.”

When the car arrived in front of Fang Li’s house, Ruan Qingmu returned the phone to Fang Li. When he looked up, he saw Fu Songhua following Fang Li out of the car and he was speechless. “…”

Look at them being lovey-dovey!

“I’ll leave the car to send you home.” Fu Songhua waved at him with a rare calmness. “Be careful on the road. Remember to text me after you’ve safely returned home.”

Ruan Qingmu looked at him questioningly, wanting to say something teasing but eventually waved his hand.

Qin Yuan seemed to have fallen asleep very quickly that night.

His spirit was more tired than ever and his temples became more painful. As soon as his head hit the pillow, it was as if something was pulling him heavily and he was falling fast toward the dream world.

It had been a while since he had that strange dream. As Dr. Gong had said, it was probably because of some invisible stress that he didn’t know how to release and relieve in reality so that it manifested itself in his dreams.

It was the same dream, the youth whose face could not be seen, the laughter, and the familiar voice.

It was the same episode he had dreamed of intermittently in that cave several times.

The poisonous snake wound on his chest itched unbearably and his skin burned hot. Finally, someone gently leaned down and his slightly cold lips covered the wound, slowly sucking on it.

He felt nothing but pain and comfort on his body and didn’t know how long it took before the person’s lips left his wound, and he seemed to sigh quietly.

“I should’ve just killed you. You’ve been chasing me for so long. It’s so annoying.”

He seemed to be struggling a little, his mind clearing a little, but he couldn’t move, his body remaining stiff and unable to open his eyes.

Suddenly, it turned even darker around him again, but the youth turned his head in the pitch blackness.

His face, which had always been blurred, finally became clear. His eyebrows were refined and open, and his peach blossom eyes were staring at him with something curious and seemingly disgusted.

Qin Yuan, in the dream world, however, suddenly felt like a hammer was hitting him in his chest. Ruan Qingmu! The person in this dream was Ruan Qingmu.

The dream was getting more bizarre and made no sense. Ruan Qingmu smiled faintly and leaned slightly closer to his face as if he knew what he was thinking. “Yes, ah. It’s me. Why? After being separated for a short while, has Qin-shaoxia forgotten about me?”

Ruan Qingmu in the dream world was familiar and unfamiliar, wearing the same elegant brocade robe as the one he saw today with a golden crown on his head. He had a more evil look and his face was red with a strange coloring.

He slowly moved closer and pressed the immobile Qin Yuan down onto the rocks behind him. “Why are your face and forehead still so hot? Has the snake venom not been cleared yet? Could it be that the venom has attacked your heart and is currently circulating through your bloodstream?”

Unexpectedly, his fingers flicked down and touched something. “Aiya. Why is it even hotter here? And it appears to be swollen a bit? It’s a matter of life and death. If Qin-shaoxia wants to survive, shouldn’t you beg me to help you suck here again?”
